5 things // Create a healthy life style

This month I choose CREATE as my one little word of 2015. When I choose that word I have no clue how I am going to approach 2015 with CREATE in mind. I know that this word is going to challenge me beyond my imagination.

I read 5 ideas to Create an amazing 2015 and it totally inspired me. I like the idea of creating habits instead of making goals or resolutions. This got me thinking about my not so healthy life style that cause me not to loose weight in the last three month. I tried so many things but so far those things have not become my habit. I still feel like working out is a chore, eating healthy is impossible and thinking about it all the time is not good for my sanity.

One of the thing I want to CREATE this year is to create a healthy life style that I can maintain.

January habits 1: Exercise for at least 30 minutes every evening

 - Tools to motivate: new workout shoes and socks
 - make an appointment with myself and stick to it

January habits 2: Drink water: 4 x 1.5ml bottles of water per day

 - In order to motivate myself to do so I bought one new 1.5ml water bottle

January habits 3. Make a workout log / journal on a weekly basis

 - I love documenting my life, making a wordy dairy don't work for me (I tried to do this last year). Jotting things down and cross things off from my list is really more my thing. So I made this workout log for me to scribble my progress

January habits 4. Eat dinner before 8:00 pm at least 5 days a week

  - This is the kind of habit which I really like to implement. It is not an easy thing to maintain just because work always get in the way. This year I am going to try my hardest to get out of the office at 5:30pm daily.

January habits 5. Sleep no later than 12:00 pm on week days

  - getting a good night sleep / rest is really important especially at my age. So having a night time routine is really important. I am going to make it my mission to create a healthy sleeping habit and a more calm and stress free night time routine.

As one of my action plan for this month is to make a workout journal or workout log to document all the things that I do. So I made this printable weekly workout log that you can add to your 2015 daily planner.

Since this year I am planning to go digital with my daily planner, I also made a pdf format to add to my 2015 Daily Planner on my GoodNotes (app on my iPad). I am so loving this youtube tutorial on how to setup my digital daily planner. I am so inspired. Somehow this feels right.

You can download free the pdf format here or if you prefer a jpg format download it here.

If you are interested to see how my digital day planner look like just leave me a comment. If you love a blog post like this, subscribe, tweet, share on google+ or follow this blog.

Hope you are inspired to be more active and more involve in maintaining a healthy life style.

#thursday3 [08.01.2015]

One week has gone by in 2015. How time flies when you are not paying attention. Time is one of Allah's creature. It can be long and it can be short. It's all depends with what you do with your time. If it is not planned well, 24 hours may not be enough but when the time is properly planned and utilise you will feel that 24 hours is enough.

#1. I already started reading Th Forgotten by David Baldacci. I am so totally in love with John Puller character. I am such a sucker for a detective and action story
#2. It looks like it started to rain daily again. The weather is not good for outdoor activities and I am so worried that the water level will rise again.
#3. I have finally choose my One Little Word for 2015. It's Create. I hope that I will have so much fun with this word.

Think about it this way…If you take one picture and write down three facts each week — at the end of the year you’ll have more than 50 photos of yourself and 150 facts about what life has been like. It would make such an epic All About Me book — and most of the work is already done."
Follow along each week on instagram using the hashtag #thursday3 dan tagged me @hanizeyecandy. I want to see your selfie and read about you

Something new for a new year

It has been such a long time since the last time I made a scrapbook layout using my computer. Usually I just used Project Life App on my phone to make my project life layouts. December was not a good month for me to sit down and just create some layouts. I was always rushing out the door to be some where else.

Hope this year will be a great year for scrapbooking and memory keeping. I am so loving the process of making my memories tangible. It give me great joy to be able to turn my memories into something more real that I can touch.

One Little Word 2015: Create

In 2014 I choose Write as my One Little Word and I participate in Ali Edward's year long workshop. It was such an amazing experience for me at least on the first eight months. As the year progress I really try to do the assignments and continue writing but some how life gets in the way. Twenty fourteen was definitely a tough year for me, and putting all those feelings and thoughts on paper really help me deal.

I have not given any thoughts about what my word in going to be for this year, given that I had such a super busy end of the year things that really occupied my emotions and my time. A week ago, I read Ali's Blog about her workshop and her One Little Word for 2015 (which is Give), that I realise that I have not given any thoughts about 2015 One Little Word. I still have no idea what I want to achieve this year. Then I read all the comments from Ali's readers what word they choose for 2015. Then one word hit a chord and stuck in my head for a few days. The word is create.

I really need an action word. A word I can do something about. Bring something into existence seems appealing to me. I am so sick and tired of just waiting for things to happened. I need to make things happened.

So this year [2015] One Little Word is create. My goal is create a life that suits my personality and more meaningful.

So this year I want to

Create a healthy lifestyle that I can maintain
I have been struggling with maintaining a healthy lifestyle and workout schedule that fit me and my work schedule. So keeping a consistence schedule has been a challenge. Staying fit in 2015 is one of the goal I want to achieve this year so creating a healthy lifestyle that I can maintain is really important to me.

Create an organisation system that works for me
I am not an organised person but keeping things organised is very important to me and really helps me work/function better as a mother, a worker and a professional. With all the tools out there I intend to create an organisation system that works for me.

Create a Project Life Workflow that fits my style
I fall in love with project life last year. I think Project Life is a simplify version of Scrapbooking. I have a beautiful system set up for Digital Project Life in 2014, but my hardcopy version of Project Life was not a success. So this year I want to create a simple workflow that I can work with and tackle one or two back date projects a year to convert into project life system.

Create blog content that are meaningful
I  realised that my blog content is mostly the same theme every week. So I am going to make it my mission to be more creative and to create more sharable blog content this year. I still have no idea what my year will look like but I know that I want to create more sharable and meaningful content.

Create a comfy and beautiful home that the whole family can enjoy
Making my home looks like Martha's Stewart home is an impossible goal. So I am not going to do that. I just have to remember that less is more. Getting rid of the clutter is the first step for me to take to create a more comfy and beautiful home. I am going to tackle my home not one room at a time but one area at a time. It's more manageable for me.

On top of my head I think the tools I might need for this year

  • ipad - [Day One App, GoodNotes 4, Calendar 5 and Evernote]
  • washi tapes (lots of them)
  • running shoes and socks
  • pinterest board inspiration
  • journal ( I am going to continue keeping a hardcopy journal)
  • an upbeat music to keep me motivated
  • dropbox (ooo that's reminds me to archive 2014 files and create 2015 folders
  • A Notebook / Project Life mini album to document my journey
  • colorful pens / sharpies
  • day planner for 2015 [digital and hard copy]
  • iphone camera or sony digital camera
  • printer
I am so ready to CREATE
