Project 365 [ Week 48]

I am lucky that Week 48 moves faster than usual. It makes waiting for the iPhone 6 to arrived bearable. I was playing a lot of catch up games this week. I am hoping that next week I can still down and check off administrative task off my list. Some of them are even way past the due date.

HERE IS MY WEEK IN PHOTOS

day 328 - I am still holding my breath when I captured this photo. It was very hard for me to accept that my two boys are already all grown up. Where did my babies go?



day 329 - I am getting the hang of using my iPad fully especially when it comes to note taking and planner. I am loving GoodNotes and Noteshelf apps lately. And I am so loving my Adonit Stylus.




day 330 - I was at Miri this Wednesday. I arrived around 4:30 pm at the hotel. I did not bring my kids along even though the school holiday is already here. I think Hanif is big enough to be left with his sister and his father.




day 331 - Second day was a trip to visit STEPS, one of unmanned station at Miri. The network so far works perfectly.




day 332 - My last day here and I am taking in the view at the Parkcity Everly Hotel. This hotel is way better than last week hotel. This should be the standard from now on.




day 333 - I bought these - Fearless collection from Victoria Secret at the airport. I am loving the smell of this product. So far so good.




day 334 - My iPhone 6 is finally arrived yesterday. It took me the whole Saturday to set up the phone, sync with iCloud and my computer and dress the phone up with screen protector and a casing. This phone is finally up and running. Hemmm I am still getting used to the size. It is still way bigger than I am comfortable with. One hand texting is definitely harder.

These are my life in photos for week forty eight.  So many things happened and if I don't take the time to document them I might miss a lot. I still believe when you took the time to document the every day and the good things that happened in your life, you will be more grateful. Just saying.

I am not at my usual place right now. Working outside your normal routine can be good. I see the world and suddenly I feel more alive!

UPSR ... the result

Remember back in September when I was very disappointed with the repeat / reseat of three UPSR exam papers? Well today is the day the results will be announce.


Countdown till 10:00 am this morning, patiently waiting for the announcement of this year results. Between the parent and the child, who do you think feel more nervous?
I am anxiously waiting for my daughter to call me and tell me her results. No matter what the outcome is she still has a long way to go.
Good luck to all the UPSR 2014 candidates. Maybe life brings you more joy and happiness no matter what it said on the result paper.

5 books I want to read before end of the year

The last two remaining months of the year is always the busiest weeks of the year. I have been struggling to read or even finished a book lately. So I decided to make four simple goals before 2015 to accomplished for the rest of the year. One of the goals is to read at least three more books. So here I am making at least five books that I wanted to read before end of the year. If I can crossed off three of the books from the list I will be very happy.

Here are 5 books I want to read before end of the year

#1. Cop Town by Karin Slaughter

      - this is my first book / audiobook by Karin Slaughter. I did not expect to enjoy the book but I did. It's another cop story but set in 1970's where being a cop for a woman is not something acceptable by the society. 

#2. Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins

   - I have all ready started reading the book but I have stop for awhile. It's not that they story isn't interesting, it's just that Gone Girl and Cop Town caught my attention. So I need to continue reading the book before I move on to Lola and the boy next door.

#3. MockingJay {Hunger games book 3} by Suzzane Collins

   - I have watched the Mockingjay:the Hunger Games Part1 movie and I just wanted to know how the story ends. I just can't wait for Part 2, which I am sure will be air sometime next year.

#4. Allegiant by Veronica Roth

- I need to read this book this year. Somehow it doesn't feel complete if I don't know what happened to Tris and Four

#5. The Escape by David Baldacci

 -- a new book which sound interesting. I love David Baldacci book and even though I have not read the rest of the series but knowing Baldacci style of writing it doesn't really matter which sequence you read the series. It will still be enjoyable.

I am so looking forward to read these books and crossed them off my to be read piles. I do have lots of book to read, so for November and December I might not be purchasing anymore books until I can reduce by TBR pile by at least 50%... hehehe...

Project 365 [Week 47]

Another hectic week for me. I think the more the year is moving towards the end of the year, the more busy I get. Last week was a trip to Taiping for another meeting. This time half of my family is with me. Love the time that we spend together.

