Day 177:365 Second Syawal at Bukit Batu. I love this place. There are so many beautiful place for a beautiful photoshoot. We also visit my aunt at Parit Kemang. She looks like my mom. I miss my mom so much. Day 178:365 Third Syawal and I was introduced to Bukit Batu Laut. I never knew that this place exist. Day 179:365
The day we left for JB from Bukit Batu. Saying goodbye to my in laws, nieces, nephews and grandchildren (this is what happened when your nieces and nephews got married and have kids hehehe)
Day 180:365 At JB before heading back to Kuala Lumpur. I love this outfit from Hanna Tajima latest collection. I think I might grab another color.
Day 181:365
The most historical event of my life! This is the day I finally bought my first macbook pro. I have been putting this laptop in my wish lists like forever. I can't believe that finally today I am able to buy one for myself. It's the new 2017 edition. I have been doing a lot of research and review on this machine and decided on the 13" model with touch bar. I am not sure how useful the touch bar will be but I am hoping that I will get use to it soon. Oh I also bought the infamous airpod. This device work so well with all the apple device. I can't wait to try it.
Eid Mubarak to all Muslim all over the world. This year it feel a bit different because the end of an era is here and I am not sure if I am ever ready for it. I can't believe that things are not the same anymore. Many relatives and friends are not longer with us. More and more people I know have passed away. Life is too precious to waste it on being sad and being someone you are not. I intend to be more open to the possibilities of doing something different.
Reen found this old photos of me and my office mates way back in 2004. I thought I could remembered all of the faces in here but it turned out some of them have left KTPK early and I can't remembered their names. Luckily En Zul still remembers their name.
Day 26//Ramadandaily day 172/365
It's my birthday and I am so glad that I am able to celebrate this day with people that I love and in the month of Ramadan.
Day 27//Ramadandaily day 173/365
Today is the last day of work for me before going for a long holiday. What better way to spend the last day of work other than last minute shopping at Alamanda during lunch break. And I discovered that Apple store theme is green and has Hari Raya theme going on.
Day 28//Ramadandaily day 174/365
Alhamdulillah the traffic was great today. We arrived at Batu Pahat in less than 3 hours. We spend the night at Bukit Batu for the second last day of iftar and my son wanted to help out in the kitchen.
Day 29//Ramadandaily day 175/365
Today is the last day of Ramadan. Alhamdulillah I am able to spend it with my family at Kampung Istana. This is going to be the last time we break fast at this house.
I was 45yesterday and today I am 46. I didn't feel any different than yesterday. Alhamdulillah I am still alive today to celebrate this day, the day my mother gave birth to me. She may not be here today but she is always in heart. She lives through me. I am her legacy. Thank you Allah for every thing.
And as always every year on my birthday I like to make a gratitude lists to reflect on all the good things in my life. Life is beautiful you just have to look for it. I am thankful for…
I am still alive to celebrate my 46 birthday
Alhamdulillah my birthday this year is still in the month of Ramadan
I love reading and I am so thankful that there are so many stories out there waiting for me to read and explore.
memory keeping in 21st century is so complex and simple at the same time and I totally love it!
all my children
a thoughtful and loving husband
iPhone 7 plus is my go tool for productivity and creativity
audible is amazing.
21 day fix extreme is the workout program I do every time I want to jumpstart my fitness routine
electricity because without it I will be out of job.
Quran Majeed app. I just love reciting on this app, the font is so well crafted and my bookmarks are sync through all of my devices.
Apple Watch 2 because this smart watch has totally improve my lifestyle. I can't imagine life without it anymore.
CBS all access is the place I go to, to discover new favorite series like Man with a Plan, the Odd Couple, Life in Pieces and Kevin Can Wait.
Khatam Quran at the office and most of the people that join are girls. Finding the right combination of clothing was easy. These are my Tadarus team for 2017. I really have fun reciting Quran with them. I hope we can do it again next year. May Allah grant us the health to meet Ramadan again.
