My Lovely February

monthlyfavorites
I had such an amazing month so far. February couldn't come so fast. I just wondering if 2014 will be the best year ever. I really wanted it to be.

February FAVOURITES

  • I finally make the time to print and edit my photos and also make a Project Life mini album for my mom
  • I bought DayOne app for my Mac and I've been journaling like crazy with this beautiful app
  • My baby boy is twenty two month now
  • I register for 30 days of list March 2014. This is my sixth time joining in the fun of making lists.
  • I was sick a lot this month and having a great day is really my goal for the last few weeks.
  • One of my action for Write is to start doing Today I... segment at least once a month
  • I am finally putting together a Project Life mini album for my #thursday3 project. I love print out my weekly selfie, print them out and slip them into pockets.
  • Finally I decide to subscribe to Dropbox. Other than the fast service and the easy of use, I really like the idea that I have my important documents anywhere I go.
  • Since SugarSync is not free anymore, I decided to delete all my files from SugarSync and not continue using the service
  • My Project 365 and  Digital Project Life is going great. So far I've managed to keep up and taking photos daily. I am at awe that this week is already week09! Seriously! Where does my days go?
  • I am also doing P90X3 which is only 30 minutes. I like it but not as much as Focus T25.
  • I discovered Devious Maids TV show and I totally in love with it
I hope you had an amazing February and discover many new favorites. I am looking forward to a beautiful March and spend a lot of time doing more Project Life.

#thursday3 [27.02.2014]

Today is the last Thursday for February. We will welcome March in a few days and I am so ready to make the most of what I have. Life so far is pretty amazing, it's normal, it's ordinary and less drama. Now I can focus more of my time and energy doing creative things and just be happy.

HERE IS MY PHOTO AND FACTS FOR THE WEEK

 27022013

#1. I spend most of my weekend making a Project Life mini album for my mom. I can't wait to give her the album I put together with the help my of brothers
#2. I have been watching Devious Maids the whole weekend and I've finished all 13 episodes in three days. Now I am watching Witches of the East End.
#3. I don't think green is my colour. I am having a really difficult time finding my green shawl. Luckily I have one that I can wear today. I still have to put a little of pink in my outfit just to make me feel happier in the morning.

"Think about it this way…If you take one picture and write down three facts each week — at the end of the year you’ll have more than 50 photos of yourself and 150 facts about what life has been like. It would make such an epic All About Me book — and most of the work is already done."excerpt from http://rukristin.com

Hanif // 22 months

In less than three months this little boy will be two years old. I am still having trouble adjusting to having a baby in the house. Sometimes I totally forgot that baby or toddler needs my constant attention. When he doesn't get it he will demand for it. In a way it's reminder to me that I have a toddler in the house.

Hanif-22months

Some random things about him so far
  • He already develop an obsession towards iPad and iPhone.
  • He learns the word iPad faster than any other words
  • He loves to play balls as always
  • I am glad that I am able to wean him off iPad and iPhone
  • Now he can look at iPad and iPhone without wanting to play with them
  • He walk fasters and almost running.
  • I love that he immediately pose for me when I hold a camera when he is in a good mood. Otherwise he will look at other places and not at the lens
  • He has develop a bedtime routine, which is around 9:00 - 10:00pm
  • He is still afraid of intense physical activities. He will scream every time I toss him up the air or swing him
  • He is a very careful baby. Everything that he does especially when it comes to physical activities are calculated and careful including walking up and down the stairs.
  • He fell down once this month

5 reasons why I love Devious Maids

I can't believe how good and brilliant show this is. When I saw the commercial that Devious Maids is from the creator of Desperate Housewives I am totally intrigue. I love Desperate Housewives and I was disappointed when the show ends. I immediately download all 13 episodes of the show and watched all of them during one weekend.

Storyline
"Four Latina maids with ambition and dreams of their own work for the rich and famous in Beverly Hills " ~source imdv

5 reasons why I love Devious Maids

1. Beautiful Latino ladies in one show
It doesn't hurt that they are all beautiful people and they made cleaning look good and sexy.

2. The funny and brilliant quotes
My favourite is definitely "My maid just died. Who is going to clean all this mess?" Only from the rich people you can hear said that.

3. Every body has secrets seems to be the theme every where
This theme feels a little bit like Desperate Housewives and I like it. Your life is definitely not boring even though you are a maid and works for rich people.

4. Suddenly I have the urge to clean
or at least hired someone to clean my house. I saw them clean the stairs all the time especially Valentina. I wish she could clean my stairs.

