For the love of books [January 2018]

I am happy with the amount of books I have read so far. I have set a reading challenge for me this year to read at least 20 books. I am happy to report that I have finished about 7 books in total. I cannot believe that January is such an amazing reading month for me. I have never read this much in a month. This must be some kind of record for me. Alhamdulillah.

You can follow Goodreads here for more books in my shelves.

books-january

HERE ARE THE BOOKS THAT I HAVE READ SO FAR

1. Artemis by Any Weir

I’ve finished reading this book today. I have mixed feelings about the book. I am not really comfortable reading science fiction book because it’s not my genre. I haven’t read The Martian so I have no idea what Andy Weir writing style is going to be like. I really like the idea of a city on the moon. The whole city were explained in detail from the point of view of Jasmine Bashara a 20 something girl who has been living on the moon since she was six. The book mention a lot of sciences to make living on the moon a possible. The story follow Jasmine Bashara a smuggler who try to make a living on the moon and get caught up in a conspiracy to change the dynamic and economic on the moon. Sometimes I have no idea who Jasmine was fighting against. That part of the story was a bit hard to follow. This is definitely an action pack techno thriller which I think I will enjoy more as a TV series.

I give this book 3.5 stars out of 5 stars. I still enjoy the book and will recommend it to anybody who enjoys sci fi book.

2. Red Hope by John Dreese

After reading Artemis I had to read anothet scifi book. This time it was about expedition to Mars.

What the book is about?
For two million years, Mars has hidden a ghastly secret. Two hours ago, the Curiosity Rover found it.With less than a year to prepare, four modern-day astronauts are forced to leave their families behind and risk their lives on what will become the most important expedition mankind has ever launched. With time running out, the fate of humanity rests in the hands of four doomed astronauts.“

What do I think?

I am constantly wanting to know what happened. The story was narrated in a third person and has a few characters that has a back story. I kinda wish that the author explore more back story of each four astronauts that was choosen for the mission. I feel a bit detached from the character and I don’t really care if they die or not. Other than that I really enjoyed reading this book. I will definitely pick up the second book - Blue Hope - because I wanted to know if the remaining astronauts get home safely. And how does the finding from Mars changes the history of the world.

I gave this book 4 stars out of 5, I love the story but I still think it can be more.

3. Master Todoist by S. J Scott

I enjoyed reading this book. I have been using Todoist since last year and I still have a lot to learn. I really like how Scott explain how to use todoist to be more productive and getting things done. He inspired me to review my setup to fit my goals and lifestyle.

I gave this book 5 stars out of 5 because I enjoyed reading the book and learned a lot from it.

4.You are a badass by Jen Sincero

How to stop doubtingyour greatness and start living an awesome life. If can summary this book in two words it will be LOVE Yourself. There are many good points in this book that make me think deeper about my life. Listening to her narrating her book is also awesome. I’ve finished listen to this book in less than 5 days. I think I need to read the ebook and really highlight a few great points mention. It is true that if you let go and have faith in Allah, Allah will have your back. ( I do think the Universe mention in this book refer to God (Allah the Al almighty) )

I gave this book 5 stars out of 5 because it inspired me to be good to myself and love myself. I really needed to hear that.

5. Bad Things by Emily Goodwin

This is the third book from Love is a Mess series. This time the story follow Cole’s story which is three years after Twice Burn left off. I want Cole to find happy ending but so far I just wanted to take a peek at Luke and Lexis life after the wedding and a baby. Their story definitely give me hope that true love does exist. I really like reading about the bonding that Luke and Cole develop after the whole mess in Twice Burn. I am still not feeling the live between Cole and Ana but I still want to know what happened to them. So I will continue reading Battle Scars just because I am curious to know what happened to them.

I gave this book 3 stars out of 5 stars.