I have been using the apple watch ever since 2015 when it was first introduced. I love wearing watch so naturally I was curious about a smart watch. I bought a rose gold 38mm model. As always the first generation of anything is not as good as the latest edition. Back then the battery life was horrible and I have to constantly charge it. At that time my goal was to loose weight and I wasn't benefit as much in terms of being active because I cannot constantly see my steps without draining the battery life.
Early 2016 I bought a fitbit alta because most of youtubers were talking about it and that device looked so cute. I slowly ditching my apple watch for fitbit alta and I was missing my Michael Kors watch so much.
And then in late 2016, apple watch series 2 was born and I am falling in love with this device once again. I just cannot bring myself to ditch rose gold color so this time around I decided to get Apple Watch Series 2 42mm instead. I feel like I am going to need a larger screen for the things I wanted to do. ]
The second generation is a game changer for me. Ever since I put on the watch, I have been wearing it constantly and I just can't live without it. I have ditched my fitbit all together. I am amaze with the battery life and all the things that this watch can do for me. I think Watch OS 3 has something to do with it. With the new OS you can use your photo as a watch face. Not only that you can add complication as well. A lot of third party application has also made available on the apple watch which make your day to day life much more simpler and easier.
On a daily basis I use my Apple watch for
making calls while I was driving
taking calls when I am away from my phone
my alarm clock when I take an afternoon nap
tracking my steps - I used pedometer app
tracking my activities and workouts with apple workout app
login to my iMac
alert for solah
as a remote for my apple tv
remote for my iphone camera - it comes in handy when I want to take selfie with the back camera
pinging my phone when I forgot where I put it especially when it was lost some where in my handbag
I have not yet used my apple watch to set reminders, adding things to my checklist or todoist, adding notes and ideas to evernote or draft. I might slowly migrate that workflow to my watch sometime in the future.
Other than the obsession with the watch I am also obsess with apple watch bands. I have used the band from apple and other third party brand , I still preferred the brand from apple especially for the sport band and the nylon band.
I am looking forward to WatchOS4 which I think is so much cooler. I really need Siri ability as a translator ( this feel like a Star Trek theme). Maybe Siri will evolve and become a universal translator.
I totally agree with what Andrew said in this video. Nothing can beat apple yet in smart world market. There's nothing like it. Apple watch is definitely the best accessory for your iphone. - like the apple pencil is to ipad pro. I highly highly recommend Apple Watch to everyone who has an iPhone. You will not disappoint.
It's Sunday and I have the urge to go shopping for Apple watch band. I have been obsessing over this lavender band every since I saw them on Apple website. Too bad they don't have a matching iPhone 7 plus case.
Remember last month I posted about our hiking adventure at Chemerong, Berembun and Langsir, Terengganu?
This video compilation was taken from our team camera and videos. I am beyond excited to relive these moment again and again and again. Even though I am not excited about the hike, I am beyond ecstatic with the view. So beautiful!! I wish I could be there right now.
Shout out to my son Hazwan for these beautiful video.
It's registration time for my boy. It the first day of the rest of his college years. Hopefully college life agrees with him. May Allah guide him and lead him to the right and successful path.
(break fast at BoraOmbak Marina Putrajaya, sponsored by HP)
This might be the last time we went to dinner (a.k.a break our fast ) with our big boss. He has a few days left before he retire from public service. I am a bit jealous because I also felt tired of working. Work doesn't give me joy anymore. It's a challenge to makes sense of everything. I do hope that the centralisation of IT become a reality and one day we will have our own department. IT is stronger when we are together.
1. I am currently reading The Fix by David Baldacci. It's the third book of Amos Decker series. I totally enjoy reading about Amos Decker stories. It's a mystery/thriller genre but it has a lot of heart. David Baldacci is definitely made into the list of my favorite author of all time.
2. Alhamdulillah I have made it to Day 20 of Ramadan. Not many people have the opportunity to complete their fasting and Ramadan journey. Some of us got taken by Allah either by illness or deadly accident.