5. I love to see how they dress [the maids and their bosses]
I have no idea how Carmen can do all the cleaning with her black high heel shoes. That is pretty amazing to me.

Overall this is a fun and entertaining show to watch. Caution, it's pretty addictive. I seem to like almost all of the characters in the show, even the villain. I did not expect to like Taylor but I do. I think she has a good heart and too cute.

Can't wait for Season 2 in April 2014

Project Life [Week 08]

This week I didn't have the time and the energy to mix and match or make anything new with my Project Life page. I used exactly the same designs with different photos and journaling. I am not going to make a big deal out of it because there's always week 09. I hope that this week will go smoothly for me with less headache and no sick day.

Week 08 [Project 365]

What an amazing week! It wasn't long as I thought it would be. Getting sick again was not fun and I have to force myself to do my daily chores. It's painful but it needs to be done. I really wish someone would take care of me. My kids would help out if they can but they too are busy with their school work and preparing for the big exam.

HERE IS MY WEEK IN PHOTOS

day 48 -It is a fun Monday after all. Busy busy busy as always. My guts wanted to do Art Journal or write in a journal. I wish my work life is more interesting, fun and creative. Maybe I can do this with my team.

day 048

day 49 - I had such a busy busy day and it's still routine. I wanted to do something out of the ordinary but what? Urghh!!!!! Any how this is the place where I bought “nasi kukus” weekly for my kids. They seems to love it.

day 049

day 50- I am sick again. I woke in the morning and feel a little bit chilly and when I arrive at the office immediately I was shivering. The whole office felt like winter time. I take two panadols and lay down for a while. Until noon I am not feeling that good so I opt for going to the clinic. This is me again and the pills I have to take.

day 050

day 51- The morning after my high fever and bad headache. I am glad that after taking the antibiotic I am feeling much better. I can get up, get dress and move around without feeling dizzy. This morning I send this little guy to the daycare centre so that I can get some rest.

day 051

day 52 - I am taking the day off just because I am not strong enough to go to work and give it my all. I spend my day resting at home and take photo like this. Lately I have been obsessed with whitening product. This is the first time I tried Eucerin white therapy day cream. It’s too early to tell if my scar is getting lighter or not. So far I don’t have any major problem with this product.

day 052

day 53 - The day when highspeed broadband is down! Oh boy! Why do I feel lost and disconnected? I have more passion for this technology more than I should. Maybe I'm the one who should be on Digital Detox

day 053

day 54 - I am feeling so much better today and I decided to take this little guy out to the park. It was so hot outside, so I waited until 6:00pm to go there. Boy! There were too many people there doing family stuffs. This little guy is having a blast, walking around,  pushing his car toy and playing with ball. I tried to engaged him in some rough physical activities and he freaks out!

 day 054

These are my life in photos for week eight. So many things happened and if I don't take the time to document them I might miss a lot. I still believe when you took the time to document the every day and the good things that happened in your life, you will be more grateful. Just saying.

Do you join Project 365 this year?

5 things you can do with your computer when the internet is down

There was the time that I am happy to have a computer at home and just play with the software in them. Those were the time when there's no such thing as high speed broadband. We did have internet connection but with a modem and a telephone line and you have to configure your own DNS and ipaddress.

Now with all the luxury of the high speed broadband I just plug in my computer, connect to the router and I got the world on my finger tips. The internet is good but sometimes I forgot that the computer still exist without internet. There are many things you can do with your computer without internet.

1.  Organize your digital photos

Everybody that has camera or a smartphone, has photos probably tuck way in the camera or phones. We probably have hundreds of them waiting to be organise and enjoy outside of the camera or phone. You can use your computer to organise all of your photos. Sort , categorise and delete all the unwanted photos. I know hard disk is cheap but time is not. Having thousands of unwanted photos is not cost effective if you are not going to do anything about it. I learned this the hard way. I am having trouble looking for the right photos that I wanted and I have to go through all those blurry and duplicate photos just to get to right one and I loose precious time.
Keep only the photos that you want to remember, make a project life out of it or print them out.

2. Print your digital photos

I have been meaning to print my photos during the weekend but somehow life just get in the way (a.k.a internet got me distracted). So during this "dark hours", I am using my computer to go through all the photos that I want to print and print them out. It is really sad that lately I have not print my photos. Having something tangible that I can share with the whole family is really satisfying. Now I know why my mom keep nagging me to print photos. She still love to hold a piece of our family history in her hand and I can see why. It's so much fun to enjoy the memory without a technology attach to it.

