4 years... the iPhone story

Today is the official released date of iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s plus in Malaysia. I would love to have one of the new phone but given the horrible currency exchange right now has caused the price to go up way high. I wish I am in the category of consumer who have a higher purchasing power, the one who don't even care about the price, the one who can buy a new piece of technology without breaking a sweat. I guess I am not there yet. Hopefully one day I will be there. One can dream right.

I would love to be an early adopter of new technology but I don't have enough resources to do so. I only managed to get Apple watch this month after searching for it since early this year. ( I don't understand why it took that long for Apple watch to be officially available in Malaysia. )

Then this afternoon I stumble upon this youtube video, which I think captured a little bit of how much has changed through out the years.

Watching these iPhone Ads really brings a lot of memory for me. When I first used mobile phone with a camera (I think it was Sony Ericsson I am not sure which one but I used to be a fan girl of Sony phone)  I could not see a phone can be used as my go to camera. I always hated the quality of the photo taken from a phone. The iPhone has definitely changed my mind about mobile phone photography a.k.a iphonography.

In the middle of 2011 decided to use iPhone 4 just to see what the fuss is all about. The first time I got my iPhone 4 I was not impressed. I was totally stress out by how simple the phone was. I missed a lot of features that I got from Sony Xperia that were missing from the iPhone 4.

The Apple family

Then I discovered the App Store and all the cool apps that they have like Instagram, WhatsApp, Camera +, Calendar, (I am kicking myself for not documenting what were the first few apps I ever bought in 2011) and many more. Slowly I keep adding apps to fit my lifestyle  and my need like photo editing app, camera apps, Project life app, productivity apps and many more. After awhile without realizing I slowly falling in love with the iPhone. The phone grew on you.

I kept waiting for me to grow tired of the iPhone and go back to Sony or even try Samsung Galaxy but that day have not come yet. After four years the love keep getting stronger and there's no turning back. The iPhone has become the life changing technology that I have been waiting for and I slowly get suck into the vortex of Apple ecosystem like iPad, iMac, Apple TV and the latest Apple watch. It's an investment that grew over time and really help me living my life to the fullest. (Shhh..  I am also seducing my family member to join the cult and I am very happy that most of them have join)

The other day it hit me, ever since I used iPhone 6 plus I have been using my computer less and less. Slowly these activities and process has been taken over by my iPhone like.....

  • Scrapbooking
  • photo editing
  • camera
  • daily planner
  • alarm clock
  • reminder
  • ebook
  • entertainment - music, movies
  • blogging
  • scanner
  • digital notebook
  • video camcoder
  • map
  • teaching tools for my toddler
  • monitor my workout and calories burn in  a day
  • video conferencing
  • movie tickets
  • online shopping
  • act as my digital briefcase - I use my phone to access my digital content from dropbox or google drive
  • and sometimes when the internet in my home is down I use my phone as a modem
  • recite Quran on the go
  • a remote for my Apple TV
  • and sometimes I talk to Siri just for the fun of it
I am sure over time the way I use my phone will change and there will be many more apps created. One thing for sure is mobile phone is here to stay. No matter what brand you choose be happy with it and used the technology to it's fullest potential. Loving what you have is the most important thing.

    Undercover // the review

I have not read a Danielle Steel book in a really long time. When I read the excerpt of the book I just have to read it.

    What this book is about?

"Marshall Everett has traveled a twisting, perilous road from the jungles of South America to the streets of Paris. As an undercover DEA agent, Marshall penetrated a powerful cartel and became the trusted right-hand man of a ruthless drug lord. The price he paid was devastating, costing him everything—and everyone—he loved. Back in the U.S., on temporary assignment to the Secret Service, on the presidential detail, Marshall performs an act of heroism that changes his course forever.

