FEBRUARY 2015 FAVORITES

  • February is a short month for me
  • I am happy that I got a chance to go for Omrah with my family. It's a spiritual journey that bring us closer to Allah and to each other.
  • I love spending time with my family. It's the best thing ever.
  • February is also not a good reading month for me. At least I've finished reading Haji and Umrah for Women book. I highly recommend the book
  • I registered again for 30 days of list of March 2015. This time around I decided to use a journal book. I will write my lists and decorate the page.
  • I have many beautiful memories during my weeks stay at Mecca and Medina which I document it on the go using DayOne App
  • Spending the whole two weeks with a toddler is a challenging and rewarding experience for me. Trying to decipher what he wants is really a try and error method. I still enjoyed my stayed at Mecca and Medina.
I hope you had an amazing February.  No matter how hard life gets, try to stay positive and look for things to be grateful for.

30 days of lists March 2015

I am happy to announce that I will be joining in the fun of creating lists a.k.a 30 days of lists. This is probably my 4th year ( I think ) of joining in the community and the fun of listings. I really love lists and having a community that share the same interest is really fun for me. Now I know that I am not the only one who is obsess with listing  and documenting my life.

30daysoflists-March2015

If you have not join this type of challenge before, why not this year you take a plunge and register.

Here are a few reasons why you should join

#1. It's only 30 days of pure fun

#2. You have a reason to decorate your journal

#3. Get in the habit of writing 5-10 minutes a day just making lists

#4. If you are a blogger, you are already have things to write about everyday for one month.

#5. The most fun thing is you get free goodies related to 30 days of lists project which you can use over and over again for different projects.

I am still contemplating on which journal to use. Since last September I already did a digital version, this year I decided to go back to basic and write with my own handwriting and have the fun of decorating my journal again.

#thursday3 [12.02.2015]

I am using Camera 360 for this selfie. Loving the app so far. My skin look smoother and flawless. Something fun which I can play around with. My week so far is amazing and by the way I am participate in 30 days of list project for March 2015. Can't wait to start listing and making memories for March.

HERE ARE MY PHOTO AND FACTS FOR THE WEEK

12.02.2015

#1. I am listening to Flesh and Blood by Patricia Cornwell audiobook . I am not loving the narrator of the book. It's very hard for me to follow along
#2. Wrapping up all the things that need to be done. Make sure that everything is in order.
#3. I am also listening to The Girl on the Train audiobook. I have no idea that the book is setup in London. So far I like the narration.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Think about it this way…If you take one picture and write down three facts each week — at the end of the year you’ll have more than 50 photos of yourself and 150 facts about what life has been like. It would make such an epic All About Me book — and most of the work is already done." - rukristin.com
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Follow along each week on instagram using the hashtag #thursday3 dan tagged me @hanizeyecandy. I want to see your selfie and read about you

Polaroid Love Project 2015

Usually every February I participate in Polaroid Project or anything related to Polaroid. I am not really a hard core Polaroid fan but I do love the effect of the Polaroid. I am not a professional photographer, so I don't really love taking polaroid photos using the Instax Mini Camera because the film is expensive and I just can't afford to waste them.

The next best thing to experience polaroid photography is by using your regular camera and use photoshop action to create a polaroid effect like the real thing.

Download the action here and have fun playing with it. I know I did.

polaroid-1 polaroid-2 polaroid-3 polaroid-4 polaroid-5 polaroid-6 polaroid-7 polaroid-8

Now I just need to print these photos and find a way to display them. These photos definitely will not fit my normal Project Life album. Maybe they have a pocket album that can host my polaroid photos. I just have to check what other sizes they have.

My book Wish Lists 2015

Somehow I have a feeling that this year I will not have a lot of time to read. I am not sure how last year I am able to make the time to read and somehow this year I am not able to read more than one book since January 2015. I just lost the moment. I am hoping that by February I will pick up a book again, chill and just read.

