The LaSt DaY of 2016

I just can't believe that today is the last day of 2016. It falls on Saturday and I am already at home after travelling for almost a week for a mini family vacation. I have been neglecting my diet, my workout and my blog for more than seven days. Oh boy! I am hoping that I am able to get everything back in order and set back into my usual routine.

So as always I would have like to document some random lists about things that happened this year and made it into my radar - things I love, things I dislike, things that frightened me, things that brings me joy and many more.

twenty sixteen in Photos

Today will be the last day of work for me. I am going to take a long leave from work and spend the time with my kids. I wanted to take the time to reflect back on my journey in 2016. This definitely feel like a long year for me because so many things happened and so many things I did in my quest for a healthy life style.

I didn't take as many photos as I would have like but with the one I have it's enough to remember what happened in 2016.

HERE ARE MY YEAR IN PHOTOS -    TWENTY SIXTEEN

Health and fitness life style is definitely not a destination - it's a journey. Every single day you have to decide either to eat healthy or not, to move or not, to walk or not. Human body is definitely design to move and stay active.

No Makeup

Make up or no make up is the thing I decide every time I go to work. The reason behind my make up routine not so much to look good but as an inspiration to get up and go to work. Lately I have been skipping a lot of makeup 💄 routine. I just wear serum, moisturiser, bb cream, lipstick, one color eyeshadow and eyeliner. In less than 3 minutes I am ready to go work.
I am not worry anymore because now I wear makeup on my photo 😂 . I currently use InstaBeauty app to put makeup on my photo with little effort.

Broga Hill 18.12.2016

Ending 2016 with a bang has become a theme for me lately especially when it comes to fitness. So yesterday we went to Broga Hill again. It's the second time I went here with my family last October and I am so happy to repeat this activity again.

Geng Panjat Tangga meet again on top of Broga Hill.

One thing that I noticed was there's someone stand by at the entrance to collect RM1 fee. I thought that it was for eco farm visit not for hiking. hemmmm.. Not sure if it's a permanent thing or just temporary.

I See You // book review

I love love love this book. This is the first time I read a book by Clare Mackintosh. I will definitely will read her other books.

What this book is about?

"Every morning and evening, Zoe Walker takes the same route to the train station, waits at a certain place on the platform, finds her favorite spot in the car, never suspecting that someone is watching her...

It all starts with a classified ad. During her commute home one night, while glancing through her local paper, Zoe sees her own face staring back at her; a grainy photo along with a phone number and a listing for a website called FindTheOne.com.

Other women begin appearing in the same ad, a different one every day, and Zoe realizes they’ve become the victims of increasingly violent crimes—including murder. With the help of a determined cop, she uncovers the ad’s twisted purpose...A discovery that turns her paranoia into full-blown panic. Zoe is sure that someone close to her has set her up as the next target.

And now that man on the train—the one smiling at Zoe from across the car—could be more than just a friendly stranger. He could be someone who has deliberately chosen her and is ready to make his next move" excerpt from amazon.com

What do I think about the book

I read the book without really know what the story is all about. I was a bit confused in the beginning because I am not used to the writing style. This book follow two main characters, one told in the first person and another told in a third person. It took me awhile to identify which is which. When you get the hang of the style, it's easier to follow the story and be frighten by what happened to Zoe. The thought that someone somewhere is watching your every move is a bit too scary for me. Cyber staking is scary and it's a real thing.

I highly recommend this book. This definitely made it to my top favorite book of this year

Beautiful December

I am so ready to take a long leave. December is definitely not the month to embark on any new projects at work. It's school holiday time and I can't wait to wrap up the year and start a new year.

dec-2016

Things that I do to prepare for new year
1. Choose my 2017 planner. I decided to go digitally with iPlanner 2017 Daily and a bullet journal. I am in love with bullet journal system
2. Plan for a mini vacation
3. Redecorate my office. I did this little ritual almost every year.
4. Back to school shopping
5. I am so looking forward to 2017. I pray and hope that 2017 will be the year of prosperity and wealth
6. Decide on a colour scheme or a theme for new year family photo shoot. The colour that has been lingering on my mind right now is purple and lime green
7. finished up my 2016 project, print out photo book and back up my 2016 photos
8. decide on 2017 projects - Project 365, Project 52
9. choose 2017 one little word
10. donate old clothing to make room for a new one

It really takes a lot of endurance, commitment and passion to be where I am right now. Life hasn't be easy for me. I have been bless with beautiful friends, family, co worker and beautiful place that I can call home which helps to make life a little be easier and beautiful. I have so much faith and hope that 2017 will be awesome!!!

I am in love with Josh Gallagher . I will definitely buy his album.

Me at the end of 2016

2016 is one of the best year so far. I am focusing more on things that matter the most to me. I love my word for 2016 - FOCUS. Ali Edward really helps me to connect with my word and dig deep.

So this month I decided to join Autumn in the challenge "Your Fitness Journey with Autumn" group. Ending the year with a bang is something I would love to do. One of the things that I FOCUS on this year is health and fitness. The program that is recommended in this group is to start with 21 day fix, The Master Chisel, 21 day fix extreme and end the challenge with Country Heat. It's a journey that will end in March 2017.

I have done 21 day fix and 21 day fix extreme earlier this year. I am loving the results. I haven't try The Master Chisel which I am definitely going to try doing by the end of the month. I am still not sure if I am able to do them because the whole week after Christmas is going to be tough.

I decided to do 21 day fix extreme instead of 21 day fix and I add on Country Heat in the mix because I am obsess with the routine.

This is my schedule for the next three weeks

I am not sure if I have the time to workout on the last week of December. If I can't follow the Master Chisel schedule, I might do Country Heat only because those workout doesn't require any equipment. I might able to squeezed them in early in the morning. I am hoping that I will not gain any kilos during those long holidays.

As for diet plan, I am having trouble following everything suggested just because the food we eat here is very different. I am trying to follow the guide as close as possible but I am not sure if it will work the same. (I am hoping that it does) What I can do is to be aware of the food I put in my body all the time. I am also adding Green Tea daily (except in the weekend) in the mix. Hopefully it's enough to burn fat and build lean muscle. I think I need more protein in my diet because I am not getting enough in a day.

My Goal for this week :

1. Hit 12,500 steps a day
2. Drink Green Tea daily
3. Limit to one cup of coffee a day
4. 60 seconds of Low Plank a day
5. Do at least once 10 minutes Abs
6. Running outside during weekend
7. Replace dinner with Protein Shake
8. Follow my December Schedule

The motivation for this blog post is to keep myself accountable. No one can make me happy and healthy except me (with Allah helps of course). Du'a is also important. You have to ask Allah for what you want. May Allah bless me in my fitness journey.

Hopefully this post will motivate you to stay active and have a plan in place to achieve them. Fitness is a journey, not a destination.

Happiness is ...

When you are outside with nature and not stuck behind a computer. I can't believe how beautiful my place of work is. I have been working here for more than six years and I have never notice or take the time to appreciate the landscape and the building. Some times it is good to take a pause, smell the flowers and unplug.

This activity alone (walking around) bought me about 3,000 steps in less than 10 minutes. The weather was cool and a bit wet because it was raining this morning. This is definitely one of the activity that we are going to repeat weekly.