3. Make a Project Life mini album

What do I do with all the printed photos? Project life baby! It's time I took out my Project Life mini album and slip photos away. I have been meaning to make an album for my mom but just didn't get around to it. Now without the distraction I am more focus and can enjoy the process. I am also using some of my digital scrapbook kits from my collection as a journal cards or a filler cards for this project. I also add a few captions and dates on the photos that I am using for the project.

4. Play with Adobe Photoshop

It's time to sharpen my skills in photoshop. Making the time to learn new skill is so refreshing. Now I have the time to go through my lessons in Digi Dig Deep and practice. Like wise man say practice makes perfect. I do remember back in the days when there's no internet at home, the only thing at my disposal is my computer and my Adobe Photoshop 6.0. Somehow this feels like 1999 again.

5. Write your journal - Day one app

I am using Day One App as my writing tool this year. This app doesn't require internet connect connection except when you want to sync the content. So it's just perfect for me. I can write my thoughts without internet, which somehow I forgot. It's funny when you think of it. Computer wasn't build base on the internet connection, it was build to help you be more productive and work more faster. Somehow as irony as it sound, having internet somehow make us work more slower and have to deal and manage distraction.

There you go, your computer still can be useful even though your internet connection is "temporary down". Somehow it feels a little bit liberating not to check your emails every other minutes or check your Facebook every hours or play those candy crush thingy

This is the notebook I used last year for March, September and December lists. And the notebook is full already. So this year I am going to use a smash book art journal which I purchased from Amazon. It already comes with printed and designs paper in them. I have to improvise and made it work for March 2014 lists.

#thursday3 // 20.02.2014

This week feels like it's moving way too fast for me. Taking photos was the last thing on my mind. This morning I was feeling a little bit better and I got a chance to snapped this photo of him and me.

HERE IS MY PHOTO AND FACTS FOR THE WEEK

20022014

#1. I was sick since yesterday. I had a shivering fever and a really bad headache. So I am staying home today and recuperating.
#2. I really missed playing with this little guy. He wants to play with me yesterday but all I want to do is sleep and rest.
#3. The weather is too hot lately and it has not rain in a really long time. Mosquitoes are every where. It really bugs me because there's a case of dengue in my area

5 tips for // Having a great day

When you say good bye to someone, it's customary for people to say have a great day. The definition of a great day varies from one person to the next. It's the matter of how you look at things and how you define a great day. To me having a great day can be intentional, it's not accidental.
Here are a five tips I've used for years every time I felt down, hopeless or depressed. Having a great day is possible.

5TIPS-GREATDAY

#1. Smile - "Smile though your heart is aching, Smile even though it's breaking. When there are clouds in the sky you'll get by." Remembered that beautiful song? It's true that when you smile no matter what, your brain will intepret the action as happy and you will definitely be on the right track to have a great day

#2. Forgive others, anger hurt you more. You just cannot have a great day if in your heart and your mind is full with hate and anger.  Forgiveness help you let go of the past, old resentment and open your heart for more positive things. This is also part of letting go and moving forward.

#3. Start your day with "Dua [or pray]
Ask Allah for a great day a head and all the positive things you want to happen that day. This is part of 'Begin with the end in Mind' mindset that should be apart of your daily life. When you think positive things and ask or demand positive things than something magical happened! Guest what?!! You are going to see and find positive things around you.

#4. Simplify your life
Lately we have the tendency to complicate things, either our relationship, our work, our process of doing things and life in general, which can add up to a stressful day. The key is to simplify. Any aspect of your life that you can make it simple and get the job done, then do it. Checking things of your to do lists does feels great , hence will result in you having a great day.

#5. Wear red dress
I realize something, color can really effects your mood and your outlook on life. Wear something bright and something with color today. Before you know it, your mood, your energy and your perspective changed. And you will feel like to today is going to be a great day!

I hope that these simple tips can help boost your spirit and energy for the day. Till next time.....

Goal this week: P90X3

My first week doesn't go according to plan due to me getting sick on Wednesday and skipping Thursday workout because I was so tired and sick. I didn't get a chance to do any stretching workout this week.

I am a little bit scared to start doing P90X3. I've seen P90X before and I don't think I can do them and I also lack the equipment needed. I still don't have band and I still don't have bar. For those move I intend to use only my dumbbell and improvise the move. My goal is to work the muscle and burn fat at the same time.