There are a few books that I've been dying to own in 2015 and one of them is Veronica Mars Mr Kiss and Tell. I am a little bit disappointed that the audiobook was not narrated by Kristen Bell. I am not sure if the book will work without Kristen Bell.
I am so looking forward to add these books to my collection in 2015.

#1. NYPD RED3 by James Patterson and Marshall Karp
"PROTECT THE RICH. SERVE THE FAMOUS. HUNT THE GUILTY.
NYPD Red is the elite, highly trained task force assigned to protect the rich, the famous, and the connected. And Detective Zach Jordan and his partner Kylie MacDonald-the woman who broke his heart at the police academy-are the best of the best, brilliant and tireless investigators who will stop at nothing to deliver justice.
Zach and Kylie's New Year's celebrations are cut short when they're called to the home of billionaire businessman Hunter Alden, Jr. after he makes a grisly discovery in his townhouse garage. When Alden's teenage son goes missing soon afterwards, and his father seems oddly reluctant to find him, Zach and Kylie find themselves in the middle of a chilling conspiracy that threatens everyone in its wake-especially their city's most powerful citizens. " excerpt from amazon.com

#2. Veronica Mars (2): Kiss and Tell by Rob Thomas
"In the second book in the New York Times bestselling mystery series, Veronica Mars is back with a case that will expose the hidden workings of one of Neptune’s most murderous locations.

The Neptune Grand has always been the seaside town’s ritziest hotel, despite the shady dealings and high-profile scandals that seem to follow its elite guests. When a woman claims that she was brutally assaulted in one of its rooms and left for dead by a staff member, the owners know that they have a potential powder keg on their hands. They turn to Veronica to disprove—or prove—the woman's story.

The case is a complicated mix of hard facts, mysterious occurrences, and uncooperative witnesses. The hotel refuses to turn over its reservation list and the victim won’t divulge who she was meeting that night. Add in the facts that the attack happened months ago, the victim’s memory is fuzzy, and there are holes in the hotel’s surveillance system, and Veronica has a convoluted mess on her hands. As she works to fill in the missing pieces, it becomes clear that someone is lying—but who? And why?" excerpt from amazon.com

#3. Host by Robin Cook
"Lynn Pierce, a fourth-year medical student at Mason Dixon University, thinks she has her life figured out. But when her otherwise healthy boyfriend, Carl, enters the hospital for routine surgery, she doesn’t know it’s the last time she will see him whole again.

Devastated by Carl’s death, Lynn searches for answers. Convinced there’s more to the story than what the authorities are willing to reveal, Lynn uses all her resources at Mason Dixon—including her initially reluctant lab partner, Edward—to hunt down evidence of medical error or malpractice.

What she uncovers, however, is far more disturbing. Hospitals associated with Sentinel Healthcare, including the one attached to Mason Dixon, have unnervingly high rates of unexplained anesthetic complications and patients contracting serious and terminal illness in the wake of routine surgery.

When Lynn and Edward begin to receive death threats, they know they’re into something bigger than either of them anticipated. They soon enter a desperate race against time for answers before shadowy forces behind Sentinel Healthcare can put a stop to their efforts once and for all. " excerpt from amazon.com

"A masterful, intensely suspenseful novel about a reader whose obsession with a reclusive writer goes far too far—a book about the power of storytelling, starring the same trio of unlikely and winning heroes King introduced in Mr. Mercedes.

“Wake up, genius.” So begins King’s instantly riveting story about a vengeful reader. The genius is John Rothstein, an iconic author who created a famous character, Jimmy Gold, but who hasn’t published a book for decades. Morris Bellamy is livid, not just because Rothstein has stopped providing books, but because the nonconformist Jimmy Gold has sold out for a career in advertising. Morris kills Rothstein and empties his safe of cash, yes, but the real treasure is a trove of notebooks containing at least one more Gold novel.