6. Killman Creek by Rachel Cain

This is the second book from Stillhouse lake. The story follows what happened after Gina found out that her ex husband break out from jail. I thought the story is going to focus more on how Gina is going to take control of her life by hunting down Marvin. I thought Marvin is the master of story but I was totally wrong. Marvin does not work alone and the people that help him murder all those girls make money from him. In the end it’s all about money.

I gave this book 5 stars out of 5 because of the unexpected ending.

7. Twice Burned by Emily Goodwin

This is the second book of Love is a mess series. This book continue with Luke and Lexis love story. Learning to trust someone after you have been hurt is not going to be easy. Luke and Lexis have their ups and down, I am so glad that they made up and finally be together. I love a happy ending story.

I gave this book 5 stars out of 5 because I love the characters and I finished reading the book in less than a week.

Currently reading
1. Blue Hope by John Dreese
2. China Pandemic by A.R. Shaw
3. NYPD RED 4 by James Patterson

I am looking forward to a good reading month in February.

5 more ways to save money

One of the things I intended to do this year is save money for travel. I have been spending way too much money on stuffs that I don't really need. One of the ways to live a simple life is to consume less stuffs. This year I wanted to live the life that I design and take control of my financial. I have to be smart about money even though I am not really good at keeping them.

Last two years I wrote about 5 ways to save money, and this year I wanted to add another 5 more ways that I think can help save money.

1.Pay yourself first - I know I should have tired to do this since the last twenty years but I think it's never too late to start. So this year I am determined to put away 10% of my income first before I paid my bills. I usually paid my bills first and then save only what's left which was not that much. The idea is the same as putting the big rock first in the bottle before putting in the rest of the sand. Somehow the rock and the sands or pebbles will fit in the bottle.

2.Practice delay gratification - This is something I am definitely going to practice really hard because I am not good when it comes to delay gratification. The trick is to take a deep breath, take a picture of the stuffs that I want and put it in a list with the price. This will keep my mind quiet and not thing about the stuffs all the time. Than if in six or twelve months down the road, it I still want them then I will consider buying them. I hope I can practice this habit this year.

3.Minimalist - only keep things that makes you happy. One of the ways to live a simple life is to be minimalist. This does not come easy for me because I love to collect things. Being minimalist is something new to me. I am sure I will save a lot of money on clothing because this year I am going to limit my clothing and hijab to a bare minimum. Only buy them if I have space and if I really really want them.

4.Exercise at home - Staying healthy is so important if you want to save money. Exercise can be expensive especially if you have to go to a gym. One of the ways that you save money is to exercise at home. You will save money on gym fee or zumba class fee, save money on gas, parking and time. There are a lot of great workout on youtube which can help you stay healthy at home.

5.Adopt digital lifestyle - Keeping physically stuffs to a minimal is going to be a challenge. With a high speed internet a lot of things can be found online like magazine, books, musics, movies, digital filing cabinet and many more. Most of digital stuffs are much more cheaper than the physical product. I usually try to find the free version all over the internet. This year I did not buy any physical product for planner. I used iPlanner from digitallyspeaking.net as my planner and I saved money on stickers, washi tape, color pens and many more. I have everything that I need in a palm of my hand. I am so love the digital life style so far and I am converting bit by bit from physical to digital and it's going to take some time to setup.

1. I so excited to use Trello to track and manage my goals for 2018. I am in love with Trello at the moment.

2. I am currently obsessing over Brooklyn Nine Nine TV show. I can't believe that it took me four years to finally start watching it.

3. I am looking forward to watch the Maze Runner 3. I wanted to read the book but somehow I just can't finished it.

Think about it this way…If you take one picture and write down three facts each week — at the end of the year you’ll have more than 50 photos of yourself and 150 facts about what life has been like. It would make such an epic All About Me book — and most of the work is already done." - rukristin.com

I have finally finished with my One Little Word Prompt for January. I decided to practice my word and find the simplest process. Goodnotes is the app I will be using for my notes, planners and smashbooking so this app will be with me all of the time. So I decided to setup the digital notebook as a smash book style. I am loving the process so far. It's perfect for 2018.

