Digital Project Life [Week 49] and [Week 50]

Wow! The year is almost over and I am happy to report that with Project Life app I am able to be caught up with all my photos for Project 365. For week 49 and week 50 I am keeping thing simple and back to basic. When I am crunch on time I just put in photos, card filler, journaling card and I am good to go. No editing from any other app. Got to love the simplicity of this approach. Sometimes all you want to do is enjoy the photos.

I am listing my week48, week 49 and week 50 in one post even though I have made a project life layout for week48. It's December and I am in the mood of relaxing, unwind and thinking about what planner should I use in 2016.

HERE IS MY WEEK IN PHOTOS

[WEEK 48]

DAY 327- Day two at Movieworld, Australia. I thought this place was big but it wasn't that big.

Day 328

DAY 329- Day three, Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary about 20 minutes drive from our hotel.
Day 329

DAY 330- Day four, visiting Alpaca Farm at Lamington Park about one hour and five minutes drive.
Day 330

DAY 331- Day five, sightseeing at Brisbane. Nothing special plan just go with the flow.

Day 332

DAY 333- We changed our internet plan. Upgrade to 30 Mbps Unifi package. Hopefully no more buffering while streaming video.
Day 333
[WEEK 49]

DAY 334- Monday I was still on leave from work. I was so tired from the trip and there's a lot of things to deal with like cleaning the house and laundry. And that night we had dinner at Lengkuas , it feels good to be able to eat halal food anywhere.
Day 334

DAY 335- It has been a long time since the he played with the iPad. Once he got his hands on it, it's very difficult for him to let go. I think this is true not only for the kid but for the father too.. hemmm
Day 335

DAY 336- I am planning to use Large Kikki K leather in black for my 2016. I am going to keep everything simple and focus more on planning.
Day 336

DAY 337- Apparently I forgot to take photos for Wednesday and I am not sure why. Maybe because I was so into printing photos on my canon selphy and journal about my day
Day 337

DAY 338- It's two days in a row that I forgot to take photos. Maybe I have some on my camera but I am too lazy to check.
Day 338

DAY 339- It's Saturday and the most sad news we heard on TV/ facebook was the death of YAM Tunku Jalil ibni Sultan Ibrahim. He was such a young man only a few years older than my son. Even though I am not really following the story but his death really leave an impact on me.
Day 339

DAY 340- I was still at Batu Pahat visiting my dad. We have crown monument here and I just can't passed up the opportunity to capture a few photos here.
Day 340

[WEEK 50]

DAY 341- Monday, it's fire drill at the office. It was a little bit weird for me when the announcement to get back to the office was not made by the firemen.

Day 341

DAY 342- I was testing Yes broadband network at the office. Streaming iflix with Yes broadband seems smooth. No buffering.
Day 342

DAY 343- My polaroid zip mobile printer arrived today. That was fast. I ordered it from erincondren website last Thursday and I got it in less than a week. I can't wait to play with it. Hopefully I can find the paper printer locally.
Day 343

DAY 344- I am still testing Yes Broadband network. We were at the basement of IOI City Mall and the connection dropped.
Day 344

DAY 345- I took the day off just to relax and enjoy life with my kids. I love watching played with jigsaw puzzles. He made me love puzzles all over again.
Day 345

DAY 346- Both of them were not watching football but they were watching Running Man TV show on astro. I don't get the show but my baby boy seems to get it.
Day 346

DAY 347- Him with his new puzzles. This one is a little bit bigger and more portable. He loves it even though at first he can't see the big picture.

U Mobile is it worth it?

The verdict is in, after lots of thinking and debating I decided to go for U Mobile broadband as my second and backup internet line. I know I know I am pethatic for wanting to be connected all the time. What can I say, I love internet and video streaming. I just can't live a day without interent or without knowing that I have a backup mobile internet with me.

