Saturday and all things that comes with it

When Saturday comes, the best thing to do is spend it with your family and some light shopping. This Saturday the destination is Alamanda Shopping Mall. This place has become more and more place for high income family to shop. The price here can be categorise as expensive. Is it just me or is it the price of stuffs everywhere in Malaysia is getting ridiculously high.

The cheapest thing to do here is to take photos and enjoy window shopping.

I have to pay almost RM10 for the service tax and government tax. Wow! This is November, 2014. It is definitely interesting to see what the price will be in a year.

#thursday3 [13.11.2014]

In a blink of an eye I am already in the middle of the night on Thursday and in less than one hour it will be Friday. What a week! Fill with my surprising turn, some are good and some are not. I am not sure what my life would be like one year from now but as of today November 13, 2014, I am still blogging.

#1. I am still waiting for my iPhone 6 to arrive. I have still not receive any news from Maxis regarding the restock of the iPhone 6. Hemmmm

#2. I am still reading and listening to Cop Town book by Karin Slaughter. I am really enjoying reading the book. Being a woman with a career  in 1970s was not easy. Women have to fight for the right and equal treatment at work.

#3. My youngest son is not feeling good today. He has a fever and runny nose. I have to take him to see a doctor. Get well soon my darling.

Think about it this way…If you take one picture and write down three facts each week — at the end of the year you’ll have more than 50 photos of yourself and 150 facts about what life has been like. It would make such an epic All About Me book — and most of the work is already done."

Follow along each week using the hashtag #thursday3 dan tagged me @hanizeyecandy. I want to see your selfie and read about you

VIDEO: Hanif and Numbers

Anyway thanks for watching.

Project 365 101: Your Basic Supplies

I got a lot of questions about Project 365 in the last few months. I have been doing this project in a really long time that sometimes I forgot that some of my new readers might not know what this project is all about.

Project 365

Project 365 or 365 Project is a popular project among photographers (this project was started by Taylor Mcknight way back in 2004) and got picked up by scrapbooker and life documenter all over the world. In a nutshell is to take a photo a day for a year, so that is basically 365 photos in a year taken daily. Some people take photos of themselves, objects, daily meals or just some random photos of every day life. The theme is basically up to you. What memories you would like to capture.

I have been doing these project from 2010, 2011, 2012 and now 2014, some of them were successful and some of them were not. No matter what, at the end of the year, I was usually glad that I did this project.

I am here today to share my lists of basic supplies that you need if you want to jump into 365 Project either right now or in 2015.

Let's go!

#1. Have a camera with you all the time. Any camera will do.

When doing this type of project, taking a really amazing photos is not the goal. At least for me, the goal is to capture my daily life in photo. So having a camera with me all the time is a must because you never know when the opportunity in for you to capture them.
So for me the best camera at the moment is my iPhone because I have the phone with me all the time.

#2. Have a place to upload your photos.

After you have taken a photo or photos for the day, the key is to upload them somewhere else other than your phone or SD cards. I used Dropbox to upload my photos of the day because . I usually do some light editing, add the day or the date before I upload to my Dropbox

#3. Do something with the photos

The idea of capturing the photos is for you share them with your friends and family. Blog about them is one of the way that you can share and document your memory. Some people share them on flickr or instagram or tumblr.

#4. A reminder to alert you when to take photos

If you are not in the habit of taking photos daily, it can be hard to maintain the habit. So having some kind of reminder either from using an app or reminder alert from your photo it really helps to at least make you stop, take a deep breath and capture anything around you.

[December 29, 2012]

If you are a scrapbooker or if you want to do something creative with your photos, you can always:

- print the photos out and put it in your Project Life album
- make a scrapbook page about your photo
- make a photo collage by month
- use the photo for you daily journal
- make a photo book for a year

Project 365 is also one of many ways to capture your memories and at the same time you have a reason to get your photos out of your phone. Give this project a chance, who knows you might enjoy them!
Happy Snapping!!

A love affair with iPhone

Today when I saw my old post about my love affair with Mr X back in 2010 it really brings back a lot of beautiful memories. I remembered back in those days I was really a Sony fan and I even fell in love with all of Sony Ericsson phones. I never even looked at iPhone during those time. I never even really paid that much attention.