3. iPad Pro 10.5" is still not available for order in Malaysia yet. I am waiting patiently for them to be available here. In the mean time I am wanting the new apple watch nike band in lavender color. So so pretty.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Think about it this way…If you take one picture and write down three facts each week — at the end of the year you’ll have more than 50 photos of yourself and 150 facts about what life has been like. It would make such an epic All About Me book — and most of the work is already done." - rukristin.com ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
It's so cold inside my office up to a point that I am shivering even with a jacket on. I decided to soak in the heat from the sun, so I went outside and do my work on my ipad. At this point in my life (where I don't really create content a lot) I mostly do some editing and monitoring stuffs, it's so convenient to do them on my ipad. Using computer felt a little bit cumbersome now.
I am happy with the amount of books I have read so far. I may not have a lot of time to read but I do allocate a few minutes a day for reading or listening to the audiobook of the same book. When I got suck into the make believe world sometimes it's hard to get out of
HERE ARE A FEW BOOKS I've READ Memory Man by David Baldacci (LOVE)
I read the audiobook and the ebook version Memory Man. I really enjoyed the book. It's an interesting take on a detective stories. I have read a lot of detective stories over the years but nothing like Amos Decker. Only a unique person like him can survived the trauma of watching all of his family killed by someone from his past. I will definitely read the second and the third book of Amos Decker series.
After Memory Man I can't seem to get enough of Amos Decker. I tried to read Illuminae but I just can't fall in love with that world yet. I still want to know what happened to Amos Decker when he went to Quantico.
The Last Mile is the second book of Amos Decker series and it's the first book of him in his new job in a special team in FBI. His determination in finding the truth about what happened to Melvin Mars parents really help saves Melvin Mars lives. Even though this suppose to be a thriller genre but it has a lot of emotions and human drama in it. I just can't put it down. It's sad when you really took the time to think about it how a young man's life ruined because he was falsely accused of the murder of his parents and spend twenty years in prison while waiting for his death penalty execution.
This is definitely a psychological thriller book which it's very difficult to follow. It's a bit hard to get into the story at first because there were so many characters narrated as the first person and third person.
Once you recognised the characters and their relationship to each other it's easier to follow.
I can't believe that these kind of stories happened in a town where anybody know everybody. So many death surrounding the town and the river flow through out the town. I just wish that Paula focus more on one main characters and told the story from he or she's perspective. I didn't feel sorry for any of these characters. No one that I connect to on intimate level. A character which I love and don't want anything bad happened to them. Don't get me wrong, I still enjoy reading the story but after it ended these characters did not stay with me.
Currently reading 1. Her Every Fear by Peter Swanson 2. The Fix by David Baldacci
The next book on my reading lists 1. While You Were Sleeping by Kathryn Croft ( I really need to start reading this) 2. Behind Closed Doors by B.A Paris I am looking forward to a good reading month and Eid Mubarak.
It's Tuesday and it's time to look for another new dress for Eid. I stumble upon this new dress design which I think look great. I am happy that I can fit into size 38 loosely. With some design and cutting I can fit into size 36 but most size 36 clothing are a bit tight on my chest area and the shoulder is a bit small. I think I need a size 37 ... heheheh
It's a public holiday for some of the states in Malaysia. Happy Nuzul Quran to all Muslim of the world. I decided to have an early morning, shopping at Alamada with my daughter. I ended up buying this sunglasses as a prop for Eid photoshoot and selfie. I can't see a thing with this thing on. hehehe...
I have Day One app and I use this app regularly. One of the beautiful feature they have this notification "On this day" , which allow you to see what happened on this day a few years back. One of my entry in 2014 was the photo of my son's feet. How small and little those cute feet and they fit on my palm. Now in 2017 those feet are getting bigger and they don't fit in my palm anymore. He is five years old already and very much aware of this surrounding, what he can and cannot do and what his likes and dislikes.
It's Friday and what better way to spend my long lunch break other than shopping at Sephora. I bought a few skin care product. I have plan to make a makeup purchase for Eid. I have not buy any foundation in a really long time and I have no idea which one is the best. I have my heart set on the lancome foundation but I have not done any research. Note to self, check out youtube videos for review on this foundation.
