#thursday3 [30.04.2015]

Today is the last day of April 2015. I am so looking forward to my long weekend. I decided to do something different for this project. I design the page using my current journal and write all about #thursday3 fun facts .

HERE ARE MY PHOTO AND FACTS FOR THE WEEK

----------------------
Think about it this way…If you take one picture and write down three facts each week — at the end of the year you’ll have more than 50 photos of yourself and 150 facts about what life has been like. It would make such an epic All About Me book — and most of the work is already done." - rukristin.com

GoodNotes App for beginner

Hello lovelies. How are you today? I am so excited to share with you about an app that I have been using a lot lately on my iPad. The app is called GoodNotes. I have mention GoodNotes App a lot in my blog and on my instagram. This is definitely one of my favourite note taking apps on the iPad at the moment.

I got asked a lot of questions about what planner I used when I posted these photos on Instagram and Facebook group.

The question I got the most is what apps I used for my digital planner. The answer is I used Key Life Planner Inserts from Digitallyspeaking.net and the "binder" is GoodNotes Apps. Before I make a tutorial about how I make my dashboard pretty, I have to introduce you to GoodNotes first.

*Note: This is not a sponsored blog post. I am just a fan who has been using GoodNotes on a daily basis.

What is GoodNotes?

GoodNotes is a note taking app for your iPad and iPhone. You can write and type your notes in this app. You can also annotate on pdf file through this app. I have used and tried a lot of note taking apps on my iPad, so far I find that GoodNote app is simple and clean for my daily use.

Which platform does GoodNotes support?

At this moment this app available on iPad and iPhone. I am not sure if this app will be available on Android.

GoodNotes features
(that I enjoy using so far)

  • it support handwritten notes. I use Adonit Jot Touch Stylus for this.
  • the ability to annotate on pdf file is the best part and which allow me to use digital planner or inserts. I don't have to print anymore
  • all you pens colors are with you all the time. At the moment the app only support fountain pen and ball pen
  • you can import and export your notes to Dropbox and Evernote
  • you can set auto backup all your notes to Dropbox or Google Drive
  • this app support images in jpeg and png format, so you can add images in your notes
  • you can also made custom papers and set them as template to be use over and over again
  • you can also crop the images right in the app
The most important thing about a note taking app is the pleasure in writing on them. The look and feel of writing on a piece of paper must be there.

Recommendation
I highly recommend this app if you want a simple and clean design app. It gets the job done.

Digital Project Life [Week 17]

I am suddenly feel like taking a few extra minutes to make Project Life Layouts. I have all of my photos in my Dropbox folder. I just grabbed those photos , open Project Life template in my Adobe Photoshop and start assemble these layout. I am not going super crazy with the design. I still kept it simple and not add to many elements on them.

Project 365 [ Week 17 ]

Week seventeen flew by even faster. So many events to attend so many things to do and shop. My life seems to progress in the right direction even though sometimes I felt like I was living in an alternate universe. I am still adjusting to a life without a mother. It was hard at times especially when I felt like the whole world is against me and I have no one to turn to.

HERE IS MY WEEK IN PHOTOS

DAY 110- This was me last Monday trying very hard to get out of bed and out the door to work. Trying very hard to wear my positive attitude and be happy with my job or should I referred to as my career. Somehow I have never looked at my job as my career. Hemm..

Day 110

DAY 111- The second day of work, I went to Sunway Pyramid Convention Centre for Big Data Week 2015. It was an interesting seminar. Somehow Big Data is more than application development, it's more on making sense of the things we put on the internet. Interestingly the information world is made up of 80% unstructured data - things we say on the social media.

Day 111

DAY 112- My second day at Big Data Week 2015. Hemmm it appeared that for the last three days I have been taking a lot of self portrait. The lighting wasn't that good in this hall.

Day 112

DAY 113- It finally came, my new Kikki. K Planner A5 texture leather OCEAN. This one is so beautiful and I really love the straps. It came with 2015 Insert ( starting June 2015 and end in August 2016 ... I think).

Day 113

DAY 114- The Friday where we went to KLCC to buy this little guy a present. And it was also the time for me to visit Typo and Kinokuniya at the same time.

Day 114

DAY 115- Counting dow to Hanif birthday. I took him to Mid Valley Mega Mall.  My intention was to indulge him with presents from Toysrus. He was definitely one happy boy today.

Day 115

DAY 116- My little guy is turing three today. A big boy already. I can't believe that now he can talked, make conversation with me and he even demand or asking something from me. Love seeing him exploring his world.

Day 116

Big Little Lies : Book Review

I bought this book last year. I only got around at reading it this year. This is the first book of this author that I bought and I am not sure if I am going to like the book. It has a chic lit vibe to it but at the same time it's a little bit complex. I decided to just go a head and read the book , well actually I was listening to the book and reading the book at the same time.

Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty

What is this book about?
"Big Little Lies follows three women, each at a crossroads:
Madeline is a force to be reckoned with. She’s funny and biting, passionate, she remembers everything and forgives no one. Her ex-husband and his yogi new wife have moved into her beloved beachside community, and their daughter is in the same kindergarten class as Madeline’s youngest (how is this possible?). And to top it all off, Madeline’s teenage daughter seems to be choosing Madeline’s ex-husband over her. (How. Is. This. Possible?).

