#thursday3 [30.01.2014]

I am really glad I did this project. I know that by the end of this year I am going to have a series of my selfie and a little bit facts about my life in 2014. I just hope that by the end of the year, I will achieve my ideal weight and can really maintain a healthy lifestyle. I am so doing T25 workout almost daily. I am loving it and so far I have managed to do all of them except push up on my toes.

HERE IS MY PHOTO AND FACTS OF THE WEEK

30012014

#1. This is not a pleasant week for me. I have been suck into the drama which I don't intend to participate. I thought that story is already ended last year but somehow the previous actors just don't want to quit
#2. This week is a short work week because Chines New Year holiday is on Friday. I just love when we have a public holiday on Friday. It makes my weekend a little bit longer
#3. I feel like work wise is moving smoothly this year. Personal life is a little bit tricky. Healthy lifestyle and loosing weight is my goal for this week and that include getting enough quality sleep

"Think about it this way…If you take one picture and write down three facts each week — at the end of the year you’ll have more than 50 photos of yourself and 150 facts about what life has been like. It would make such an epic All About Me book — and most of the work is already done."excerpt from http://rukristin.com

Follow along each week using the hashtag #thursday3 dan tagged me @hanizeyecandy. I want to see your selfie and read about you.

Letting go

It has been a really long time since I made a scrapbook layout just for the fun of it. The month is almost over and I have accumulate lots of beautiful kit. Now is the time to sit down and make fun and meaningful layouts for 2014. It feels good to just sit in front of my computer and get lost in scrapbooking world.

Project Life is here {Malaysia}

I got asked a lot of questions about Project Life and where do I purchased mine locally. I was first introduce to Project Life in 2012. At first I thought this project is all about taking photos of your everyday life and document them in an album. How wrong I was! Project Life is so much more than that. It's a scrapbooking made simple. Either you are a traditional scrapper or a digital scrapper, you can do Project Life.
BeckyHiggins-ProjectLife-logo
In Becky's word, "Project Life is a solution-based approach to scrapbooking that was created to simplify the process in order to allow you more time to enjoy life! It requires no glue, no scissors, no tools, and no skills of any kind. The design of our products takes the guess work out of layout design so that you can focus on recording your everyday moments through your photos and journaling. The simple design is stylish and makes it possible for you to complete more pages in less time."

Where to get Project Life product if you live in Malaysia?

#1. Papier Store at the Curve, Damansara
#2. Scrap-n-Crop - online shop where you can get Project Life product cheaper
#3. Amazon.com - if the product you are looking for is sold out , you can always go to amazon.com to get more Project Life products.

I am still waiting for the shopping cart to be available at Becky Higgins website. I hope they shipped their product to Malaysia.

If you are computer savvy and love to do digital Project Life, you can always go to digital project life to shop and get more inspiration.

What you need?

The very basics that you need to complete an album are:
  1. 12x12 Binder
  2. Project Life® Core Kit
  3. Big Pack of Photo Pocket Pages
And of course your printer photos either 4x6 size of 3x4 size.

Where do I print my photos?

#1. If I have more than 200 photos to print and I want them like right now, I usually send them for print at Fujifilm photo studio. It cost me 40 cent per photo and I can get them in about one hour
#2. If I have only a few photos to print, I usually use my Canon Selphy CP900 Photo Printer.
#3. If I have time and I want to print various sizes at one time, I use my Canon E510 Pixma printer.

Project Life Core Kit

When is the time I usually do my Project Life?

I usually put my Project Life album out on a table. Every time I can steal about 10 to 20 minutes, I will print my photos and slip them in the album.
Only on the weekend I spend about 30 minutes on the project. Slipping in photos and cards in the album. I think the hardest part is to choose which photos to print and scrapbook worthy. Once you got you photos out of you computer, the rest of the process is easy.

The most important thing with this project or any other project is to have fun!

Project Life [Week 04]

Things are moving a little bit faster this week. I am struggling finding a new theme and what to capture on a daily basis. I sometimes refer to fatmumslim blog for inspiration. I am still trying to find a perfect and simple process for my daily photo. Something simple that I can do in less than one minute. Being consistent is the key to keep this project going for three hundred and sixty days.