And then suddenly in 2011, I have been bitten by the iPhone bug just because I watched too much episodes of Criminal Minds. That TV shows really showed me how cool it was to use an iPhone. Ever since that day I have never looked back. I never even missed Sony or Android. With iPhone, I feel at home.

a love affair with iphone

I know that in three years Android has evolved in so many ways and now Samsung has taken the lead in Android world with many kinds of smart phones - small, big and bigger. I've watched a few youtube videos reviewing those devices which looks great and far more advance compare to some features in iPhone but until now I have not switched back to Android. I wanted to try Sony Xperia Z series but when I hold the phone in my hand it doesn't feels right.

What I wish iPhone could do?
- easily add ringtones from my music library
- copy files or musics directly to the phone using usb cable
- add more storage for music and photos

I think that basically was a few things that I've missed from my Android days. After I get used to the simplicity of an iPhone, finding a work around to those small issues wasn't a big deal to me. iPhone is not a perfect phone but it is just perfect for me and perfect for my lifestyle. I have never stick to a phone brand this long. (Believe me I've used many in the past - Acer, Nokia, Samsung, HTC, Sony Ericsson, Sony Xperia). It is safe to say that I am in love, so in love that no matter what phone they throw in the market - be it Oppo, Samsung Note 4, Samsung Galaxy S5, Lenovo - I just can't bring myself to be unfaithful. Being faithful has become my thing - it can be my flaw and it also can be my strength.

What I used iPhone for?
[Believe me when I tell you that I only used 10% of my iPhone for phone calls. It turns out  that I don't have that many people to call on a daily basis]

- taking photos
- to do lists
- planner
- alarm clock
- scanner
- ebook reader
- music player
- mobile blogging on the go
- taking simple notes on the go
- texting my friends and kids
- watching youtube videos
- document my life on DayOne app
- photo editing
- keeping tab with social media like Facebook, instagram, twitter and Pinterest
- never get lost again with Waze

Most Android fans just can't understand why iPhone users are so faithful with the product. We just love simplicity, familiarity and it feels comfortable in our hands. iPhone has become a part of my life for over three years now. Do I wish for something more and out of this world? Of course I do but to improve on something that is perfect is really really hard. Maybe if Steve Job is still alive iPhone might look different but since that is not possible, I think what Steve Job has left behind is still relevant.

I might not be jumping up and down when they announced iPhone 6 back in September but after getting used to the new design and change of saiz, I still want to own the phone.  I still have not get my pre-order phone yet but I am willing to wait for the new stock to arrive. Hopefully soon.

So in the end it all comes to what works for you and your lifestyle. As long as the device works for you than just be happy with it. The battle between Android and iOS/Apple need to stop. The hearts want what it wants, in the end love conquer all.  As of today, November 11, 2014 - I am still in love with the iPhone ...

Project Life [Week 45]

Another great week and great project life experience. As always when November comes, things started to pick up the pace and suddenly I am not working normally. Things are expected to be more out of the office experience. Thank you Allah for all of the blessing. And I am still grateful with Project Life app. Now there are so many beautiful kits added in the app which makes me cringe and hold finger from order them all at once. Oh boy!

I am not an affiliate, I am just a fan who really enjoy Project Life app

Project 365 [ Week 45 ]

Week 45 was such an interesting week. The hours and days move in a high speed pace. I wanted to breath and taking the time to feel the pain but I just didn't have the time to do so. In a way it is good because I sick of feeling helpless, stupid and heartbroken all the time. Anyway I try to force myself to be in the present, be happy and not sweat on the small stuff.

day 307 - Another brainstorming session and this time it was at Mampu Cyberjaya. Today I was constantly moving, attending one event after another non stop until 7:00pm at night.
day 307

day 308 - I started listening to Cop town audiobook. Love what I heard so far. I need to find the ebook so that I can better understand the words and get more close to the words.
day 308

day 309 - Wednesday comes and goes. I was excited to go to work today. I am able to put on this blouse with feeling so tight in the arm.
day 309

day 310 - Meet these two ladies for lunch at Alamanda. They are both self employed. Independent from all the hassle of working for others. I really admire them.
day 310

day 311 - This little guy woke up early in the morning. He kept following me every where I go even though I assured him that I will not left him.
day 311

day 312 - Happy 12th Birthday to my daughter. So happy to see her grow up to be such a beautiful and creative girl.
day 312

day 313 - Sunday morning, learning to read and understand words from youtube channel.
day 313

These are my life in photos for week forty five.  So many things happened and if I don't take the time to document them I might miss a lot. I still believe when you took the time to document the every day and the good things that happened in your life, you will be more grateful. Just saying.

Do you join Project 365 this year?
If you do linked up in the comment, I would love to
see your work and a glimpse of your life in 2014