This is me

Lately I was having trouble making scrapbook pages just because I wasn't excited about my day to day picture. Somehow I felt like I have lost the will to create and when that happened I feel sad and empty. This year I have made a promise to myself to at least create a few scrapbook pages using daily photos. At the moment I am still using Project Life app as my main scrapbook app. I will save the layouts in my icloud and access those saved files from my computer to add a few elements and words.

HERE ARE MY TWO PAGES CREATE WITH PROJECT LIFE APP

8 books I am looking forward to in 2018

I am so happy that now I have the gift of time. I can finally spend my time reading and enjoy a good book anytime I like. I love stories and I love books. So hunting for a new book to read this year has become my obsession. Most of booktuber find all the books in YA, romance, fantasy and sci fi categories. I like mysteries and thriller more, so I hunt for that kind of genre on amazon to see what's coming up this year.

Here are eight books that I am looking forward to this year

1. A Steep Price ( Tracey Crosswhite book 6) by Robert Dugoni
I am a fan of Tracey Crosswhite since the first book and I am always excited to see what her next adventure will be like.

2. Unearthed by Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner
I am not a fan of sci fi book but somehow I am started to get into sci fi ever since I read Dark Matter and Artemis. I am looking forward to read a book about message from alien race, a planet and an expedition to that planet.

3. All the Beautiful Lies by Peter Swanson
I am a fan of Peter Swanson ever since I read The Kind Worth Killing. I don't want to read too much about this book because I don't want to have any set expectation. I trust that this book is going to be great

4. Bring Me Back by B.A. Paris
A new thriller from B.A Paris seems promising.
"A young British couple are driving through France on vacation when they stop at a service station. He runs in to use the restroom, she stays in the car. When he returns, her car door has been left open, but she's not inside. No one ever sees her again. Ten years later he's engaged to be married; he's happy, and his past is only a tiny part of his life now. Until he comes home from work one day and finds his new fiancée sitting on their sofa turning something over in her fingers, holding it up to the light. Something that would have no worth to anyone else, something only he and she would know about, because his wife-to-be is the sister of his missing first love"

5. Then She was Gone by Lisa Jewell
I have never read a book by Lisa Jewell but the storyline of this book got me intrigued. I want to know what happened to Elle the missing daughter.

6. Let me Lie by Claire Mackhintosh
"Police say it was suicide, Anna says it was murder, they are both wrong". With a tagline like that makes me want to know what really happened to Anna parents. Can't wait for this book to come out.

7. The Fallen (Memory Man series) by David Baldacci
I have read the first three books from this series and I love all of them. I want to read more stories about Amos Decker, a man who doesn't forget anything.

8. The Escape Artist by Brad Meltzer
I have not read Brad Meltzer book in a long time. I think I am going to pick up this book this year and read or maybe listen to the audiobook.
"Her body was found on a plane that mysteriously fell from the sky as it left a secret military base in the Alaskan wilderness. Her commanding officer verifies she's dead. The US government confirms it. But Jim "Zig" Zigarowski has just found out the truth: Nola is still alive. And on the run"

I can't wait to add these books into my collection for 2018

8 things I am thankful in 2017

If I had to summarised my twenty seventeen I would said that it was not my great year. I had so many challenges thrown at me that I felt like giving up. I just have to remind myself that I can’t give up. I can’t destroy myself just because I got my heart broken to million pieces for the millionth time.

In order for me to feel good about myself and be thankful, I have to look deeper beyond the pain. No matter how hard my life was in 2017 I still have a lot of things to be thankful for. The big and little memories that I want to cherish for the year to come. I want to remember 2017 as the best year of my life.

