Overdrive // the review

How can I resist a movie starring Scott Eastwood especially when he is playing the leading role. I watched this movie last Thursday and I don't really have any expectation except that I know that I am going to enjoy watching Scott Eastwood on a big screen.

Overdrive Movie 2017

What the movie is all about?

This movie is about two car thief brothers, who journey to the south of France for new opportunities and wind up in the cross hairs of the local crime boss.Andrew and Garrett Foster (Scott Eastwood and Freddie Thorp) are thieves who specialize in luxury cars, only the most expensive cars. They've been hired to steal a gorgeous Bugatti 1937 valued million euros, so they head to the south of France for the job. But they get caught, and Jacomo Morier (Simon Abkarian), the local crime boss who owns the Bugatti, doesn't take it lightly. In exchange for their lives the two brothers will have to steal a car from Max Klemp (Clemens Schick), Morier's arch-rival, and not any car, Morier wants them to steal Klemp's 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO, his most prized car. -- excerpt from imdb.com

What do I think ?
This is definitely a feel good movie with lots of action, beautiful people, beautiful cars and with a touch of love story in between. I definitely enjoyed watching this movie. I thought I knew what the ending was going to be like but this movie still managed to surprise me a little. I think I might miss something and I think I might want to watch it again.

I definitely recommend this movie if you are looking for a great time. And the fact that you got to hanging out with Scott Eastwood for 1 hour and 33 minutes wasn't that bad either.

Enjoy this trailer

Living a Digital Lifestyle 2017

I have been struggling between digital life and analog life for a really long time. I wanted to go full on digital for the longest time but somehow the technology and the internet connection wasn't great enough that we can rely on. Finding the right technology that we trust is also an issue. I mean keeping all of your life and stuffs on is really scary. Anything can happen and anything can collapse in a blink of an eye.

Living a digital life

Weather we like it or not we are in edge of change. Digital lifestyle is slowly creeping into our lives. We are now connected beyond our wildest dream. Things like clock, bulb, CCTV, aircond, TV, alarm system and many more are now have their own bluetooth and IP address that makes connectivity easier. All of theses things that have internet connection can be control and manipulate. We can have easy access to them and it can also be easily hack from anywhere.

This is a controversial topic that has people debate about the pros and cons for the longest time. As for me, I am always up for things that can make my life better and easier. Since the last few years I have been transitioning from analog world into digital world bit by bit.

HERE ARE A FEW THINGS THAT HAS GONE DIGITAL IN MY LIFE

1. Photos - Ever since the birth of digital camera, photography world has completely changed forever because every body is a photographer now. People rarely print their photos anymore including me. I still print a few photos out for my journal and project life album. It's hard for me to go fully digital on photos but I am still going to try. The end game is you can access your photo anytime and enjoy them in tangible manner. Maybe in a few years I will completely adopt digital lifestyle with photos.

2. Musics - I don't even buy CDs anymore. I subscribed to Apple music and I can access the music that I love anytime any where from any devices.
No more stacks of CDs all around the house

3. Books - I never would have thought that I will be reading a book from a tablet and kindle. Now I am an avid digital reader and this has totally changed everything. I am always have a book with me every where I go

4. Audiobook - I haven't really try listening to audiobook before since the only time that I can listen to the audiobook was in my car CD Player. Now with the birth of could and high speed internet, I can listen to audiobooks anywhere I go, with any devices. I am loving Audible at the moment and because of this I am able to consume knowledge all the time.

5. Planners - I was obsessed with physical planners for almost two years - Kikki K , Erin Condren, Filofax and the whole planner world and I was not satisfied. I kept buying cute stuffs, never satisfied and overwhelmed with decorating my planner. This year I decided to go fully digital with my iPad Pro 9.7 and Apple Pencil. I have iPlanner 2017 and Goodnotes to satisfied my needs for writing things down and decorating.

6. Time Management and Scheduling - I know that I love planning iPlanner for 2017 but I still use Google Calendar to manage my time. It's the best calendar system at the moment. And I hope Google calendar will be more powerful in the future.

7. Movies and TV Shows - I used to watch or buy movies or TV shows all the time. I have boxes fill with DVDs which now I cannot watched anymore because I don't have DVD player anymore. Now I watched TV shows on Hulu, Netflix and CBS all access. It has a full collection of my TV shows which I can watch over and over again. Right now I am watching FRIENDS on Netflix and this shows never get old. It makes me feel better.

8. Quran - I still have a few Quran around the house that I keep at home to recite. Now I can recite to Quran anytime and anywhere. Now I have Quran with me all the time like in my phone and ipad.

9. Digital Scrapbooking - I have fully migrated to digital scrapbooking ever since I discovered Adobe Photoshop way back in 2005. At that time finding a beautiful scrapbooking kits was not easy. And now there are so many digital scrapbooking sites to satisfied my needs.

