#thursday3 [29.09.2016]

I can't believe that the last time I did this challenge was in August. September seems to pass me by so fast. Oh boy! Tomorrow is the last day of September and by Saturday, October is here.

HERE ARE MY PHOTO AND FACTS FOR THE WEEK

1. September is a crazy month for me. School holidays, Eid Adha, Apple September event, Bangkok Trip and many more. I am drooling over iPhone7plus and Apple watch series 2. I might not get the iPhone 7 plus but I am definitely buying the new apple watch

2. I am currently reading In the Clearing by Robert Dugoni, the third book in Tracy Crosswhite series. I just finished reading the One Thing by Gary Keller, Jay Papasan.

3. Loosing the last 3 kg and keep it off is the hardest thing ever! I have tried a lot of things but nothing seems to work.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Think about it this way…If you take one picture and write down three facts each week — at the end of the year you’ll have more than 50 photos of yourself and 150 facts about what life has been like. It would make such an epic All About Me book — and most of the work is already done." - rukristin.com

Geng Panjat Tangga 2016 Photo book Part 6

Shredding off the last few kilos is the toughest thing ever! I can't seem to get the weight off for good. I have to up my this week and try to move as much as possible and try to hit 10,000 steps as soon as possible in the day.

Climbing the stairs at work is one of the activity I enjoy doing daily. I am lucky that I work at the beautiful place and the stairs are open air. The view is amazing from the top.

HERE ARE MY SCRAPBOOK LAYOUTS FOR THIS PROJECT AT THE MOMENT

5 things that stuck with me // The One Thing book review

I finally finished reading The One Thing book by Gray Keller and Jay Papasan yesterday. I was curious to know more and this book was everywhere on the internet.

(not my photo. taken from the goodsuccess)

It took me awhile to finish the book due to long holidays and vacation time. I have no problem picking up where I left off. The One thing book is all about FOCUS and my one little word for this year is all about FOCUS. This is the right book for me to sharpen my word for this year.

After reading this book these five things really stuck with me

#1. “What’s the ONE Thing you can do such that by doing it everything else will be easier or unnecessary?”  The question seem simple and yet not an easy one to answer.
The more I think about this the more it make sense. I have been struggling with loosing weight for as long as I can remember. It seems so out of reach. And then this year I bought myself a fitness tracker to track my 10,000 steps in a day. By choosing just one thing to focus on (in this case is 10,000 steps a day) everything else will be easier like burning 500 active calories and eating right.

#2. This book is all about Begin with the end in mind.
When you know you want to achieve at the end of your life, you will set your path and your goal in the direction of your goal.

#3. The Four thieves of your productivity really stuck with me
The four thieves are not able to say no, fear of chaos, poor health habits and unsupportive environment. You should be aware of these four thieves and try to stay away from them as much as you can.

#4. The six lies that cause us to loose focus.
The six lies discuss in this book are:
 - everything matters equally
I agree with this because things that matter most must never be at the mercy of things that matter least.
 - multitasking
 - a disciplined life
 - willpower is always on will-call
 - a balanced life ( this lie really open my eye about a balance life because it doesn't exist. The solution is counter balance)
 - big is bad
He discussed a great length about these six lies in the book which I think is worth the time to read and understand what he meant.

#5. Live with Purpose
"Life isn't about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself" - George Bernard Shaw
The one thing concept is all about creating the life that you want- live by design. By defining your purpose in life, you will set the priority and plan of action to fulfil your purpose.

I highly recommend this book!

Currently reading In the Clearing by Robert Dugoni (the third book of Tracy Crosswhite series).

Super Heroes overload

I have been a fan of DC Comic movies and TV series ever since Smallville. I have been waiting for these TV series to complete their seasons before watching them back to back on Netflix. I am happy that Netflix Malaysia has the whole series of The Flash and Arrow. It's nice to have a place where you can watch your favorite TV series anytime, any where.

Three DC Comic Series I am watching back to back right now

1. Supergirl Season 1
"When I was a child, my planet Krypton was dying. I was sent to Earth to protect my cousin. But my pod got knocked off-course and by time I got here, my cousin had already grown up and become Superman. And so I hid my powers until recently when an accident forced me to reveal myself to the world. To most people I'm assistant at Catco Worldwide Media. But in secret, I work with my adoptive sister for the DEO to protect my city from alien life and anyone else that means to cause it harm. I am Supergirl." Kara Danvers excerpt from imdb.com

It took awhile for me to fall in love with Supergirl. I stopped watching after two episodes because it feels like Supergirl doesn't have anything new since there's already Superman in the picture. I started to enjoy the show after Episode Eight. She's becoming her own person and stronger than ever. I am super excited when there's a cross over from The Flash. I like watching Flash and Supergirl working together. It would be nice to see Supergirl on The Flash for a change.

I am looking forward to Season 2 but I am not sure if I like the idea of Superman on the show. I hate to see Superman over shadow Supergirl. I'm all about girl power.