1. I am currently reading Into the Water by Paula Hawkins. It's a bit weird reading this book after have read Memory Man and The Last Mile by David Baldacci. I really have to focus and once I've recognised the characters I just can't stop listening.
2. I have managed to loose at least 2.2kg since fasting. It's not an easy kilos to loose. Hopefully I can loose a few more by the end of the month.
3. I am excited for iPad Pro 10.5" and iOS 11. Now I definitely did not see the reason to buy a macbook pro even though I wanted to have one so badly. I cannot wait for Fall. I am not brave enough to install iOS11 Beta because I use my ipad every single day and I don't want to deal with a buggy iOS.

Day 12 of Ramadan - Work work work - It's still cold like Spring time in the office. I am doing the best that I can to loose weight. Not so easy to do even though during fasting. I need to increase my water intake. I think I drink less water. Discussions and meetings go on as usual. Nothing much change. I joined Tadarus Quran group at the office. I just realise how much I enjoy this activity. I am thinking of continuing withn Tadarus Quran activity outside of Ramadan month. Quran should be apart of our daily lives, should be part of our lifestyle , not only happen in Ramadan.
I am so excited with WWDC 2017 this year. So many new hardware and new software coming up this fall. I alway wonder when is exactly Fall? - September? October?
I am so looking forward to WWDC event since March this year. Even though I can't wait, I did not stay up late at 1:00 am Malaysia time to watch it. I still need my beauty sleep. Watching delayed telecast is equally exciting!
What I am excited about?!!
finally Amazon Prime is available on Apple TV. I wonder if iflix will be on Apple TV.
watchOS 4 is definitely is a nice upgrade. Finally I can have music on my apple watch, more than one playlist. And the workout app can have it's own playlist. This definitely will be useful when I decided to run and listen to a specific playlist for running.
the name macOS high Sierra is a little bit weird. I am not sure if it's the best name. They will have a new Apple File System which I am not really sure if I can easily copy and paste files between my mac and windows file system without third party software. I do hope I can copy files seamlessly between mac and windows like when using Dropbox.
the new iMac definitely beautiful inside and out. Macbook and Macbook Pro also get an upgrade. I definitely wanted one of these. And that is before I watched iPad Pro 10.5"
Oh My God! This is the device that I have been waiting for, all my life! I totally forgot why I want the macbook pro now. This new iPad work with iOS 11 like a charm. I can how these new features can really improve my productivity to the next level. I can totally see myself using this device all the time. Seriously! I might get smart keyboard with this one. It's kind sad that they stop production for 9.7" ipad but I can totally understand why.
iOS 11 can an amazing upgrade - love the iMessage, Apple Music, App Store and Notes on iPad Pro is so damn cool. Control Centre looks great with 3D touch feature.
Less storage for photos?!! I am up for it and I just hope the file format is universal enough to be use everywhere.
Surprisingly I like the Apple Map but not for direction while driving. I still love Waze for the that. I mostly like Apple Map for direction when I am walking. The integration with the Apple watch makes it so much easier to follow.
I also love the new wallpaper, so pretty.
I still love Apple Music. I like the simplicity of it and I know how to use it.
Siri definitely sound great. I use siri most of the time and I definitely digging the ability to translate languages. I hope all of the languages will make it to siri including Malay. That will definitely feel like a Star Trek movie.
I am so excited to get HomePod. Too bad it will not be available in Malaysia this year. Hopefully this will not be delayed for another year like the Apple watch. I will definitely add this to my ecosystem.
In conclusion, I will definitely upgrade all of my devices when the new softwares are available to the public sometime in Fall.
Anyway what do you think about the new updates? Do you excited about it? Or you just don't care? Leave a comment below and let me know what you think?
Yesterday I share how I can recite Quran from apple watch and today I discovered that I can play Quran recital on Apple TV. And I can listen to my favorite reciter - Mishary Rashid Alafasy. His voice is so soothing especially when he recites surah Alfatihah and AlKahfi. I just can't get enough. Now I just don't have any reason not to listen to Quran anymore.
