#thursday3 [04.08.2016]

Hello August! I can't believe that the day went by pretty quickly especially when I have so many things to do. Sleep has become less and less important lately. Sometimes I wish I have a magic power to control time.

HERE ARE MY PHOTO AND FACTS FOR THE WEEK

1. I already started doing Insanity Max 30 program and T25 Focus Beta program this week. It's a little different than 21 day fix extreme.

2. I am currently watching Bosch TV series on iflix. I like Harry Bosch series by Michael Connelly and I am not sure what to expect.

3. Hitting 2000 calories burned daily has become harder and harder. I have no idea why? Is it because of my age? Hemmmmm.....

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Think about it this way…If you take one picture and write down three facts each week — at the end of the year you’ll have more than 50 photos of yourself and 150 facts about what life has been like. It would make such an epic All About Me book — and most of the work is already done." - rukristin.com

After Anna // book review

I have finally finished reading this book last weekend. It took me a long time to finish the book not because it's not good but I got distracted with other books on my list.

What the book is all about?
"No.1 EBOOK BESTSELLER. A SUNDAY TIMES TOP 10 PAPERBACK BESTSELLER. A USA TODAY PAPERBACK BESTSELLER.
The real nightmare starts when her daughter is returned…
A bone-chilling psychological thriller that will suit fans of Gone Girl, by Gillian Flynn, Daughter, by Jane Shemilt, and The Girl on the Train, by Paula Hawkins.
A girl is missing. Five years old, taken from outside her school. She has vanished, traceless.
The police are at a loss; her parents are beyond grief. Their daughter is lost forever, perhaps dead, perhaps enslaved.
But the biggest mystery is yet to come: one week after she was abducted, their daughter is returned.
She has no memory of where she has been. And this, for her mother, is just the beginning of the nightmare." excerpt from amazon.com

What do I think?
-this is the first time I read a book by this author. The setting of the story is around London.
- It's every parent's nightmare to have a missing child. Going through the ordeal can changed people.
- the book tell a story from the perspective of the mother and the kidnapper. You have no idea who the kidnapper was until the end of the book
- I kinda wish that the book has a different ending. I need it to end with a bang! A story like this deserved to have a great ending. Other than that I truly enjoyed the book.

I highly recommend this book if you like psychological thriller genre. It's well written and it's a little scary at times.

Part of cultivating a good life is to celebrate little things

Life is full of little moments and little things which can be forgotten if we don't take the time to record them.

One of the way to record the little things is by writing about those moments and take some photos. The best way to do them is to make a layout with Project Life app. In less than a minute you can document your life with photo and beautiful journaling card.
So when I saw this beautiful color on this wall, I just had to pose in front of it. There are so many beautiful things / moments like this all around us. We just have to hit a pause button and captured the moment with your camera. Believe me when I tell you that a week from now you might have forgotten about those beautiful wall.

This photos were taken during our weekend trip to Avani Resort Gold Coast Sepang. Other than taking photos of ourselves around the room, I have also taken the time to open up my google maps and looked at where we were staying and screen capture the location.
We also went to 3D Art Gallery at Port Dickson. It's fun for me to take all of these beautiful memories and photos of us. I just need to make a layouts and print them out.

This one is my favorite. When I took away his ipad, this is what I saw happened. My son finding ways to entertain himself. I immediately stopped what I was doing and take a few photos of him and his environment with Template A in mind. I love this everyday moment when life happens and sometimes you just don't notice.

One of the things that I like to capture is my daily routine at the moment. I love this activity and the all the team member who take the time out of our busy life to climb the stairs. It's not easy to climb up to 18th floor but with the right company it's become a social event and fun.

I know that capturing daily life can be intimidating and overwhelmed at times. You do need a lot of practice because you don't want to capture every single thing daily. You need to be selective with your proses and work flow. This is where habit 2 come in place - Begin with the end in mind - you have to know what your end product is going to be. For me I used all of those daily photos on my journal and I also make digital layouts and print them out as photo book at the end of the year.