HERE ARE EIGHT THINGS I AM THANKFUL FOR IN 2017
  1. I never thought I would be brave enough to say that I am done being a victim. I am not a backup plan and I am not a punch bag. It’s about time I take control of my life. I finally did it and it feels good and scary at the same time
  2. I never thought that I would have the opportunity to travel to Turkey. I don’t think this country made it to my wanted to visit list. In away it’s a good thing because I can expand my horizon and experience a place that is totally different that what I am used to.
  3. I love my job and I wish I could do more. My vision is to see my department moving towards a paperless working environment. Change can be hard. We need to show them that paperless work environment can be done. Not printing documents can be done. I am so thankful that I have my ipad pro and Apple pencil to help me prove that going paperless is not hard.
  4. I never thought I would buy another car. I don’t feel like I am worthy enough to drive someone else car. I decide out of necessity to treat myself a new car. It feels so good to finally drive my own car and not depend on other people mercy. Being independent is the best feeling in the world.
  5. I am so thankful to be alive right now where there we so many new technologies around. I love all of my gadgets especially Kindle Oasis and my Apple watch. I secretly wanted to have a smart home with google home all around the house and connected to all of my devices. I can just say OK google switch of the lights. I am still waiting patiently for Homepod.
  6. My obsession with apps and tools help me to organise my thoughts and help me to better plan my life. Apps I am loving at the moment are Trello, Todoist, Google Calendar, Evernote and Goodnotes. I can't go by my daily life without using at least three or more apps. I am so so thankful for them.
  7. I discovered Mahkota Dewa coffee this year and it was the best affordable coffee I have ever had. It gives me great pleasure to drink this coffee every morning at work
  8. I am also thankful for the opportunity to ride a hot air balloon in Cappadocia. I might not put this in my bucket lists because I am afraid of the height but I am still glad that I did them. This is definitely once a lifetime experience to see Cappadocia from air. Love love love the view

This list does make me feel better about myself. It teaches me to be thankful for all the great things in my life. Be in the presence of greatness and live my life the way I wanted. Make things happened and not let the bad things that happened clouded my view and happiness.

I am so looking forward to 2018. May this year be the best year yet. I am stronger than I think and remember that life is not about waiting for the storm to pass but learning to dance in the rain.

#thursday3 [18.01.2018]

I can't believe that it's already the third week of January 2018. I have been busy setting goals and making plans for the rest of the year. I am so bless to live during this period of time. Having information at your finger tips can be a blessing in disguise. Most of the things that I wanted and needed to do can be done online. How cool is that!

HERE ARE  MY SELFIE AND THREE FACTS ABOUT ME THIS WEEK

#thursday3 (18.01.2018)

#thursday3

1. I have set 20 books to read in 2018 challenge on Goodreads.com. I am determine to consume knowledge and stories this year. Amazingly I have read five books so far and I am so excited with the statistic.

2. I am suddenly obsess with e-learning course. I have bought about three courses on Udemy during year end sale and now I am trying Skillshare for three months. I am hoping to make the time to allocate for learning. Consuming knowledge has become my addiction at the moment.

3. I am also obsess with ebooks. I just can't stop reading either with my Kindle or my iPhone. I am currently reading Your Digital Life 2.0 and Battle Scar. Now is definitely the best time to be alive. I would never thought that I could carry a small ebook readers every where I go that can store thousands of books.

One Little Word 2018: Simplify

Twenty seventeen has been a very tough year for me. My life has been turned upside down and I was left with emotionally and mentally exhausted. I started last year with an intention of CONNECT. I wanted so badly to CONNECT with my environment and with people in my life. I am not ashamed to admit that I have failed. I am not going to let that failure crippled me. People failed, shit happened and life is a mess.

So this year I am going to invite SIMPLIFY into my life. I want things to be simple, process to be simple, life to be simple and love to be simple. It's about time I find the calm in all these chaos.