2. The Flash Season 2

I got to be honest here. I stopped watching season 2 after episode 6 or 7 because I don't really like the storyline of alternate universe, earth 2 and doppelganger. After the crossover of The Flash on Supergirl, I pick up where I left of hoping that I will see Supergirl there. Too bad that didn't happened but I still enjoy watching the rest of Season 2 - it's all about love, family, friendship and the things we do to protect it. I am looking forward to Season 3.

3. Arrow Season 4

After finished with The Flash Season 2, I have to watch Arrow. I wanted to know what happened to Oliver Queen even though it hurts to watch him with Felicity. I think it's too much to ask to see Felicity and Barry Allen together. I still have a long way to go before I've finished this season but I am keeping an open mind.

Legends of Tomorrow
The new TV series from DC that started to grow on me. I've always like story about time machine. I learned a lot about Arrow from this season. I started to like all of the characters from the show including Snart and Mick , the two villain from The Flash.
I can't wait for season 2.

Do you have any TV series that you are watching right now? Please leave a recommendation of other TV series you think I might like. I really appreciate it.

Flash back 1996

The moment Apple announced iPhone 7 and the death of earphone jack, I realised something. I have been dancing with hard disk and DVD technology for the longest time. I didn't make the time to transfer all of my data to the new devices thinking that DVD will be around forever.

I don't want to be the kind of person that regretted not transfer all of my data from a floppy disc to the new devices before you can't find any where for a slot to read your floppy disk.

I know that all new computer comes without DVD drive and I still have data living inside DVD Disc. I know I have to transfer all of data from my discs to other devices like external hard disk or the cloud. In the spirit of not repeating the same mistake twice, I am going to make it my mission to transfer all of my data from my disc to my hard disk.

What better way to begin other than your wedding photos. Wow! This was a long time ago- nineteen years ago to be exact. These were the time when there was no digital camera. I scanned all of these photos and kept them inside a CD room.

Oh boy! Was I that young?!

I missed this. I missed my mom so much. She was the one who insist on the "pelamin" and me dressing up for the event. I am not the kind of girl is comfortable being on stage and have people looking at me.
My next project will be to make a project life layouts of my wedding photos. I am not sure if I remember what happened nineteen years ago but I'm sure going to try.

My advice to all my readers to transfer all of you data and documents from you CDs to the new devices like hard disk or cloud services as soon as possible. You might not have that luxury to do so in the future.

Bangkok trip 2016

I have never been to Bangkok before. It was an impromptu decision to go there during long school holiday. It just me and my husband. We didn't bring the whole family for this trip.

3 days 2 nights
Date: 15 September - 17 September 2016
Malaysian Airlines
Hotel Avani Atrium,Bangkok with free Wifi internet
MaxisOne World Roaming RM38 per day

I didn't plan anything. My main reason for going is definitely shopping for handbag.

Day 1: Arriving at the airport

The traffic is as bad as Malaysia. Our mode of transportation was using taxi. They are every where.

Our hotel view from the taxi.
Beautiful room

The view from our room

Day 2: Shopping time --> at MBK Mall

At Patpong night market

Day 3: Our last day at the hotel after checking out

We have a few hours to kill before our flight back to Kuala Lumpur. Since it's Saturday we went to Chatuchak Weekend market. It was big with about 8000 shop. I don't really like wondering around in this area when it was so hot. I don't know what to get. We ended up going back to MBK mall again.

10 best things // iOS 10

I have been using iOS 10 since it was made available to all last week. I have been waiting for this iOS since it was announced in March 2016. I even tired iOS10 beta version immediately after it was available to all.

All I can say is I am loving the new iOS. For the outside the overall look still look the same as iOS 9.

1. I love the new Apple Music.
Some people might argued this but I just love Apple Music. It has all the music that I love in the library even the old song like "Kain Pelekat" by Anuar & Elina. Who knew after all these years I can still listen to the song that I love growing up. Apple Music makes sense to me and I can use it easily compare to other online music services

2. iMessage is cool again
I always love iMessage more than Whatsup App. I will everybody can experience iMessage and see how cool the app is.

3. Markup on photo
I know I know this is not something new. I just love the markup option for photos available in iOS10. I don't have to use third party app anymore

4. Maps is much better
Apple definitely has improved a lot with maps but I am so sure if I like the part when my phone tell me where I park and I have appointment at 3:00 pm at a certain place and I have to move now if I want to make it. It's so freaky and cool at the same time.

5. Hey Siri, take a selfie
I just love this! Now we are talking.

6. Stickers store in iMessage
I love those stickers store in iMessage that I can use. I have way too much fun playing with it. Stickers makes more sense to me. Emoticon not so much

7. Rise to wake
The Touch ID works so damn good that I can't even have the chance to see the time or the notification. Now I can see them before log in to my phone. It's a small touch that I really appreciate.

8. Sleep features is here
Finally the features that was lacking in iOS sleep feature. I am not sure how it works yet. I have been using fitbit alta to monitor my sleep. It would be nice if I could use Apple watch to monitor my sleep too.