16 goals in 2016 Update

Today is the last day of July, so it's about time I review my 16 goals in 2016. I made this list in January 2016 and I really need to look at this list to see my progresss.

Here goes nothing....

1. Be more active
- I decided to buy fitbit alta last April and I am so glad that I did. This beautiful device really help me to move more. I have become obsess to complete 10,000 steps in a day goal. That really helps with my goal to be more active this year.

2. Read five books from my to be read pile
So far I have read Magpie by Mark Edwards and Pretty Girls by Karin Slaughter. I am not sure if I would read NYPF Red 3 and The Here and Now book. I have so many books that I wanted read and I think I sill can achieve five books on my to be read pile this year.

3. Read two non fiction books
I am glad to report that I have finished reading Getting Things Done by David Allen, Better than Before by Gretchen and Seven Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen R. Covey. I tried to read the life changing art of tidying up but I just can't managed to finish it.

4. Implement Getting Things Done (GTD) methodology at work and at home
This is still a learning process for me. Some days I am very good at implementing GTD method and some day I am not. I hope to master this method by the end of the year especially at home.

5. Recite Quran at least 40 verses a day
So far I have managed to recite at least 20 verses a day and 40 verses if I recite the surah more than one time. I am hoping to reach this goal for the rest of the year because not I am already at the part where the verses are more shorter.

6. Utilise the planner that I have. Keep the current planner to three
I start the year with the intention to keep at least three planner active at one time. I am happy to report that I have managed to keep those planner - I am using mostly iPlanner on my iPad, filofax for work and erin condren life planner for everything else.

7. Choose photos from last year and print them out
I am glad that I have already started to print out photos from the beginning of the year to put in my Project Life album and in my journal.

8. Backup my digital photos and documents at least twice a month
I am trying so hard to remember backing up my photos at least twice a month. I don't know why I didn't put it in my planner. I just finished backing up my photos from April to July. I need to do a better job of keeping up with the latest backup my photos.

9. Go for quality
This is a little bit tricky. I tried to keep my purchased to a minimum by choose quality over quantity. This require a lot of research and only buy things that I really need. My biggest purchased this year would have be iPad Pro 9.7" and Apple Pencil. And this is the best investment I have ever made. Love this two product.

10. Save up for macbook air 13"
I am not sure if I will have enough to get one by September 2016. I have to push back this purchased until March 2017. Hopefully things will be so much better next year. (looking forward to PRU14 next year)

11. Make creativity as part of my daily routine
Being creative and consciously decide to be creative takes a lot of planning. I tried to do adult coloring but that didn't seem to pick up. I keep a journal and I try to write in them a few times in a week. I am hoping to do this on a daily basis but somehow it did not happened. I have to focus and choose only a few activities in creativity theme.

12. Write in my journal at least three times a week
I am happy that I have kept a journal until July even though not every single day. It's the best thing I have to get things out of my head. I tried brain dumping but I ended up not doing it regularly. I would very much like to do it for the rest of the year. Maybe doing brain dumping on weekly basis will be much more manageable.

13. Make scrapbook pages or Project life layouts at least three times a week
I have managed to keep up with Project life layouts weekly. Doing project life on my phone is so much more easier and simpler. I love it.

14. Doing some exercise at least four times a week - pick something that I enjoy doing
I am happy to report that I have a workout routine that I enjoy doing - 21 day fix and 21 day fix extreme.

15. Listen to Quran recital everyday before bed.
I tried to listen to Quran recital everyday but somehow that only happened a few times in a week. I know I can do better. I just need to remember to do it

16. Taking control of my monthly or yearly subscriptions.
I have lists down all of my subscription and now I know what I have, what I need and don't need. I will keep a close eye on this lists and review them for next year. I have terminate one subscription this year (Messy box has to go ) cause I just can't afford it anymore. Currency exchanged is way to high at the moment.

There you have it. My sixteen goals for twenty sixteen update. This is a good time to review them and look at what works and what's not working. It's time to make a few changes and tweaks to achieve those goals.