This will be my look and feel for my photo book by the end of the year. Compiling these page weekly is so satisfying. I really hope I can maintain this phase. But in a case where I might not be able to them, I will not freak out because I know all the information is there in my day one app, in flickr and in my digital project life folder properly organize.

Twenty one Months {Hanif}

I almost forgot to record his twenty first month milestone. Since today is Sunday, we were busy enjoying each other's company.

21months
Some random things about him
* he loves to eat banana
* he doesn't like to eat apple
* he really can understand simple instruction
* he is still so damn cute
* he can recognise some simple objects and actions like ball, 'air', 'makan', tong sampah, susu
* he walks down the stairs and up the stairs by himself like an expert. He walks so carefully and really watch his steps.
* he finally agreed to drink milk from a bottle
* I really have to be careful where I put my Project Life cards. He loves to play with those cards
* he always move away every time I try to take his photos. I really have to grab his attention just to capture him looking at the camera

Even though the things that might now have to do with work or daily tasks, I think it is still important to do. I have been thinking about backing up my files since like forever but when I don't jot it down as something I have to do, backing up remains constantly on my mind without any action.
Now that I have jot down backing up as one of my to dos, I honestly making a plan and taking some action to get the job done.

If only I have the courage and the financial independence to just quit my job and be a full time mother to this little guy. I hope that he knows how much I love him.

day023

day 24 - It's Friday and I don't feel like going out during long lunch break. I have my lunch at Padi which is just two minutes away from my office (it's a walking distance). So far I am obsess with the nacho and the spaghetti.

5 tips for living a paperless life

I was told that right now money is very tight, for me as the individual and for the country as a nation. We were told to make a lot of sacrifices to help out any way we can to reduce expenses during this financial crisis.
For me as an individual who really embrace technology, it's a welcome challenge. Now more than ever people are going to rely more on technology to shorten their work process, to cut cost and to expedite their work.
From my personal view, one thing that we can do as an individual is to find a way to simplify any process and to use technology as a tool to work more effective and faster. One of the thing that we need to reduce and get ride of is paper clutter.
Here are five ways that I have been using for years to help me managed and reduce paper clutter in my life.

5tipsfor

#1. Receipts - scan all of your receipts and put them in Evernote
#2. Bills - opt for digital billing and pay your bills online. Most of telco company and other utilities company already have some kind of online payment system. Go for that and never look back
#3. Mails - try to opt for receiving letters. If possible use email as a form of communication. If you do receive them, sort and toss any unwanted mail
immediately.
#4. Kids art work - Scan the original, print them and put them in your Project Life album. Toss away the original
#5. Books or magazine - Do the purging and scanning process. For those important article you can scan them and store them in Evernote for future reference. Toss away the old ones and the not up to date content. If possible go for ebook version if you really must have them.

Going paperless is not easy initially. It takes a lot of scanning, tossing away stuffs, shredding and storing. Having Evernote and smart phone really helps expedite the process. Living a paperless life can help reduce stress and clutter in the long run. As long as you have internet, a smart phone and cloud services, all your information is at  your finger tips. This will left you with more time and energy to be more productive and invite creativity into your life.

#thursday3 [23.01.2014]

I just love Thursday. Selfie is one of my favourite thing to do on a daily basis. I can just see how much I have changed over the years. I totally look different from 2004. I think I have grow up, be more confidence and more comfortable in my own skin.
I am totally loving this project.

"Think about it this way…If you take one picture and write down three facts each week — at the end of the year you’ll have more than 50 photos of yourself and 150 facts about what life has been like. It would make such an epic All About Me book — and most of the work is already done."excerpt from http://rukristin.com
HERE IS MY PHOTO AND FACTS FOR THE WEEK

23012014

#1. I am finally letting go of PC world and jump into Mac world. It has been a really really long time since I use Macintosh. It was way way back when I was studying for my degree in the US. Now after more then seventeen years I am ready to revisit Mac. It feels different and familiar at the same time.
#2. Life at work is finally going back to normal. No more late night meetings and calls. No more feeling stress out when thinking about work. I love the freedom I get to do my job.
#3. My obsession with Project Life product is getting out of control. I need to go on Project Life diet. Just have to remind myself "Being with the End in Mind" ... what are my goals and make some planning before going on online and purchase stuff just because it's cute. So February is all about photos, making the album and finish up all my plan projects.