I have been playing with One little word since the last seven years and I have taken the workshop twice. This year I decided to enrolled in One Little word workshop again. Ali Edwards voice shoot me and I want to feel calm and surrounding myself with things and people that calm me.My One Little Word that I choose in the last seven years were:

.simplify-2018

Definition of Simplify

This year I would like to invite

Clear Space: I want to be comfortable with living with less

Be Selective: with all the things or people I want to invite into my life

Get out of Being BUSY mentality. Instead strive for productivity. I need to remember that less is more

What I hope to let go of this year : - Letting go of the things and people who no longer server me of make me happy. Be thankful for them and move forward.

I choose SIMPLIFY as my one little word this year and I want to create a life that suits me and make me happy.

So this year I intend to...

Simplify my life - stop putting up with toxic relationship, save money to travel and choose at least one destination, organise and simplify my digital life - only use one app for one thing, simplify daily routine so that I can be at work on time and letting go of the past.

Simplify my space- Declutter my home, minimise buying physical stuffs including books, declutter digital space

Simplify my spiritual journey - donate RM1 daily , recite Quran daily, solah without fail, write in my gratitude journal 3 things I am thankful for daily

Simplify my memory keeping - be selective when taking photos especially during vacation time, keep a digital journal (with DayOne App) , only use project life app for scrapbooking and only use Goodnotes app when I have the urge to write and doodling for journal. (I thinking of doing a smash book style journal in my Goodnotes app)

Simplify my health and fitness - find a simple healthy recipies, simplify my fitness routine, simplify my skin care routine (stop buying more than one brand for moisturising) and continue to walk more

Simplify my productivity - choose only one tool to help me be productive for at least a year.

Simplify my mind - keep all of my negative thoughts in a journal, dump everything from my brain ( I need to practice morning pages on a regular basis), read a book that help me be a better person (You are a badass comes to mind), Doa all the the time (letting go of control and let Allah do HIS MAGIC)

These are all of the things I intend to do and improve this year. I want to know what it feels like to live a SIMPLE LIFE. Create a living space with less stuffs. Be happy with what I have and find ways to make what I have more fun and exciting. I want to have a clear mind and sleep better at night.

" I AM PERFECT IN MY IMPERFECTION, HAPPY IN MY PAIN, STRONG IN MY WEAKNESS AND BEAUTIFUL IN MY OWN WAY, BECAUSE ALLAH IN ON MY SIDE"

PL // Turkey 2017 Part 3

Alhamdulillah I have finally finished making scrapbook layouts of my Turkey Trip using Project Life app. I have way too many photos to go through and to choose from. I really need to remind myself the memories I want to remember when taking photos. I really need to be selective. Choosing which photos to print out and which photos to delete can be a stressful tasks for me. Storage might be cheeper but my time is not.

So here the remaining of my PHOTOS from this trip

Turkey 29 Turkey 30 Turkey 31 Turkey 32 Turkey 33 Turkey 34 Turkey 35 Turkey 36 Turkey 37 Turkey 38 Turkey 39 Turkey 40

Now I just have to redownload photobook app, arrange all these layouts in 8x8 photobook then I am ready to print them.

I hope that my layouts inspired you to document your trip and print them out. Using Project Life App can really speed up the process. Creating a master piece scrapbook layout is not important. However, documenting your memories are important. Cultivate a good life and record it.

Kindle Oasis 2017

This year I am going to make it my goal to read at least 20 books. This might not be that much book but for me it's a lot. I love reading but making the time to read can be a challenge.

One of the trick to get me to read more is to have the book with me all the time. This is where my kindle has been very helpful. I can carry this little device with me all the time. And the battery life last more than a week which is pretty amazing.

Kindle Oasis

I used to own Kindle Voyage but when I saw that Kindle Oasis 2017 has bigger screen size I was excited. So last month I went to Big Bad Wolf 2017 and bought myself a Kindle Oasis from KindleMalaysia. If you live in Malaysia and wanted to own a Kindle, you can buy them from KindleMalaysia. They have been around for sometime now and their services are great. They even offered to help me sell my Voyage.

