Day 07:365

The things I do for the sake of burning calories and buying 10,000 steps in less than four hours. Hence the adventure to Mount Angsi (800m) with my husband and a few of my officemates on Saturday morning. I might not obsess with hiking but I do love doing different things than my normal workout routine.

One Little Word 2017: Connect

It's crazy how fast a year went by. I am still trying to finished up documenting my One Little Word for 2016 and I realize that 2017 is already here. I love my word Focus which I really enjoy exploring in 2016. Focus really helps me to get my priority straight and living my life more intentionally.

I have been playing with One Little Word project for a few years now and I really enjoyed the process.

My One Little Word that I choose in the last six years were:

No matter how I document my word in the past, either a lot or little I still benefit from choose one little word as a lens for me to explore my year.

I have no idea what word I wanted to invite into my life this year until I read a blog post by Ali Edward. She choose Connect as her one little word for 2017 and suddenly that word hit me to the core. I have been focusing a lot on my life for 2016 that I seldom connect and relate to others. So this year I decided to invite Connect into my life with open arm.

I don't technically join Ali Edward class this year, but from last year experience I am confident that I have the inspiration and the motivation to keep Connect alive for 2017. This year I decided to join Fit2017 class by Cathy Zielskie which I believe can help me connect with my fitness journey.

So my goal with my one little word is to:

* Connect with more understanding. I am not good with understanding people. People scares me a lot.
* Connect with my job. I have been working at my current job for more than twenty years. Somehow along the way I feel lost and disconnected with what I do. I want to reconnect with my passion for technology and helping people to do their jobs effectively. I have no idea how I am going to do this but ot has been bugging for a really long time.
* Connect with memory keeping. I have a scrapbooking burn out! I never thought that this day will happened. I have been scrapbooking for the longest time and suddenly I realized that I just can't scrapbook anymore. So this year I want to feel more passionate about memory keeping and explore different ways I can do that.
* Connect with living intentionally . I don't want my life to pass me by without doing anything about it. I want to live more intentionally. I want to be more connected with my daily life activities or routine that might seem mundane but make up your life in a big picture - like exercise, solah, eating, drinking, reading, journaling, grooming.
* Connect with nature / real world. I have been exploring hiking in 2016 as my way to loose weight. Even though I don't really like outdoor activities like camping or hiking, I wanted to be outside more. I have been too connected in the virtual world that I seldom connect in real world. This is going to be one of the toughest thing for me to do but I am going to try.

At this point of time I have no idea how I am going to achieve these goals. It doesn't really matter at the moment because I have twelve months to explore this word.

I also like the idea of exploring the opposite of my word which is Disconnect / Unlink. A few things I want to get rid off or disconnect with:

* Take things personally- I tend to take things personally a lot and this can easily cause me unnecessary stress.
* Overwhelmed with too many things - I need to embrace the idea of less is more.

For now I think this word is going to be a joy and a challenge for me. I am an introvert person by nature and connection with others is not something comes naturally to me.

I have the feeling that this year is going to be an amazing year

Day 06:365

I am blessed to be among these beautiful ladies who has a passion for doing something different. Life should be enjoyable. Microadventure is one of the best way to see your hometown or you work place in different perspective. I can't believe how beautiful this place really is. I can proudly say I love working in Putrajaya.

day 5:365

I am so excited with 2017 even though money is going to be tough especially at work. I have no idea why this happened -every year we get less and less money for operational purposes. I am having a hard time planning for this year projects. Hopefully things will be better and we can spend money to upgrade our IT equipments and infrastructures.

Now - all meeting is without any food and beverages. In away it's a good thing because we can now control what food we ate and we have to bring our own f&b for meetings and discussions.

Day 4 :365

It feels good to be back at work. I am a bit sad to leave the comfort of my home and go to work. I just love the freedom of time and the freedom of commute.

Anyway, in the spirit of putting a positive spin on things, here are a few things that I am excited about today:
- stairs to be exact 18th floor which I can enjoy anytime I like
- I got to use my planner to plan for 2017 projects
- decorate my office
- throw away old decorations and unwanted stuffs
- meeting people at work
- meal plan for lunch
- selfie with my work clothes

Day 3 : 365

It is the first day of school here and I am still enjoying my day off from work. As always on this day we went for groceries shopping for the month of January. Effective 1st January 2017, plastic bag for shopping is no longer free. The consumers will be charged RM0.20 for every plastic bag. I am not sure if this is a good thing or not. If they want to promote healthy living they should have follow Ikea example, no plastic bag at all. Either you bring your own or you have to carry them without any bags. So from now on I have to carry my shopping bags everywhere I go. I am missing two shopping bags hemmm.. I need to find them before my next shopping trip.

January 01, 2017

I am thankful that I am alive today to celebrate 2017 with my family. In three years we will be welcome the year 2020-- the year when Malaysia will be a fully develop country and blossom economy that everybody can enjoy.

As our yearly tradition, we went to KLCC for family photoshoot on the first day of the year. I got the feeling that this is going to our last family photoshoot. My kids are growing up and they have their own lives to live.

January is for ....
- choosing my one little word for 2017. I may not joined Ali Edwards class this year but I like having my one little word to live by and explore
- I
decided to enrolled in Fit2017 class by Cathy Zielske. I like the idea of documenting my fitness journey. I want 2017 be the year of fitness for me
- complete setting up my planner for 2017. I think I will go for Bullet Journal for 2017. I stop buying hard copy planners like Kikki K or any other planner. I am going fully digital this year.
- recite Quran daily and finished it this year. Currently I am aiming to finish reciting Quran every year.
- It's time for Project 365 this year. It's good to take a year break from doing this project. I am so excited to do this project again this year.
- continue making lists either on my blog or in my journal
- write, doodle, colouring, running and doing 21 day fix extreme again this year.  Never stop doing things that I love
- making resolutions and stick to it
- never stop printing photos. Never let those memories lost away in my phone

Do you make any specific goals this year?

Day 1 : 365 πŸ“·

Family tradition- Photoshoot at KLCC. I finally caved in and used monopod. It's so much easier to get all of us in a frame but not easy to get the right angle.