9. Swipe to access camera
I love that now I can just swipe to the left on the lock screen to access the camera. Faster access to the camera is always a good thing when you don't want to miss those photos opportunity right in front of you.

10. Home App
I would have love to use Home App. I am always a fan of a smart home. I am not sure if we have anything available in Malaysia that support Home. It would be cool to be able to control your lamp, microwave, washing machine, refrigerator and many more home appliance. I can't wait for this technology to be available here and affordable.

Overall I am happy with this new upgrade. My experience has been smooth without a glitch. What do you think? Have you upgrade to iOS 10 yet?

10 things Right Now... Because life happens.....

I am not feeling like myself lately. Everything seems a bit off. I have no idea why. Life feels a bit predictable. I do have to remind myself that my life is good and I have to be thankful. Nothing in this world is permanent. I have so many worries and concerns at the moment that kept me awake at night.

(me right now 2016)

1. I am afraid that I am failing as a mother. I just don't know how to be so many things at once.

2. I am worried that I am not giving my all to my family, myself, my religion and my work

3. It has been a really long time since I pamper myself

4. I am missing my mom so much and it hurts. I fantasies about seeing my mother again all the time. I don't know who I am without her.

(me in 2009)

5. I wanted to quit blogging for the longest time but I just can't bring myself to do it. Just like I can't quit my job even though I don't feel like I am doing my best anymore.

6. I can't seems to loose that last 3 kilos as easily as I used to. I need a new strategy to get back in the game.

7. I wanted so bad to own an iPhone 7 plus this year but somehow the price is way too high at the moment. Malaysian Ringgit is so bad right now , I really missed the time when Ringgit was only $3.0 against USD$1.

8. I missed doing the things I used to do and loving it. After awhile I wanted to do something more, I wanted to learn something amazing and creative.

9. I wanted to just sit down and read for pleasure. I haven't got to do this in a really long time. Even during a vacation all I wanted to do was sleep when I am in a hotel.

Take*Over

10. I am loving iOS 10.

Geng Panjat Tangga Photo book Part 5 [ September 2016 ]

September has been the month of less activity and more family time and celebration. I took a week off from work due to a long holidays and school holiday. I am not able to maintain the same amount of steps per week and the same workout schedule.

So today I was so excited to get back into my normal routine again. Climbing the stairs and started doing my morning workout. I started doing 21 day fix extreme again. I wanted to do something different but somehow I can't find the same workout that challenge me like 21 days fix extreme.

Day 2 // the meaning behind your blog name

Day 2- The meaning behind your blog name

I have been blogging for the longest time. It was one of the things that I constantly maintain over the years.

I started blogging way back when blog was meant for online log of your life or day. I love memory keeping and I was intrigue with the idea of keeping a little bit of your life on a blog.

I wasn’t thinking much about what this blog is going to be like. So I named my blog just by using my name. After a while when I discovered digital photography and scrapbooking I decided to make my blog more about my hobbies and all the pretty things around me. So I closed my old blog and make a new one which I called haniz-eyecandy. A place where I can share all things I consider pretty and beautiful.

I have been keeping the same blog for about eight years now. And I have no intention of stopping or closing my blog. This blog was never about money or become famous. It is more about me making a mark in this world and document them as I go. I love memory keeping and I might change the tools and the method of doing it but the main theme is still the same - memory keeping.

I could insert some of the photos in my camera roll in this lists but I decided to just list out the photos in my camera roll. I am not going to make my lists heavier than it should be.

Next best idea // Dancing

I love dancing and I love moving to a great music. Currently I am obsess with this song and this routine. It took me a whole day to get the moves. I wish all workout video is as fun as this dancing routine.

Now I am hunting for dancing routine on youtube and made a playlists. It's a good idea to keep them in a playlists so that I can do all of my favorite routines in one place. My next best idea after taking the stairs at work is to squeeze in a few minutes of dancing routine like this in my daily life.

Day 1 // A recent picture of you and 15 facts about yourself #30DaysOfMe

I found this blog series on http://livingoffloveandcoffee.com/ and I decided to play along. It should be fun to see how I answered these prompts now and compare them to one or two years from now.

Day 1: A recent picture of you and 15 facts about yourself

iphone_photo

1. I am now officially addicted to climbing the stairs at work. It's the best feeling in the world when you can accomplished this one little task every morning.

2. I have update all my mobile devices to iOS 10 and my watch to watchOS3. I am loving the new operating system so far

3. I am contemplating between Daily Burn and Jari Love on demand streaming services. I am always looking for ways to be active and stay active

4. I enjoyed my day off from work. Living a normal and simple life is a bless

5. I still miss my mom so much. There's so much I wanted to tell her.

6. I secretly wish I can create Malay food recipes that can help Malaysian loose weight easily including me.

7. I need to upgrade my clothing

8. Don't hate me but I love Apple Music