My thoughts:
1. The display is amazing - it's beautiful, sharp and easier on the eyes
2. Higher storage than my previous kindle - It means I can save a lot of books in this kindle
3. Page turn buttons - This is one of the features that I love. To be able to press a physical buttons feels so great and satisfying compare to just tapping.
4. I just love that this kindle allows me to rotate the book how ever I like. That means I hold the book either with right hand or left hand.
5. Audible is also available with this kindle. I haven't try listening to Audible from this kindle yet but it's just great to have the option here.
6. I love the battery life. It can last me more than a week if I really use it daily. Other wise it can last for almost three weeks before you really really need to charge it.

I am enjoying this kindle so much. I don't know why I read ebook faster compare to physical book. I intend to fully go digital with books this year and I am going to read all of my 20 books for 2018 challenge with on ebook and audible.

I highly recommend this kindle if you have not own a kindle before and want a bigger screen and larger space. It's an investment that can last you a long time.

My 18 goals in 2018

Hello my lovelies. How's your new year so far? I have been thinking about yearly goals a lot this year.  I usually did not do yearly goals because I will have trouble remembering them throughout the year.

This year I decided to make a few achievable goals in 2018 which I can visit monthly and see how far I have accomplished them. I intend to live this year intentionally and to simplify my life. I decided to do My 18 goals in 2018 tag (I think it's a tag because I kept seeing them everywhere in youtube). It will be fun to do along a one year project with everybody.

(Credit: Photo by Cathryn Lavery on Unsplash)

HERE ARE MY 18 GOALS IN 2018
  1. Do abs workout at least 3 times a week - I have been neglecting my abs workout lately. So this year I intend to do abs workout at least 3 times a week.
  2. Drink at least 3 liter of water daily- I have been very callous with my water intake lately. So this year I want to do this again and make it a habit again this year.
  3. Be more grateful and humble - I want to be more humble and grateful this year. I plan to keep a gratitude journal using my DayOne app and list three things I am grateful for daily. Say thank you alot especially to someone who I think don't deserve it. Just say thank you.
  4. Write in my journal daily - I know that this year is going to be a challenging year for me. I am going to have a lot of emotional baggage to sort through and a lot of things are going to be on my mind. So writing a daily journal can be very helpful to keep a clear head and a peace of mind.
  5. Read 20 books this year - I just sign up reading challenge on goodnotes for 20 books. I want to read more this year and having a set of number to achieve is going to be fun for me.
  6. Learn to use Affinity Photo  - I have bought Affinity photo last year but I was just barely scratch the surface. So this year I am really going to learn how to use this app especially on my ipad.
  7. Travel at least two times - I have been meaning to travel the world for the longest time. I want to make the time to see other places in the world before I die like Eiffel Tower in Paris,  Gondola Ride in Venice, Colosseum in Rome, Northern Lights (Aurora) in Iceland and many more. Hopefully this I get to visit some of them.
  8. Stick to a system or tool for a year - I love technology and I love apps. I can easily get seduce into trying new apps all the time. This year I wanted to use only the app that I have, choose only one app for a particular task and delete others. For example - use only todoist for all my to dos (actionable task), Evernote for my digital filing system - Google calendar as my main calendar, Trello as my project management overview, Project Life app as my scrapbook, Goodnotes as my note taking app-digital planner and art journal, Day One as my journal, Color Story as my photo editing app. It is going to be challenge for me but I am going to try
  9. Embrace the power of ONE - In this age of information technology where everything that you want is at your finger tips. Information overload can really cripple me. Make your choice and stood by it. One is a very powerful number. Be comfortable with myself because there's no one in the world like me. I have to stop comparing myself to other people. No one in the world have my experience and no one in the world have my emotions. I am ONE - celebrate that.
  10. Spend less money on things/stuffs - I have been very bad when it comes to accumulating stuffs. I often bought things that I don't need. This year I am going to make it my goal to spend less money on things/stuffs. I am going to try and practice the 30 days rule. If I find things that I want to buy I have to put it in To Buy Lists (use todoist) and revisit them in 30 days. If I still want them after 30 days than maybe I will consider buying it.
  11. Go on "Apple Diet" - I have been spending way too much money on Apple product last year. I am going to make it my mission to stop myself from buying any Apple product this year. No matter how amazing and beautiful the product is I am not going to buy it. (unless they come out with new Apple Pencil hehehe ...) . I need to spend more time enjoying my product because Apple product last longer and I should really used them to it's full potential. I even told my kids about this goal and asked them to remind me about this goal when ever I mention to them that I want that new iphone or that new ipad or that new macbook.
  12. Finish my online courses - I have taken a few online courses last year and a few this year that I still need to go through.
  13. Simplify my life - Simplify is my One Little Word for 2018. This year I am going to embark on a project to simplify my life especially with my spaces and environment. My January is going to focus on things/stuffs in my home. I need to slowly letting go of all the stuffs that longer serve me physically, emotionally, spiritually and mentally.
  14. Adopt a digital Life Style - I want to adopt a digital lifestyle this year. Mostly I will convert all the papers document that I received into digital and keep them in my Evernote, convert all my dvd movies into digital media, only buy ebooks or audiobooks (no physical book this year) and so on.
  15. Spend more time at home - especially during weekend. I used to love going to malls during weekend just to make myself busy and forget about my loneliness and problems. This year I am going to make a conscious effort to stay at home more often during the weekend and enjoy my space and my home more. I can be happy at home and feel content with myself.
  16. Explore Simplify (OLW2018) - I want to be curious with my word and embrace the beauty of becoming. I am not sure how I am going to do that but I am sure that by the end of the year I will be a different person.
  17. Involve actively with my daughter studies - My daughter will be taking SPM exam in 2019. I want her to be prepare from day one. Study is fun and I am going to make it my mission to show her how fun it is. I am already checking out pencil.my and a few online tuisyen available.
  18. Be more active - My job is basically spend time in front of a computer. I want to be more active this year. Walk more and hit at least 10,000 steps every single day including weekend. Exercise for at least 30 minutes for 6 days a week and not step on the scale for three months. I need to change my goal from losing weight to be more healthy.
This is definitely a really long lists and long goals. I think it's achievable and not too big for me. I might do half of the year check in blog post just to see how I am doing. Wish me luck!