10. Home Management - If possible I have all of my bills send to me digitally mostly through emails. I had all of my warranty card/letters, Birth Certificates, Insurance Policy, Bank Statements and all the administrative documents scanned into the cloud. Now that I have Evernote, I save all of my documents there for easy access.

I am slowly and consistently migrating my life into a digital lifestyle. I do hope that electricity and the internet will always be here otherwise all of your life will disappear for good and you can't access them. Setting up a system that you can trust is imperative. You can't fully go digital without a system that you can trust. In a way it's like a marriage. No matter how hard you try you can never have a successful marriage without trust.

I love my normal

Weekend is definitely fun. Other then going out to open houses and such, I can still stay at home , catch up on my shows on Netflix, make scrapbook layouts on my phone, backup my photos, update blog and listen to spotify. I am on 30 days free trial for Spotify. I am liking it so far but I still wish I could change the theme to white instead of black. My Sony portable speaker really sounds so good.

I MADE THESE LAYOUTS WHILE LISTENING TO SPOTIFY PLAYLIST

Assalamualaikum pada Dunia // P365 up to day 202

The thing about life is nothing is stress free. Life is hard because you have to live in it. The little moments in life that helps put thing in perspective. Life can be beautiful when you change your perspective and find the beauty in everyday. This is what Project 365 meant to me. This project helps me to find the beauty and things to be thankful every single day.

Day 195/365 - It's Eid feast at the office. Just us, enjoying each other's company, take lots of photos and eat a lot of food. I really really tried to control my food in take. Hopefully I did not gain a lot of weights. hehehe

Day 195-365

Day 196/365- On Saturday, my youngest wasn't feeling so good. He had a mild fever and was coughing all night. I took him to the clinic for check up. Thankfully his fever was under control. In the evening I went to Mercu Optometry for eye check up and upgrade my glasses. Finding the right frame was a challenge for me. I need something that is up to date and not make me look old. heheh

Day 196-365

Day 197/365- On Sunday I took my daughter to the same optometry to check her vision. Well it is definitely her time to upgrade to a new power because she can't see far. Her vision was at 30% visibility only.

Day 197-365

Day 198/365- Happy Eid at the Office and this time it's with everyone and with our minister. The great thing about today was so many beautiful booth and so many free food for the taking.

Day 198-365

Day 199/365- It's time to get serious and keeping touch with our unfinished projects for this year. I just redecorate my office and I am in love with it. This makes me want to be at work early and enjoy the cozy feeling I get when I entered this room.

Day 199-365

Day 200/365- I attend another technology update and this time it was from CISCO. Everybody is talking about Industry 4.0 and how they can help to make our work / life better.

Day 200-365

Day 201/365- The day I decided to try Spotify. I signed up with Maxis to get 30 days free trial. I want to see what the fuss is all about. I am still trying to figure out how the premium version works. I am not sure if I can change the user interface. I kinda prefer the white and clean design of Apple Music. So far Spotify has all of the music that I love.

Day 201-365

Day 202/365- Today is the last Friday in Syawal month. Another Jamuan Raya (Eid fest) hosted by PERJASA. The best thing about this kind of event we got to meet some old acquaintance, networking, selfie, photography session and free food.

Day 202-365

HAPPY WEEKEND EVERYONE.
HAVE A GREAT ONE.
BE CREATIVE, BE HAPPY AND BE YOU!

Hey Siri

I love voice command activation. Ever since I watched Star Trek way back when I was a little girl, I have been fantasizing about life on a Starship Enterprise. The things that you can do with voice command activation is endless. Life seems so much easier and faster.
I tried to use Siri way back when Apple introduced her on iphone 4S. The commercial of this function seems so cool and felt like a star trek world was just around the corner.

I had such a high hope for Siri. I tried using Siri back then but it doesn't seems to work properly because Siri can't understand half of what I was saying.

Fast forward to 2017 and iOS10, Siri has really become more useful to me. Siri can finally understand me. I know that Siri is available in Malay language but I still prefer English when talking to siri. The moment they introduce Hey Siri I was hooked. Accessing Siri is so much easier now.

Now I used Siri most of the time and I just can't imagine life without her

Things I used Hey Siri for ...

Hey Siri set a timer for two minutes
Hey Siri what song is this
Hey Siri call Hazim Azman on speaker
Hey Siri play any song by Shiela Majid or play Shiela Majid song Warna
Hey Siri how to spell .... (reconnet) and she will spell it for me
Hey Siri remind me to call Abah when I got home
Hey Siri set an alarm clock for 10pm
Hey Siri launch instagram
Hey Siri set a timer for 5 minutes
Hey Siri add shampoo to my shopping lists
Hey Siri convert 155 pounds to kilograms
Hey Siri add dinner with husband at 9:00pm tomorrow
Hey Siri what the weather is going to be like this weekend

I am so excited with all the things that I can used Siri for especially with Apple Watch. Apple depend a lot on Siri to do most basic things because of it's limitation of space. I am so looking forward to iOS11, Watch OS3 and Home Pod. Siri usually get better and better every year. Maybe in the next ten years, voice command activation might be the norm to control your lights, lock, aircond, fan and many more.