[source from Pinterest]

Here is my fitness plan for this week: [Week 02]

  1. Start doing P90X3 in the morning. It's only 30 minutes and I can do 30 minutes.
  2. Make a fitness plan for this week and follow the schedule
  3. Do Jari Love Get Ripped to the Core on Saturday AND stretching on Sunday
  4. Continue drinking Herbalife tea through out the day from Monday - Friday. My goal is to drink at least 3 litter during the day.
  5. Drink Herbalife Shake for breakfast only
  6. For lunch eat light again. Monday: sandwich Tuesday: salmon steak

Wednesday: salmon caesar salad Thursday:  sandwich Friday : any pasta[no rice policy from Monday - Friday]
  7. Take the stairs at least once this week
  8. Walk around the office every one hour or so after sitting at my desk in front of the computer
  9. Do some stretching in of the office at least once a day
  10. Walk my daughter to school at least once this week

------------------------------------------------------------
This is part of the process of changing my lifestyle gradually. I need to take stock of what's work and what's not working. This is also part of my one little word in action - documenting my process

Project Life [Week 07]

Ever since I discovered and obsessed with Project Life I am always aware of the orientation of the photos I want to take. Is it horizontal or is it vertical? Do I have enough vertical page protector to hold my photos? By doing Digital Project Life, I have more freedom when it comes to arranging my photos in a layout. It can be vertical or horizontal, it doesn't really matter. I can work them in a layout.

This is my Digital Project Life for Week 07

Week 07 [Project 365]

There's a little hiccup this week, I have a fever on Wednesday and I realised that my two years old is addicted to iPad/iphone. So for week seven I spend most of my time weaning him off those addictive gadget. I introduce him to world of colours, stacks, balls, cars and many more. Got to put in extra effort and distract him every time he mention iPad. Believe me he asked for iPad every single day.

HERE IS MY WEEK IN PHOTOS

day 041Another manic Monday. I just don't have the energy to go to work today. I don't have the passion for it. Wearing a new dress really helps boost my mood.
  day 041

day 042 -On Tuesday we have SharePoint 2013. This is more system admin and infrastructure course, not so much on development and rebranding. I am a little bit disappointed. Hopefully the team can learn something and can create a beautiful and amazing portal
  day 042

day 043 I am not feeling so good today. I went to the clinic late in the evening and got an MC for tomorrow. I decided to spend the whole day at home and in bed
  day 043

day 044I am spending the day at home. Just me myself and I. The best about not working is I got to spend the morning with my husband
  day 044

day 045I don’t feel like eating heavy food this afternoon, so I opt for caesar salad at Padi restaurant. I love eating eggs and salad with garlic bread. I have a glass of peach tea and it taste so good. I like it.
  day 045

day 046 - Saturday morning, spending my time with these two wonderful kids. They made my day interesting and challenging at the same time. Every since I "digital detox" my boy, he started mumbling and talking again. Love to see him enjoying the real life.

 day 046

day 047 - I am feeling much better and this little boy is already in day 07 of digital detox. Now he wants to mumble, talk, play, eat and basically enjoy the real life. He is so much fun to be with. He laughs, he smile, he cries and he yells.
day 047

These are my life in photos for week seven. So many things happened and if I don't take the time to document them I might miss a lot. I still believe when you took the time to document the every day and the good things that happened in your life, you will be more grateful. Just saying.

  • decide to love myself more
  • plan to eat salad for lunch, since I already have heavy breakfast
  • am glad that I have done T25 Ript Up exercise this morning
  • intend to stick to my Digital Detox program for Hanif. I am on day 5. So far he has been enjoying life more.
  • plan to shop for toys this weekend
  • intend to keep it simple. Got to remember simple=done
  • suddenly I've been missing my life way back when Machintosh is the computer and people haven't even heard of Windows.
  • wish I have money to burn to satisfied my technology hunger
  • been daydreaming about my honeymoon trip
  • am converting my mental checklists into a written to do lists and check them off one by one

  • plan to make Today I ... as a monthly segment in my blog.

#thursday3 // 13.02.2014

This week work day is a long one for me and a busy one. On top of that I am not feeling so good. My whole world feel like falling apart and there's nothing I can do about it. Maybe all I need is good quality sleep.

HERE IS MY PHOTO AND FACTS FOR THE WEEK

13022014

#1. I am not feeling good this week. I was sick yesterday with a mild fever and I can’t even think, eat or do anything productive. I went to the clinic, home and straight to bed
#2. I have a Sharepoint 2013 training but it wasn’t what I expected. It is more for infrastructure team rather than for my team. I don’t know why, lately I don’t feel excited with Microsoft product like I used too. Everything feels the same and too complicated
#3. I have register for 30days of lists for March 2014. The price has increased from USD8.00 to USD10.00. It’s a little bit expensive for me but I join anyway. This challenge is another way for me to journal and write. One Little Word in action.