Follow along each week using the hashtag #thursday3 dan taged me @hanizeyecandy. I want to see your selfie and read about you.

The untold story

Back in November 5th 2006, I started my journey as a blogger. At first my intention was to write a little bit of this and a little bit of that about my life in general. It was such a great experience for me to be able to share my in sights and my thoughts about life and random things. Back then it was never about the money, it was never about popularity, it was only about the stories.

In April 2008, I decided to close my old blog and open a new blog that focus more on digital scrapbook, photos, life, art and beautiful things. My intention was to blog about all the happy things and all the beautiful things in life. This blog has become my sweet escape.

Since than the blogging world has bloom and become an industry on it's own, popularity and money becomes the main objectives. I was suck into that world and along the way I have lost the fun and the freedom to be myself. I just don't want to quit blogging. This is my sanity, this is my passion. I may not have the time to scrapbook all the things I want to remember, at least I have a little piece of history jot down on this blog.

I went to Ali Edwards, A Beautiful Mess, Amy T Shubert , Elise Blaha and many more for inspiration. This is when my One Little Word hit me right in the face - Write or Journal. I want to document my life more and write about them. I have thousands of random photos of my life and people around me in my hard disk and on flickr but with no stories attached to it. I was so busy obsessing with snapping photos but never really sit down, take a pause and really document and write my stories.
Once in a while when I had the time to scrap, I will write my journaling on the layout and these layout still remain on my hard disk.

Now with all the technology in the world, people still want to make a mark and tell our stories. Having something tangible you can hold on and look at is still the best option. This is where project life and smash book helps to simplify the process.

PL06
Just by writing this post, lists of ideas keep flooding in my mind for documenting the everyday like....
- I could make a layout base on this untold story
- the process of loosing weight
- pregnancy journal
- lists of the awesome things about your life right now
- top 5 apps that you use daily
- your inspiration journal or notebook
- 5 things you worry right now
- your bucket list
- if you could be in a tv show which one would you be in

Prompts like this can really help you to take a pause, think and write what's on your mind.
favequotes

My intention and planning for this year is to think and invite my word into my life on a daily basis. Get the habit of writing back into my life. So far I am using Day One app for writing down facts, thoughts and feelings about my project 365. I also use Evernote to make plans and ideas of what to write and lists of the things that kept, lingering in my mind. I also use Dropbox to keep all my Digital Project Life working files and finished layout so that I have access to them in all my devices ( so damn cool!)

Documenting your life is not only fun but it's historical. No one can tell your stories better than you.

10 things right now // Hanif

I am having trouble injecting my One Little Word into my life this week. I am so obsess with backup my data and finding the right work flow and the right solution so that "backup" will be part of my process.
The only thing that I could thing is making a list. Since my baby boy is growing up way too fast for me, I decided to capture his right now through the 10 things right now blog post.

hanif-right

1. He is still nursing. He will reject any bottle given to him when I am around. I stop forcing him. Sometimes I just gave him milk or drink in a big boy cup.
2. He is obsess with iPad. He immediately lighten up when he sees it. His favourite app so far is Nursery Rhymes and Coloring.
3. He loves to watch videos of him or any of his family member.
4. He can point out which one is which when he looks at our family photos
5. He can follow and understand simple instruction.
6. He can walk down the stairs and up the stairs by himself. He walks so carefully and really watch his steps.
7. He loves banana and can't get enough of it. He always asked for more than one.
8. Like all boys, he does love to play with cars, anything with wheels and he loves to play ball especially with his brother.
9. He still enjoys hide and seek.
10. And he calls every animal "Meow", (which in the beginning refers to cats). So so cute!

Oh boy! I am so loving this age. He is almost two and he is exploring his world like crazy and he absorbs tremendous amount of knowledge at a lightning speed. Only the act of writing down and documenting them is the only way I could think of to freeze time and captured him right now.

Project Life Week 03

I am so obsess with Project Life this month, either the real thing with core kit and album or the digital project life version. Somehow this system makes my life so much easier. Like Becky said, Simple equals done. And it's also help me focus more of the photos and not so much on the designs.

People always asked me or wonder how do I have the time to make a photo book or make a Project Life album. Well the answer is so simple. I print out my photo book only once a year. I design the page weekly and I made the time to capture my everyday life. It's the little things. I did not spend hours and hours every day for this project. Only once a week and I don't watch TV.

