Life after the lost

I thought I was okay, I thought I can live my life happily but now almost a year later I still feel the same kind of sadness that I felt before. I have been struggling with this emotional roller coaster of crying, depress, laughter, smiling, angry, regret and many more for about a year. Dealing with the lost of my mother is not easy for a daughter to handle. Suddenly I find myself totally alone and have no where to turn to.

Everyday has been a struggle. The loneliness that creep inside of me is very hard to ignore. When facing with difficult situation in my life, I look around and there's no one there {at least not the one who really genuinely care about me and my well being},  for me to consult. Ramadan is the worst for me just because this used to be one of my mom's favorite month. I kept thinking about her and missing her every second of the day.

I dreamt about her yesterday. In my dream I got to hug her and tell her everything about my life. I missed her so much. The void that she left behind has not been filled and it's slowly killing me inside. I tried so many things to stop myself from falling down into depression hole but so far I am hanging by a thread here. Holding ever so tightly so that I will not fall. It's exhausting and it's hard.

me and my mom

I have heard it all before:
    - Death is inevitable, accept it and move on
    - Allah is with you, don't be sad
    - Dua
    - recite Quran
     and many more....

faiz05

I've tried everything. It works for awhile but when the excitement and thrill are gone, I look around there's no one there. This whole experience really teach me to be completely depend on Allah. I have to keep reminding myself that nothing is ever permanent in this world. I will follow my mom one day but I am not sure if I will ever meet her again.

Times like this really reminds me why I love memory keeping and scrapbooking. I am thankful that I took the time to capture my life and hers in photos. These are a few of tangible items of her that I can look back and enjoy.

My mom was a natural born memory keeper. She loves taking photos and she insist that we took a photo of our family at least once a year.

Memory keeping for beginner // 6 ways

I have been a memory keeper for as long as I can remember. I think I got this need to keep every thing and take photos of everything from my mother. Now that she's gone I really appreciate all the things that she thought me especially when it comes to printing photos.

Having something tangible that you can hold, touch and smell is so much more rewarding than looking thing virtually and on the cloud.

If you are wondering if you have the genes or the talent to be a memory keeper, wonder no more. If you do these on your daily basis than you are memory keeper at heart.

6ways-memorykeepingbeginner

1. The simplest way to memory keeping is by using only pen and paper

Pick up a notebook and your favourite pen and start writing. Write all the things that bothers you, anything random that have been lingering in your mind. Your feelings and your emotions are also important to be included in the notebook.

2. Photos

With only a camera or a phone camera, you can capture life as it happens. Take a lot of photos and if possible take them daily especially those little normal things that when summing it up can represent your life at the moment.

3. Make time

At the end of the day simply allocate a few minutes to reflect on life. Things you learned, things you discovered, photos you took and write them in your journal. The easiest way to document life is by making lists. #listersgottalists challenge is a good way to start with memory keeping.

4. Choose a medium to host your memory

You can choose any medium that you like to host your memory like notebook, journal, album, pocket album, planner, midi or even your phone. At the beginning choose one that you enjoy using and stick to it. Having a simple system in place can help with developing habit of memory keeping.

5. Choose the right tools

Tools like pens, stickers, papers, water color or digital scrapbook kits can really help to make your journal or planner pretty. Lets face it, looking at something pretty is so much fun and make you want to do more.

6. Have fun

And don't ever forget to have fun. Memory keeping should not be a tasks. It's something that you do capture a part of your life that you find worth to remember. Making things pretty is totally an optional thing when it comes to memory keeping but create something pretty is always a good thing.

Photo Prompt #22: Bag

Challenge #22: Bag

Day 21: Bag

Ever since I stop carrying my laptop to work, I have been searching for the right bag for work so that I don't have to carry two bags. This bag pack is big enough for my iPad, stationary case, my wallet and my planner. I try carrying my new Erin Condren Life Planner in this bag but it makes the back feel heavier.

#thursday3 [ 09.07.2015]

Welcome to another instalment of #thursday3 project. For the record I have been doing this project for more than a year now and I am totally loving the concept. It's a cool way to document my life and my right now in a list.

HERE ARE MY PHOTO AND FACTS FOR THE WEEK

09072015

#1. Ramadan is almost over and I am feel sad about that. I really like the idea of not eating during the day. I totally have a few extra hours in the day when not thinking about what to eat every three to four hours.

#2. I am excited to play with my new Erin Condren planner. I finally caved in a bought myself my first Erin Condren Life Planner. With a planner as pretty as this I am not sure I will decorate more than necessary. It's already pretty.

#3. I am reading Trauma by Michael Palmer and Daniel Palmer. I always love medical thriller story. Love the story so far.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Think about it this way…If you take one picture and write down three facts each week — at the end of the year you’ll have more than 50 photos of yourself and 150 facts about what life has been like. It would make such an epic All About Me book — and most of the work is already done." - rukristin.com

Digital Project Life [ Week 27 ] and more...

Ever since I used my #listersgottalists layout page in my Project Life layout I was totally hooked to the idea. It's the fastest and the easiest way include some journaling into my page. For week 27 I still used Project Life app with Olive Digital Kit from the app.

AND MORE...................

Ever since I discovered that Picstitch app and Picframe app can imitate Project Life app, I have been exploring these apps to make these layouts. I like that they have a different frame template that I can adjust and play with. And as always I used Phonto app to add text and elements on my layouts.

And this is from Project Life app. I used a different template from the above page.

Hope you are inspired to try mobile scrapbooking / phone scrapbooking. It's fun and it's easy to do. In less than an hour I got to make these five layouts right from my phone. No more time wasted during long queue.

Photo Prompt #19: Whats for Iftar?

Challenge #19: What's for Iftar?

Somehow today I didn't feel like eating any rice or noodle. So today's menu is Subway Sandwich, dates and apricots. It's sufficient enough to stop the hunger and feeling full at the same time.

Project 365 // Week 27

Welcome to the third quarter of the year. We are already in week 28 this week. Last week was a transition from the month of June to the month of July. This time of the year makes me think a lot about what happened last year. I've missed my mom so much. The emptiness slowly creeping inside my heart. I've always talking to my mom in my head that sometimes the pain is too much for me to bear.
One of the ways that kept me busy on a daily basis is capturing life as it happened. A little bit of me to left behind. Hopefully when I'm gone, these memories will help my kids to move on and not to miss me too much.

HERE IS MY WEEK IN PHOTOS

DAY 180- This is what I will be using for July #listersgottalists challenge. I love making the list using my iPad. It gives me the same satisfaction as the paper journal does.

Day 180

DAY 181- My dream finally comes true. My son got his driver license earlier this year. And now I trust him enough to drive me to work.

Day 181

DAY 182- One of my bigger purchased last week- Erin Condren Life Planner 2015/2016. Suddenly I got suck into this planner and the obsession with it really consume me. I can't think of anything else.

Day 182

DAY 183- Thursday morning, just me, myself and my digital planner.

Day 183

DAY 184- I've finished reading Finder's Keeper by Stephen King. I am official a fan of this series.

Day 184

DAY 185- Outing with my daughter is always fun. Selfie is a must when we get together.

Day 185

DAY 186- My quest for a new glasses continues. Finding the right one for my face was not easy.

Day 186

These are my life in photos for week twenty seven for 2015  . So many things happened and if I don't take the time to document them I might miss a lot. I still believe when you took the time to document the every day and the good things that happened in your life, you will be more grateful. Just saying.

Do you join Project 365 this year?