It's magic. Who knew one day people will be reciting Quran from their smart watch. Back in 2015 when Apple Smart watch was introduced people has mixed feelings about it. I love it. I am always a watch person and I love writs watch. So naturally I would buy one. Now after using the watch for almost two years I can honestly say that this watch has improve my lifestyle. Other than using the watch to tell time, I can use it to count my steps, plan my day, call my kids, use as a remote for my camera phone and for my apple tv and I can use the watch as my alarm. Now I rarely ware any other watch. I even ditch my fitbit charge for this. I solely ware apple watch as my main watch.
I always love my day off from work. I love the freedom of not rushing out to work in the morning for the sake of punching in the time attendance card. What is that? Hard copy yellow Punch card for work in the 21st century?!! Hemm.. That is another debate for another time. Anyway, today I have the time to do what matter most like reciting Quran anytime I want and listening to Quran recital. I am falling in love with the Quran all over again.
Lately I have been wondering what happened to the world today. Violence and taking matter into our hands have become the things people do in the name of justice.
It really bother me a lot when the things that we fight for are more for personal agenda and not for Islam or for Allah. I feel so sick with the news and my Facebook feed with all the news about bullies, terrorist attacks, bombing and many other violence things people do to each other. Besides the physical abuse we also participate in verbal or written abuse. Leaving hate comments on things or people that we don't like for the sake of saying something. If we don't have any good thing to say about somebody it's better not to say anything at all. The art of giving advice has lost on us. We want to right the wrong but we forgot to be nice.
What happened to just being kind? Is it something that we have unlearned or is it something that we never really learn? Hemmmmm
We seems to forget how Allah teaches the people before us about slaves. The way Allah band slaves from the society was not by killing all the people that owned slaves at once but by adding "free a slave" as one of the thing that we can do to pay for our sins. Over time there are no more slaves to free. Now we have become a society without slaves. There are many beautiful examples like this in Islam, we just have to look at our Prophet Muhammad. How kind he was to others who wrong him, how kind he was to his children and grandchildren.
It's something to think about, to think hard and to implement in our daily lives. Just be kind. If Allah can be kind to us than why can't we? (photo credit - taken from Over app)
Be Kind to yourself Be Kind to others Be Kind to wild life Be Kind to other animals Be Kind to your enemies Be Kind to people who wrong you Be Kind to children Be Kind to your possession Be Kind to your wife Be Kind to your husband Be Kind to your facebook friend Be Kind to your leader Be Kind to your boss Be Kind to your employees Be Kind to your family Be Kind to your virtual friends Be Kind to your social media followers Be Kind to your body Be Kind to your soul Be Kind to your home Be Kind to strangers JUST BE KIND ..... with your words ..... with your actions ..... with your thoughts ....... with your mind
It's day 7 and it's Friday. Even though fasting I am still doing everything that I can to keep moving and stay active. I am not going to push myself like crazy but I will not be lazy and stay stationary all day long. It is still very important to take care of your health and be fit especially during fasting month. I am trying to watch what I eat during iftar so that I will not feel tired for night time routine during Ramadan.
It's Ramadan month is Islamic calendar and Muslims all over the world is fasting
My birthday this month
School holidays
I am doing another round of 21 day fix extreme this month. This time around it's a little bit harder. Maybe because I have not doing this workout in a long time
Looking forward to WWDC 2017. I can't wait what kind of new technology they will reveal at the event
I am looking at the varieties of apple watch band at Lazada. I am obsess with the apple watch band this month
I am obsess with Amos Decker series. I am currently reading The Last Mile the second book of the series.
I am currently watching Odd Couples Season 1 on CBS. The show seems promising.
So many summer movies are playing at the cinema and I will not have the time to watch them during Ramadan
One of the best way to beat the sleepiness in the afternoon is to do some coloring. What better way to do them other than on your ipad pro + apple pencil with Pigment app. I just love coloring and this way I can color to my heart content without making any mess.
