the 9th Girl and Mean Streak Book Review

Untitled

The 9th Girl by Tami Hoag

What is this book about?
"On a frigid New Year’s Eve in Minneapolis, a young woman is found brutally murdered—the ninth so far this year in a string of grisly slayings. Homicide detectives Sam Kovac and Nikki Liska fear that it’s the work of a serial killer they call Doc Holiday, a transient who has brought his gruesome game to a new and more terrifying level. But as Kovac and Liska uncover the truth, they find that the monsters in the ninth girl’s life may live closer to home. And even as another young woman disappears, they have to ask the question: Which is the greater evil—the devil you know or the devil you don’t?" excerpt from amazon.com

What do I think about the book?
- This book is definitely one of those books that discuss really issue and something that I can relate with
- this is my first book by Tami Hoag. I think after reading this book I will definitely become one of her fans
- My only problem with the book was, the use of too many nicknames. It took me awhile to realise that Nikki, Liska and Tink is the same person.
- The book definitely deal with all the things that I am worry about - bullying, social media, depression and all things related to teenage rebellion
- This book definitely kept me on edge and I was totally surprise with the identity of the killer. Totally unexpected.

I highly recommend this book to anybody who loves detective story and action pack storyline

------------------------------------------------

Mean Streak by Sandra Brown

What is this book about?
Dr. Emory Charbonneau, a pediatrician and marathon runner, disappears on a mountain road in North Carolina. By the time her husband Jeff, miffed over a recent argument, reports her missing, the trail has grown cold. Literally. Fog and ice encapsulate the mountainous wilderness and paralyze the search for her.

While police suspect Jeff of "instant divorce," Emory, suffering from an unexplained head injury, regains consciousness and finds herself the captive of a man whose violent past is so dark that he won't even tell her his name. She's determined to escape him, and willing to take any risks necessary to survive.

Unexpectedly, however, the two have a dangerous encounter with people who adhere to a code of justice all their own. At the center of the dispute is a desperate young woman whom Emory can't turn her back on, even if it means breaking the law. Wrong becomes right at the hands of the man who strikes fear, but also sparks passion

What do I think about the book?
- I've always love Sandra Brown book.
- It has romance, mystery and action all in one book
- the writing style is easy to follow and the storyline is beautifully told
- the are a few parts that doesn't make sense to me like how a marathon runner got hit by a rock while running and why would FBI agent search for a man that is not a criminal but a hero? Hemmm ..
- Other than that I totally enjoy the book, fun and entertaining

Read the book if you love Sandra Brown and love to read fun and entertaining story

#thursday3 [18.09.2014]

I had such a fun week just because I was at home more than I was at work. Life is always so much fun when you don't have to worry about punching in and punching out.

HERE ARE MY PHOTO AND FACTS FOR THE WEEK

#thursday3 18092014

#1. I have finished reading the 9th Girl by Tami Hoag in less than a week. It's a record for me.

#2. I watched The Maze Runner movie last Saturday and I love the movie. It makes me want to read the book. Such a weird world. Not sure if I can full grapes that world without seeing it first on the big screen.

#3. Contemplating between reading the Kill Order and the Silkworm. Not sure which book to read first. At the moment I'm already at Chapter 5 of the Kill Order.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Think about it this way…If you take one picture and write down three facts each week — at the end of the year you’ll have more than 50 photos of yourself and 150 facts about what life has been like. It would make such an epic All About Me book — and most of the work is already done."
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Follow along each week using the hashtag #thursday3 dan tagged me @hanizeyecandy. I want to see your selfie and read about you

#30lists Wrap Up Part 2

Today is the part two of 30 days of lists wrap up. In a blink of an eye we are already in the second week going on to third week of September. Things are beginning to move a little bit faster. I am happier to continue making a weekly random lists. Somehow taking a random snip of my life is really fun and really capture what life is like right this moment.

random-title

  • I finished reading the 9th Girl by Tami Hoag in less than a week. I am so happy about that.
  • I can't believe that UPSR candidates have to seat again English papers and Science paper at the end of the month. Apparently somebody leak the questions.
  • Today is Malaysia day- the day Sabah and Sarawak join Malaysia. It's a public holiday since last year.
  • I watched the Maze Runner last Sunday. I love it. Can't wait to read the book.
  • New Perodua  Axia launched a few days ago. Have not see the car up and personal. Not sure if its' better.
  • I was a little bit disappointed with Apple September 09th announcement. The new iPhone doesn't really bring anything spectacular to the table except a bigger screen size. I might change, I might not. I haven't decided yet.
  • I am watching the last five episodes of Leverage season 5. I can't believe I've missed those episodes.
  • I started reading The Kill Order and the Silkworm
  • I am half way through reading Mean Streak. Hoping to finished it this week.

Easy journaling for my Project Life page. Can't wait to turn this into a journaling card.

The Maze Runner , the Movie and the Quotes

I haven't get a chance to read the Maze Runner series yet. I am the kind of person who doesn't really care if I've read the book or not in order for me to watch a movie. It doesn't really matter because I enjoyed reading and watching the movie in no particular order.
I am so glad that last Sunday I went and watched this movie with my kid. I think this is the kind of story that I have to watch first and then read. This movie makes me want to read the whole series. I just can't wait to see what happened to Thomas and who is Thomas?

What do I think about the movie?

1. Go and watch them now. You will not regret it.
2. It has the Hunger Game theme but the memories wipes is a little bit scary. Not knowing who you are and where you came from is scary
3. My only reason to watch this movie is because of Dylan O'Brian.
4. The Maze was a little bit scary for me. A lot of things could go wrong in the Maze. I also like MinHo character. I think he is the true Maze Runner.
5. I am just curious to what happened withe the rest of the Glade that stay behind?

3 of my favourite Quotes from the movie

#1. "Just follow me and run like your life depends on it. Because it does."

#2. " Things are changing. There's no denying it"

#3. If you ain't scared you ain't human

Project 365 [ Week 37]

All I can say is week thirty seven was a crazy crazy crazy week. It was suppose to be the week for my daughter to take her UPSR exam and be done with it. Then the unthinkable happened, some not so responsible people leak the exams. All the UPSR candidates have to take another exam on the 30th. Seriously?
Anyway life must go on and so does my 365 Project for 2014.

HERE IS MY WEEK IN PHOTOS

day 251I finished reading Insurgent today. Such an interesting book. So much going on and so many new characters introduce. Tris and Four fought a lot in this book.Hemmm

------------------------------------------------------------------
These are my life in photos for week thirty seven.  So many things happened and if I don't take the time to document them I might miss a lot. I still believe when you took the time to document the every day and the good things that happened in your life, you will be more grateful. Just saying.

Do you join Project 365 this year?
If you do linked up in the comment, I would love to
see your work and a glimpse of your life in 2014