HERE IS MY WEEK IN PHOTOS

day 321 - It was ICT & GIS Day at the office. This was the event that we dedicate to prompt ICT to everyone at the office. And one of the main features of the event was ICT photo booth.

day 322 - This little guy spend way too much time on youtube. He learns a lot from it like numbers, words and alphabets. I don't even know that there a basically thousands of contents dedicated to toddlers.

day 323 - On our way to Taiping. I think this was my first trip there. I have never been to Taiping before. The worst thing about the trip was the hotel - Hotel Seri Malaysia Taiping is the worst. They don't treat their customers well.



day 324 -The second day, we had a trip to Bird Sanctuary Park at Kuala Gula. I have never been there. I am not the kind of person who would go to a place like this. It's good to get away from your comfort zone and look at world from different perspective.




day 325 - I am back at home. The trip back was smooth and safe. In the evening I took my kids to IOI City Mall. It's a new mall located near our home. And I was so happy to hold and play with iPhone 6 and iPhone 6+. I was holding iPhone 6+ in gold and it feels a little bit slippery. And the whole time I was thinking that iPhone 6+ wasn't as bad as people make it out to be.




day 326 - Another outing and this time at KLCC and once again we went to Machine store and play with the iPhone 6. And this photo was taken using the front camera of the iPhone 6. Not bad, not bad at all. 

day 327 - We spend most of the time at home and chill. Watching TV, Napping, cleaning, playing -together but not together. And my baby is now obsess with Toca Boca apps and I am obsess with making my iPad as my digital note taking apps. I am setting up my GoodNotes as my Day Planner for 2015. Still getting the hang of it. I intend to go fully digital in 2015.

IOI City Mall first trip

I was so excited to know that IOI City Mall is opening near my area. I think it's about time that we have a big mall around here. I went to the mall yesterday with my kids. I did not expect that many people but I was totally wrong. The basement 1 car park was already full when arrived.


What do I think about the place?
- I am super duper excited because of Sephora, Machine, Tesco and GNC are within reach.
- Border bookstore is coming soon. I do wish they have Kinokuniya and Popular here
- If they have one beautiful art supply and stationary store than I am set for good. Never have to leave bangi again


- the Surau (prayer room) is on the second floor. That means you have to plan your day well, otherwise you will spend more time walking to the surau ( I secretly wish they have one near the basement--- or maybe they do -- that place is huge)


- even though the place is still new there are still plenty of things to do and buy. A lot of shops have special opening discounts and prices. 


If you are looking for a new place to explore this weekend than I highly recommend IOICITY Mall as your destination

3 tips: taking photos of your toddler

When your child was a baby, taking photos of him was so much easier. You can posed him anyway you like and he happily comply. Now that my baby has become toddler, taking photos of him is a challenge. His attention is so limited and he only do what he wants.


I have been taking photos of my babies and toddlers for about seventeen years now. Somehow I never get tired of taking photos of them. I really like watching them grow up through camera lens.

Here I would love to share 3 tips that has worked for me when taking photos of toddler

1. Have a prop
Toddler love to play with things. When you give him something to play with they basically ignore what you are doing like taking photos of them playing

2. Have someone else in the room to talk to.
I usually have my daughter around to talk to him and show him how to pose. Showing him where to put his hands or tilt his head is fun and game to him. He usually comply without any problem.




3. Say something fun and random 
Instead of calling his name when you want him to look at the camera, try saying some random words with lots of excitement . He will looked up for a few seconds from what he's doing to see what is going on.

Have fun trying these few tips to get at least some decent photos of your toddler. Oh one more thing, having a fast camera also help. Since toddler can change his mind often, you need something fast to capture the moment.

Project Life [Week 46]

Another busy busy week in November! I just realised that have a month has gone by. As of today I am still waiting for my iPhone to arrive. I just hope that they will not release the iPad Air 2 before I got my iPhone. I may not be stable enough to stop myself from owning one. I am not the kind of woman who indulge in jewelries, shoes, handbags or even clothes. I indulge in technology which is not a cheap indulgence.

Project 365 [ Week 46]

Week 46 was a week where I only went to the office three days only, the other two days I attended Transformation Management workshop at INTAN. I just realised something, I actually don't really mind the traffic jam. What stressed me out the most was I have to punch in the morning. I wish one day the government will phase out the punch card system. People are been working twenty four hours now, having a punch card system seems to create unnecessary stress.

day 314 - I was planning my blog post for the next day and I thought taking a photo just for the post was a great idea. I used iPhone 5c in this photo. I wish Apple will make more phone like this, light, colourful, plastic and cheaper then the other.


day 315 - My Transformation Management Workshop began today at INTAN Bukit Kiara. I don't want to be here but for the sake of learning, I close my eyes, be brave and drove by myself to Mount Kiara.



day 316 - The second day was a group discussion. I think this year I have attended too many workshop with lots of discussion, brainstorming and presenting our ideas.



day 317 - Suddenly I was excited to go to work today. I think taking a break from work really makes me appreciate my workplace.



day 318 - It's Friday and we are making a last minute preparation for our Annual ICT Day on Monday. I was a little bit nervous. This is the first time that we host such event , actually we are co-hosting with GIS division.



day 319- Saturday was usually family time and outing to a mall is one of our favourite activities



day 320- It is a rehearsal day today. I was a little bit worried with the flow of the program. I meant after all the VIPs have left. Hopefully we will get the crowd for this program.
