Evernote for digital lifestyle

One of many ways to living a digital lifestyle is to use technology as much as possible. One of the app that I have been using for a long time and still learning to set it up is EvernoteIn the simplest form Evernote is a note taking app that is universal enough for multiple platform. Evernote can be what ever you want it to be because it can captured almost anything like text, photos, videos, audios and many more.

Evernote

Back in 2012 I used Evernote for basically everything, now I am trying to limit the way I used Evernote. I am in the process of reviewing what I captured in Evernote because there are so many apps I am using right now like Todoist, Goodnotes, Calendar 5 which sometimes can make my workflow a little bit complicated.

As always when I want to learn something new or new ways of doing things, I turned to youtube for inspiration and knowledge.

Here are a few channels that I have come across during my research that I totally enjoyed watching

1. How Nora Conrad used Evernote
2. Using Evernote for Travel Planning
3. Using Evernote to Achieve Long Terms Goals
4. Carl Pullen Working with Evernote Series - I am totally obsess with this series!
5. How to Use Evernote Effectively: Top 5 Things You'll Want to Know
6. Evernote Tutorial 2015
7. Learning to use Tags
8. How I plan with Evernote
9. How To Plan Your Day Using Evernote
10. MY EVERNOTE SETUP: BLOG/BUSINESS/PERSONAL

My plan for my new Evernote setup are as follows

1. Re organize my tags and setup nested tags
2. Limit Evernote for Notes, Emails, Receipts, Recepies, Reference Materials, Travel Plan
3. Keep track of everything that I have in my Evernote
4. Re organize my notes and notebooks. Backup and archives old notes and notebook
5. Standardise naming convention through out my notes
6. Add Evernote as one of the tools that I used daily and become part of my workflow

Living a digital lifestyle can be fun and effective. Learning how to use technology is a key to successfully implement digital lifestyle. Evernote is on of many tools, if used effectively can help you out in a long run.

The Lucky Ones by Mark Edwards

Untitled

What the book is all about?
"When a woman’s body is found in the grounds of a ruined priory, Detective Imogen Evans realises she is dealing with a serial killer—a killer whose victims appear to die in a state of bliss, eyes open, smiles forever frozen on their faces.
A few miles away, single dad Ben Hofland believes his fortunes are changing at last. Forced to move back to the sleepy village where he grew up following the breakdown of his marriage, Ben finally finds work. What’s more, the bullies who have been terrorising his son, Ollie, disappear. For the first time in months, Ben feels lucky.
But he is unaware that someone is watching him and Ollie. Someone who wants nothing but happiness for Ben.
Happiness…and death." excerpt from amazon.com
What do I think?

I just finished reading this book last Thursday. I was having trouble concentrating when I started reading the book. I was having trouble of my own and it makes my mind wonder uncontrollably. I always like Mark Edward’s story and characters. Somehow I just can’t get into the story at first. This doesn’t feel like a typical Mark Edward story. Then when I get to know a little bit about Ben, I can totally relate to his situation which is kinda similar with what I am experiencing at the moment. The kind of pain he is going through. And then there’s this serial killer who killed people at their happiest moment. He made this victim very happy before killing them in the end.

I really enjoyed reading this book. I am glad I read it till the end because the ending was epic. It gave me hope that life do happened after a divorce, no matter how ugly the divorce get.

I recommend this book if you like a little bit of mystery and a little bit of thriller. Even though this is not Mark Edward's best work, I still enjoy reading it.

#thursday3 {7.9.2017}

It's Thursday and it's time to document three facts about my life this week. The most horrible thing happened to me this week and I choose not to document them here but to put them in my DayOne App.

I am at my lowest point of my life right now and I discovered something about journaling. It is definitely the best tool in the world to help me deal with emotional turmoil. I just need to find the time to do it and not skip the process. I have been trying Morning Pages for the past few weeks. I am in love with the process and the idea of dumping all of your conscious thoughts on paper is so liberating. Not editing and filtering. Let all of them go, even your darkest thoughts. I can't believe that those dark thoughts and feelings has been inside me for a long time. Admitting them to myself is the first step of letting them go.

#thursday3 (07.09.2017)

#thursday3

1. I have finished reading The Lucky One book by Mark Edward. This book is not one of Mark Edward best work but I still enjoyed the story. I secretly wish that the "Viper" will do what he did to Ben with my current situation. Hehehe...

2. I suddenly feel excited again. Having a plan to be who I wanted to be and what I wanted to do is amazing. I am definitely putting all of my bucket lists of places I want to go into my action for the next five year plan. Thinking and planning about all those exotic places really helps me to focus on the amazing thing in life

3. I am in love with audiobook. Somehow listening to the stories and reading about them gives me the best experience of both world.  I am currently listening to Close to Home by Robert Dugoni. I am excited to find out what Tracie Crosswhite has been up to. I am also have four books in my audiobook queue. I hope I can finished all of them this month.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Think about it this way…If you take one picture and write down three facts each week — at the end of the year you’ll have more than 50 photos of yourself and 150 facts about what life has been like. It would make such an epic All About Me book — and most of the work is already done." - rukristin.com

Scrapbook layout with Affinity Photo

I heard about Affinity Photo on one of digital scrapbook facebook group that I'm on. This app is suppose to be Photoshop killer. The price of this app is way more cheaper than Photoshop. I am always excite to learn new apps and new technology. I got curious to see what this new app can do.

What better way to learn about a new photo app other than making a scrapbook page. It's the best way to learn about effects, text, layers and brushes. It's not easy to find the exact same function in Affinity Photo because they called it differently, like when you want to add images you have to choose Place and if you want to save images as a jpeg format you have to export it. I still can figure out how to cut images once you place them. I still have not explore layer mask and filters.

Day 1: But First .. {30daysoflist}

Welcome to the first day of 30 days of list for September 2017. It's finally here, September the month of change and the month of list. I have been doing this project for the longest time and I have tried many ways to host my lists. This time around I choose a simple notebook with a few touches of colors, washi tape, stickers and project life card to decorate my page. Decoration is an option this time. I had so much fun preparing this notebook. I do miss writing my stories and a physical notebook but the convenient of digital makes me stick to digital for most of my planner and journaling.

This is my take on today's prompt

September is for ..