Morris hides the money and the notebooks, and then he is locked away for another crime. Decades later, a boy named Pete Saubers finds the treasure, and now it is Pete and his family that Bill Hodges, Holly Gibney, and Jerome Robinson must rescue from the ever-more deranged and vengeful Morris when he’s released from prison after thirty-five years.

Not since Misery has King played with the notion of a reader whose obsession with a writer gets dangerous. Finders Keepers is spectacular, heart-pounding suspense, but it is also King writing about how literature shapes a life—for good, for bad, forever." excerpt from amazon.com

"Amos Decker's life changed forever--twice.
The first time was on the gridiron. A big, towering athlete, he was the only person from his hometown of Burlington ever to go pro. But his career ended before it had a chance to begin. On his very first play, a violent helmet-to-helmet collision knocked him off the field for good, and left him with an improbable side effect--he can never forget anything.
The second time was at home nearly two decades later. Now a police detective, Decker returned from a stakeout one evening and entered a nightmare--his wife, young daughter, and brother-in-law had been murdered.
His family destroyed, their killer's identity as mysterious as the motive behind the crime, and unable to forget a single detail from that horrible night, Decker finds his world collapsing around him. He leaves the police force, loses his home, and winds up on the street, taking piecemeal jobs as a private investigator when he can.
But over a year later, a man turns himself in to the police and confesses to the murders. At the same time a horrific event nearly brings Burlington to its knees, and Decker is called back in to help with this investigation. Decker also seizes his chance to learn what really happened to his family that night. To uncover the stunning truth, he must use his remarkable gifts and confront the burdens that go along with them. He must endure the memories he would much rather forget. And he may have to make the ultimate sacrifice" excerpt from amazon.com

"When her best friend, Meg, drinks a bottle of industrial-strength cleaner alone in a motel room, Cody is understandably shocked and devastated. She and Meg shared everything—so how was there no warning? But when Cody travels to Meg’s college town to pack up the belongings left behind, she discovers that there’s a lot that Meg never told her. About her old roommates, the sort of people Cody never would have met in her dead-end small town in Washington. About Ben McAllister, the boy with a guitar and a sneer, and some secrets of his own. And about an encrypted computer file that Cody can’t open—until she does, and suddenly everything Cody thought she knew about her best friend’s death gets thrown into question." excerpt from amazon.com

"Rachel takes the same commuter train every morning. Every day she rattles down the track, flashes past a stretch of cozy suburban homes, and stops at the signal that allows her to daily watch the same couple breakfasting on their deck. She’s even started to feel like she knows them. “Jess and Jason,” she calls them. Their life—as she sees it—is perfect. Not unlike the life she recently lost.

And then she sees something shocking. It’s only a minute until the train moves on, but it’s enough. Now everything’s changed. Unable to keep it to herself, Rachel offers what she knows to the police, and becomes inextricably entwined in what happens next, as well as in the lives of everyone involved. Has she done more harm than good?" excerpt from amazon.com

"Dana Nolan was a promising young TV reporter until a notorious serial killer tried to add her to his list of victims.  Nearly a year has passed since surviving her ordeal, but the physical, emotional, and psychological scars run deep.  Struggling with the torment of post-traumatic stress syndrome, plagued by flashbacks and nightmares as dark as the heart of a killer, Dana returns to her hometown in an attempt to begin to put her life back together.  But home doesn’t provide the comfort she expects.