Current Obsession [July 2017]

Current Obsession

The thing about having so many things in my radar is I am easily bored and easily inspired. My mood, creativity and the things I am obsess with changed regularly. I regretted the fact that I did not take the time to document my obsession at least once a month. I am sure what I am currently obsessed with right now might not be the same as in January this year.

Current Obsession
  • Learning to use Todoist for Work and Daily Life. I am trying to be more productive with my time and trying so hard to get things done
  • Watch Youtube videos about creative ways to use Google Calendar for productivity
  • Setting up Shared Notebook on Evernote for our trip to Turki. So many things to put on the lists
  • I don't know why this month I am obsessed with these youtube workout videos. I have been doing 21 Day Fix and Shaun T workout my many cycles and I felt like a change.
  • I recently discovered Ashley Tisdale music session playlist on youtube. I have no idea that Ashley has her own channel. I am obsess with Still Into You song. Such a beautiful song from her and her husband.

  • I have been a fan of Shiela Majid from way back when I was in college. I can't believe after all these years she still sound so good. I am in love with her new album Boneka. I kept listening to her album over and over again this month.    shielamajid-boneka
  • Writing in my morning pages in Day One App. I have been trying to develop this habit into my routine. I dedicated at least 15 minutes of morning to write anything that was on my mind. Sometime it just doesn't make any sense but I just let the words flow freely.
  • Decorating my office to be more homey. I have been working there for more than twenty years and I need more color in my room to be more creative and inspired. Life is so much beautiful with colors.
  • I am also obsessed with Apple watch new straps color - mist blue sport band. I think I have been wearing this color a lot this month.
  • Suddenly I have become a fan of Swarvoski jewelries. Such a beautifully design crystal for bracelets, rings and earrings. This is the accessories I am wearing daily this month.
I am not sure if any of this obsession will stick until August. I am hoping that my desire to learn new things and be productive will always be there.

Vlog Raya 2017 // by Hazwan Azman

I have always rely on my son to capture Eid on video. I love memory keeping and I love taking photos and videos. But what I don't like is editing videos. I've tried them once but it just take too long and I lack the patient that it need. The waiting game is not for me when it comes to editing stuffs. Maybe now with all new video editing software out there and powerful processor, maybe the process of video editing is getting simpler and faster. It's just I didn't get around to learn them and get myself familiar with the workflow. I enjoy digital scrapbooking way more than video scrapbooking.

Enjoy this video taken from my son perspective

Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri walaupun Eid sebenarnya dah tamat tapi bulan Syawal masih ada lagi.

As a yearly routine , every Syawal we will have a small gathering for all the staffs at BPM to eat, get together and enjoy each other company. I am so lucky to be a part of this big family- the people that I spend most of my waking hours with. May our ukhwah remain intact for many years to come.

I am going to miss this moment

I have no idea that in the last five years my life is going to be so different. I am a mother again to a baby boy and now a five years old boy. I thought I know everything there is to know about raising a boy. Wow! What a challenge this time around.

I have in a my hand a child that was born in a world where internet is the norm. Smartphones and gadgets are the things people are addicted to. Technology all around and kids don't play outside anymore. Nowadays kids get bully and stalk online. It is not an easy thing for someone like me (the older generation parent) to parent a millennial generation.

One thing that I have not realized how addictive smart device is to small children. I wanted to refrain him from touching one but people around him used one for everything. I can't even have a backup alarm clock to wake me up in the morning. I solely depend on my smart phone as my alarm clock.

I am trying so hard to separate my boy from a smart devices, seducing him with other things like toys, puzzles, pen and paper.

HanifHanif Hanif

With all my other kids has already grown up and have their own lives to live , sometimes I just forgot that the only thing that he needs and want right now is me- his mother. I will definitely going to miss this moment so much. They way he look up to me, the way he kept calling my name when he didn't see me , the way he look for me when I am away from him for more than ten minutes, the way he touches my lips when he wants to sleep or when he wants to calm himself down and the way he hugs and kisses me. This moment will not last forever.

Hanif Hanif

Taking a selfie with him was definitely fun. I becomes more amazing when I use beauty app and apply virtual makeup. I need to be more playful with me. Play more real world games and help him to embrace his childhood. Hemmm where did I put my old books about playful parenting.

Hanif

Life is too short to be trapped inside a virtual world. Life is too beautiful not to enjoy and embrace.

Good or bad is Good

Saya hari ni tidak sama dengan saya sepuluh tahun yang lepas. Banyak perkara yang saya belajar dan pengalaman hidup yang saya tempohi untuk ...