The Greatest Showman // the review

I can safely said that this movie is the best movie I have ever seen so far this year! I have watched it two times already and I am thinking of watching it once more because I just can't get enough of the songs, the characters and the beautiful scenes. I love everything about the movie.

What the story is about?

"The Greatest Showman” is a bold and original musical that celebrates the birth of show business and the sense of wonder we feel when dreams come to life. Inspired by the ambition and imagination of P.T. Barnum, “The Greatest Showman” tells the story of a visionary who rose from nothing to create a mesmerizing spectacle that became a worldwide sensation. “The Greatest Showman” is directed by exciting new filmmaker, Michael Gracey, with songs by Academy Award® winners Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (“La La Land”) and starring Academy Award nominee Hugh Jackman. Jackman is joined by Zac Efron, Academy Award nominee Michelle Williams, Rebecca Ferguson and Zendaya." excerpt from 20th Century Fox

What do I think?
I can't say enough how much I love this movie. I never thought Hugh Jackman can sing like that. So beautiful. I am still at awe and smitten by this movie. I just can't stop listening to the soundtrack. All of the songs were written so beautifully especially "This is me"...

When the sharpest words wanna cut me down
I'm gonna send a flood, gonna drown them out
I am brave, I am bruised
I am who I'm meant to be,
this is me
Look out 'cause here I come
And I'm marching on to the beat I drum
I'm not scared to be seen
I make no apologies,
This is me

I highly highly recommend this movie to everyone. It's the kind of movie that will inspired you to be better, not to be ashamed of who you are.