Ariana Gregory has her whole future ahead of her, with an exciting life in Manhattan and a coveted job at an online fashion magazine. But when her father, recently widowed, is appointed U.S. ambassador to Argentina, she reluctantly agrees to accompany him to Buenos Aires. Then an unthinkable act of violence shatters her world. Nearly a year later, Ariana arrives in Paris, on a fragile road to recovery. There, as she strives to bury painful memories forever, she crosses paths with Marshall Everett. But dangerous forces watch her every move, and Ariana and Marshall will once more have to fight for their survival

In this breathtaking and psychologically penetrating novel, #1 New York Times bestselling author Danielle Steel explores the consequences of trauma and the perseverance of the human spirit. In Marshall and Ariana she has created two unforgettable characters confronting extraordinary challenges—who no longer need to face them alone." excerpt from amazon.com

    What do I think?

    - this book was told from two main characters Marshall and Ariana but in a third person version. I like that.
    - knowing Danielle Steel I know that this story is going to a love story in it somewhere. I think she should focus more on that.
    - the last few chapters feel a little bit rushed. I would have love to read more about Marshall and Ariana relationship. Their background story should be minimum.
    - I would have love it more if Danielle Steel keep the Paris story a little bit longer with Marshal and Adriana. I think that's my favourite part of the story.
    - I agreed that this is not one of Danielle Steel best work but it still managed to keep me interested. I've finished this book in five days which is a record for me.

I recommend this book if you like Danielle Steel and would love to read about a world that is so crazy that you would have never experience it yourself

    Project 365 [ Week 41]

Week forty one was not my best week. I felt so stress out to start the day and went to work every single day. I am so desperate for things to change. Maybe it's about I move to a different ministry or quit. I hate my job so much but I am too afraid to let go.

HERE IS MY WEEK IN PHOTOS

DAY 278- I felt a little bit lonely today. I miss my mom, I miss my old life, I miss my husband and I miss who I was. I decided to have lunch with my son since he finished his work by twelve. In a way I am lucky that my son went to a school near home and I got to see him everyday.

    Day 278

DAY 279- On the second day I am feeling a little bit better. I wore a new hijab and this color looked good on me.
    Day 279

DAY 280- My dinner for today is herbalife shake. I am trying to loose a few kilos and eating solid food at night doesn't really help me achieving my goal.

    Day 280

DAY 281- And on Thursday I went to OBB Workshop at Foundation of Leadership Putrajaya. I like that place but I don't really understand OBB.
    Day 281

DAY 282- A lot of my staffs were not in mostly because half of them were particiapting in NRE Sports Day which were held at INSTUN, Behrang. Go team go!!

    Day 282

DAY 283- We went to IOI City mall and planning to watch Polis Evo. We went to Pizza Hut for lunch before the movie. I love going out with my kids especially now that three of them are all grown up.
    Day 283

DAY 284- I can't believed that today is the day I got my Apple Watch! And the one that I want which is 38mm Rose Gold Sport Edition in in stock. To bad they don't have one for display. I would love to try 42mm version. By the way I got mine at Direct D.

    Polis Evo // Movie Review

Yesterday my kids suggested to me to watch Polis Evo movie. I am not a fan of Malay movie but I was intrigue enough when the movie are basically full house most of the time. The movie has been playing since September.

I went into the theatre without knowing anything about the movie is all about. I don't even know who's acting in it.

What the movie is all about?
"Starring Shaheizy Sam and Zizan Razak, the film follows two policemen, Khai and Sani, who have very different personalities. However, they have to put aside their differences when they have to work together in a mission to defeat a drug trafficking syndicate. " excerpt from cinemaonline.com

    What do I think?
    - the movie is well written. I didn't feel bored or wanted to sleep
    - the most important thing for me is I didn't feel stupid. watching it.  I am an action junkie movie and I have watched most of them especially when there's Jackie Chan in it.
    - cinematogarphy and technical thing about the movie is acceptable except when it comes to bloody scene , not as real as what I used to watch.
    - the characters are well developed and I can't help but care about them
    - the overall sequence of the storytelling is smooth except a few hiccups in the end like scene in the end when the police raid the drug dealer pad even though they knew that their cover was blown. The kidnapping scene is also unnecessary unless they do more with it.
    - overall I am having a good time watching this movie. I bet they will make Polis Evo 2 and Polis Evo 3, heheheh...
    - by the way I was impressed with Shaheizy Sam acting and he looks buff and yummy.

I do recommend watching this movie if you like action comedy and Shaheizy Sam