Dana’s harrowing story and her return to small town life have rekindled police and media interest in the unsolved case of her childhood best friend, Casey Grant, who disappeared without a trace the summer after their graduation from high school.  Terrified of truths long-buried, Dana reluctantly begins to look back at her past.  Viewed through the dark filter of PTSD, old friends and loved ones become suspects and enemies.  Questioning everything she knows, refusing to be defined by the traumas of her past and struggling against excruciating odds, Dana seeks out a truth that may prove too terrible to be believed…" excerpt from amazon.com

#9.Cell by Robin Cook -- "George Wilson, M.D., a radiology resident in Los Angeles, is about to enter a profession on the brink of an enormous paradigm shift, foreshadowing a vastly different role for doctors everywhere. The smartphone is poised to take on a new role in medicine, no longer as a mere medical app but rather as a fully customizable personal physician capable of diagnosing and treating even better than the real thing. It is called iDoc. George’s initial collision with this incredible innovation is devastating. He awakens one morning to find his fiancée dead in bed alongside him, not long after she participated in an iDoc beta test. Then several of his patients die after undergoing imaging procedures. All of them had been part of the same beta test." excerpt from amazon.com
[I have put this book in my wish list last year but I have not add them to my list yet. So this year I intend to add it to my list and read it if possible]

"When Ruby woke up on her tenth birthday, something about her had changed. Something alarming enough to make her parents lock her in the garage and call the police. Something that gets her sent to Thurmond, a brutal government "rehabilitation camp." She might have survived the mysterious disease that's killed most of America's children, but she and the others have emerged with something far worse: frightening abilities they cannot control.
Now sixteen, Ruby is one of the dangerous ones.
When the truth comes out, Ruby barely escapes Thurmond with her life. Now she's on the run, desperate to find the one safe haven left for kids like her-East River. She joins a group of kids who escaped their own camp. Liam, their brave leader, is falling hard for Ruby. But no matter how much she aches for him, Ruby can't risk getting close. Not after what happened to her parents.
When they arrive at East River, nothing is as it seems, least of all its mysterious leader. But there are other forces at work, people who will stop at nothing to use Ruby in their fight against the government. Ruby will be faced with a terrible choice, one that may mean giving up her only chance at a life worth living." excerpt from amazon.com

Digital Project Life Layouts [ Week 06]

For Week six I decided to go back to Project Life App since I already bought Project 52 kit from the in app store. It's the easiest way for me to to choose the right week and the right journal card filler for my layouts. I saved both of the layouts and upload them to my Dropbox. Then I used my Adobe Photoshop for the journaling. I've finished making these two layouts in less than 30 minutes. So simple, fun and easy.

Project 365 [Week 06]

I am so in love with Week 06 just because it's only three days of work for us in Federal Territory. We had two days public holiday on Monday and Tuesday. I am so loving my long weekend with my family and doing things I love the most.

HERE IS MY WEEK IN PHOTOS

DAY 033- Our outing on Monday and we spend it shopping and watching movie. We watched  VICE. It was not a good movie at all. Before end of the day I already forgot about the movie.
Day 033

DAY 034- I just love watching him played with his physical toys. I don't mind the mess because I know that he was exploring his imagination.
Day 034

DAY 035- I skipped my diet to night by eating white rice with sambal udang. It was so good and totally worth it.
Day 035

DAY 036- It's Thursday and I was already looking forward to Saturday. I took this photo for my #thursday3 project and at the same time I was wondering when will the registration for 30 days of lists open.
Day 036

DAY 037- The latest edition to my collection - I was here book by Gayle Forman. The story seems interesting enough and I can't wait to read it.
Day 037

DAY 038- It's my cousin wedding reception at Melaka. We decided to go even though we was late. I can't wait to see my father, my brothers and all my cousins.
day 038

DAY 039- When I saw these two interact, I just had to capture it on camera. They were so cute together and when they connect it's the most beautiful thing ever.

Project Life 2014 Volume 02 Photo Book

I have been a fan of photo book since 2011 when I discovered Photobook Malaysia. At first ordering a photo book was a little bit expensive for me. After that I discovered that Photobook Malaysia always offer discounts through out the year to encourage consumer to order from them. After that I never paid a full price again.

In January 2015 I put together Project Life 2014 Volume 02 album using photobook designer apps. Putting together this album was easy for me because I have already made the layouts for Week 28 - Week 52. I just have to design the front cover and and the back.