Week 03 // Project 365

It's the third week of January and I am feeling a little bit excited not because of work but because I decided to join One little word workshop and embark on Project Life using Becky's Product for the first time.
So far I am having a fun week just because I had two days public holiday and that means I had more time for Project Life and everything in between.

These are my week so far

day 013 - I had a really hectic start this morning. I wasn't prepare to send my kids to school. I had to skip a few of my morning routine just to cut short the process of getting out of the house a little bit faster. Alhamdulillah I've managed to send everybody to their respective destination safely. As the result I got to my office a little bit early than usual even though the traffic in the morning is congested. I am able to work at my desk with my iMac. I am still learning and getting used to Apple operating system. I an thinking of getting one for myself.

day013

day 014 - I love this face, so so cute. He was a little bit busy playing with iPad but when he saw me with a camera in front of my face, he immediately stop what he was doing and make some cute poses just for me.

day014

day 015 - Almost half of January gone by. The thing about doing Project 356 you are constantly aware of how fast the time moves. The thought of capturing the glimpse of what's your life look like at the moment is so satisfying.

day015

day 016My favorite makeup to date - Naked 3 eyeshadow from Urban Decay. I got this from Sephora last December at RM178 (I think).

day016

day 017 On the 17th January 2014, I finally letting go off Window and jump into Mac world. Today I bought my first iMac 21.5" retina display computer for the price of RM4997. After almost three month deliberating weather to buy a macbook pro or an iMac, I finally decided to invest on an iMac. My old HP PC is getting a little bit slower and occupied space.
My decision to buy an iMac is also due to the fact that I have already own ipad Air which is so much ligther than the macbook pro. On an average month I rarely bring my own laptop to work or anywhere I go.

day017

day 018 - It's Saturday even though at first I thought it was Sunday just because I was not working yesterday. I don't feel like cooking today, so we order Nasi Arab for lunch. This was the price today.

day018

day 019 - Sunday morning breakfast at Bangi Kopitiam. I just love this place not because of the food but because of the deco and the environment. I've always inspired every time I was here. This is my to do list notebook. I am already filling in the week of 20th January - 26 January. Wow! When you take the time to really documenting your to do lists, you are more aware of things you have to do - personally and professionally.

day019
These are my life in photos for week three. So many things happened in less than a month. I think when you took the time to document the every day and the good things that happened in your life, you will be more grateful. Just saying.

Do you join Project 365 this year?

the stories of home // my take

I was so inspired by Becky Higgins Stories of Home mini album, that I thought I would love to do one for myself, documenting my home right now. Before I rush out and bought more beautiful mini album from Project Life line, I plan to take details photos of my home, write a few journaling in my DayOne App as I see fit.

When I reach 80 photos of my home, than only I am going to buy myself a mini album (as a reward) from project life brand and make an album. Making an album is the easy part, making the time to take the photos is the hardest part.

These is what I got so far..

Photo Jan 15, 10 58 41 PM
My favourite lamp from Ikea. I bought this lamp way back when were living in our old house. I think that was six years ago.

Photo Jan 15, 10 58 59 PM

This is a photo of my current album a.k.a pre Project Life. I am totally going to convert some of them to Project Life album... Got to remember, keep it simple.. Simple = Done!
Photo Jan 15, 10 57 48 PM

This flower deco on my coffee table is the latest edition to the living room. I bought them at Romantica for Eid.

Photo Jan 15, 10 59 51 PM

And this wall frame deco is also the latest edition to our living room. Finally we found a frame that is big enough for the big space on the wall.

My plan for the month and next month, is to snap a few photos of one are of the house weekly and blogged about them here. I think by the time I reached eight photos milestone, by album is 80% done. I just have to buy the album, print out the photos and slip them in the pocket album.

Somehow it feels good to embark on this simple project that adding the value to my afford to write more and documenting my life more this year.

Everything has Changed // Pixelily Designs

January is still with us and that means it's not too late to make changes and get those resolutions going. Life is so much better when we have at least an idea what you want to achieve this year.
Pixelily Designs has a new kit special for this time of the month called Everything has changed. I just love the colour theme and the elements in this kit, so fun and happy,

This is a layout I made using the above kit