Celeste is the kind of beautiful woman who makes the world stop and stare. While she may seem a bit flustered at times, who wouldn’t be, with those rambunctious twin boys? Now that the boys are starting school, Celeste and her husband look set to become the king and queen of the school parent body. But royalty often comes at a price, and Celeste is grappling with how much more she is willing to pay.
New to town, single mom Jane is so young that another mother mistakes her for the nanny. Jane is sad beyond her years and harbors secret doubts about her son. But why? While Madeline and Celeste soon take Jane under their wing, none of them realizes how the arrival of Jane and her inscrutable little boy will affect them all.
Big Little Lies is a brilliant take on ex-husbands and second wives, mothers and daughters, schoolyard scandal, and the dangerous little lies we tell ourselves just to survive.excerpt from amazon.com

What do I think about the book?
- The story took place in Australia. I have never read a book where the location of the characters in Australia. The narrator of the audiobook was so pleasing and I really enjoy listening to her.
- this is my first book by Liane Moriarty. I like her writing style. She makes me want to know more about the characters and care about them.
- I can totally relate to Celeste issue - perfect couple on the outside but not so sweet on the inside.
- The book  deal with normal parenting issues dealing with ex husband and his new family, teenage outrages behaviour, infidelity, age, beauty, bully and many more. I totally did not expect that some die in this book.
- I like the mysterious setting of the book when they were talking to the police and the police said it's a murder investigation and I said to myself - who died? That one kept me reading. I really want to know.
- I will definitely read more book from Liane. In fact right now I am listening and reading her The Husband's Secret.

I highly recommend this book to anybody who loves chic lit and mystery

#thursday3 [23.04.2015]

Today was a little bit weird for me. I am feeling all sorts of things which are conflicting with each other. I am in a state of confusion . Life in the digital age sure has it's perk. We are so connected with each other that we've become disconnected with people near to us.

HERE ARE MY PHOTO AND FACTS FOR THE WEEK

23042015

#1. I hold Kikki K Planner texture Leather Ocean in my hand with great joy.

#2. Lately I've been spending a lot of time and money on things related to planners and stationaries. Not on clothes or even makeup.

#3. Midori's Travelers Notebook will be my next quest.

Unboxing Webster Color Crush Planner in Gold

Hello my lovelies. Today I am going to share with you my unboxing of Webster Color Crush Planner.

First of all I would like to say that I never thought I would buy a personal size planner. The personal size really bother me because I find it really hard to write on and the small space make it hard for me to write on. The smallest size planner that I can go for is A5 planner.

When I saw Webster Color Crush Planner in Gold on youtube, I immediately fall in love. It has everything that I want -beautiful inserts, colorful and fun dividers and gold polkadot ruler. I went to Scrap-N-Crop website and place an order. I am beyond excited when they still have the Gold in stock.

CCGold201501

I am very happy with the delivery from Scrap N Crop. They process my order immediately and I received my planner the next day.

This is an unboxing post so I will not go into details and giving my opinion on this product. I still have not setup this planner yet. I have a few ideas of how I'm going to use this planner but this will not be my main planner.

HERE ARE SOME PHOTOS OF MY UNBOXING OF WEBSTER COLOR CRUSH PLANNER IN GOLD

5 things why we are memory keeper at heart

Ever since I got involved in scrapbooking way back in 1999, I thought memory keeping was scrapbooking and scrapbooking was memory keeping. And I thought only creative people can do scrapbook and preserved their memories. I used to focus on making my page pretty compare to telling the stories. That is totally a myth.

Memory keeping is part of us, it's on our blood. We as a human want to tell our stories and preserved our memories in any way that we can including drawing symbols in caves.

5things-whywearememorykeeper

HERE ARE FIVE WAYS WHY WE ARE MEMORY KEEPER AT HEART

#1. We take photos almost every day. The invention of camera phone really increase our tendency to capture almost anything including #selfies, what we eat, where we went, the weather and many more.

#2. We share our status and update our current activities on Facebook, Twitter and Whatsup

#3. We share our photos or videos to our friends and family via flickr, instagram, photoblog, tumblr, photo bucket, picasa and many more

#4. We write about our daily activities, feelings and thoughts either in our planner, journal, dairies and even on Facebook page

#5. We blogged or vlogged about our daily lives, our likes and dislikes constantly. Mostly younger generation love to do this. Most of them love to watched Vlog on youtube channel compare to reading long articles about it. I bet in the future we are going to catalog these  content and it will have historical value.

Either we like it or not we are memory keeper at heart. The only problem with all these technologies, we have all these memories and tidbits of our lives scattered around the virtual world without any prober home. We need to do something about all these memories, document with intentions and document them in a tangible form which we can refer back from time to time. And if you have a smart phone with you, you can document your lives easily with these tips.

Hopefully after reading this entry, you will realise that you are a memory keeper, you create content almost instinctively. Creating and capturing memories and shareable content has become our responsibility. We do have to be careful about what we share especially on the cyber space.