I have been a maxis user for as long as I can remember and I don't have any complain. I just want more GB internet quota with reasonable price. I am hoping that maxis will decrease the price of 9GB internet mobile quota to below RM100 but so far there's nothing. Not even a blip. This force me to look at other mobile services out there like Yes, digi, celcom, uMobile, p1max and redtone. I almost sign up for yes but the 24 months contract really make me think twice. Do I want that kind of commitment with a company I have no idea about? What if I am not satisfied with the services, I have to wait for two years?!

Then I went to U Mobile store at IOI City Mall and I asked about the mobile broadband package.

I choose MB88 package with free MiFi modem. The beauty of this package is there's no contract and I have to pay about RM160(+6% GST hemmm seriously GST?!!!) for activation and registration. I will get RM10 rebate every month for 10 months for the activation fee.

So far I am happy with the service. I have no complain yet. I can stream video beautifully at home and at work. I am in the middle of watching Once Upon a time and I just can't stop streaming. I wish Malaysia have some kind of package that gives youtube and video streaming for free... that will definitely be an attractive package for me.

I have been using U Mobile to stream videos and Youtube at work for the last two days. The connection from my room is good but the connection from the meeting room which is about 3 - 4 meters from my room is horrible. I am not sure why that's the case. I don't even get any internet connection. My maxis 4G works just fine.

I haven't tested this network along PLUS Highway and other rural area in Malaysia so I am not sure how's the performance.

U Mobile

At the moment I recommend U Mobile package for people who need a backup internet connection with reasonable price, free modem and no contract. I will make another review of this broadband network after I used this for more than a month, how long 9GB quota lasted in a month and if I will keep this or terminate the subscription.

#notasmartphone

It's amazing to see how much our lives has changed in the last decade. I was a child born in a world when there wasn't internet or smart phones to get connected. During that time the way for people keep in touch was via a phone call or writing a letter. Life feels a little bit slower. Thoses were the time when the only way to see your photos were to get them developed and printed out on either on a 3R or 4R paper. You have to wait a week before you can see them.

I hate to say that I do missed the good old days. The time where people try so hard to stay connected. I missed receiving love letters from a love one or even from a secret admire. I missed a phone called from a love one. People don't even call anymore.

Now there are too many mediums to keep in touch and stay connected to other people even to strangers. Sadly enough we don't make the same effort to the people that are in front of us. We don't talked to them anymore.

Husband doesn't talk to the wife
Kids don't talk to their mother
Friends don't talk to friends
Siblings rarely talk to each other

What we do, are talk to followers/ subscribers/ facebook friends or even having affair with other people husbands/wives seems so normal now.
What a strange world we lived in. If you are #notasmartphone people don't even look at you anymore.

When I read A Beautiful Mess blog post today about #instagramhusband, it really got me thinking about how our lives has changed and evolved around selfies and what looks good on instagram. Nothing seems real any more.

The more connected we are the more disconnected we've become. It's time for me to do something about it. So here goes nothing.......

In 2016, I am pledging to .....

#1. Be present
- I pledge to keep my phone in my pocket/bag ...
During meeting --- pay attention to the discussion
At home -- talk to my kids and play with them
In a car -- drive and think about life
Make a lists of my to dos to reduce distraction from my phone

#2. Print photos
- I pledge to print at least 80% of all the photos I took
So this means be more selective of things or people that I capture. No more twenty selfies a day. Use more point and shoot camera.

#3. Make exercise/working out a prority
- I pledge to move more, exercise more in 2016 and stop making excuses
Do this not to loose weight but as a way to make myself feel better. Spending one hour exercising means one hour of my life without a phone or facebook.

#4. Recite Quran as much as I need water
- I pledge to finish reciting Quran at least twice in 2016
I feel like my connection to Allah has slowly decrease. I really need a spiritual boost! Hemmm I need to put this in my planner, maybe making a stickers will help as a reminder

Wish me luck. This is going to be difficult because I am the kind of girl who can't live without internet even for one day.

Have a great holiday and don't forget to take the time to smell the flowers

XOXO
