Photo Prompt #21 : What you wore

Challenge #21: What you wore

It's Saturday today. Usually during weekend I am more a casual person with T-shir and jeans. Since today we are hosting iftar for my son and his friends, I wore long black dress with floral pink hijab. I usually do not ware makeup at home but today I decided to practice a new look with my new MAC cosmetic. I still have a lot to learn.

June and July Book Haul

I have never haul this much books in a really really  long time. Some how along the way I have lost the passion to read and buy books. Now that I have rediscover the passion for reading again, life is getting pretty interesting. Wow! Talking about so many choices out there to choose from.

Over the years I can see that my reading material changes with the things that happened in my life at that moment like parenting books when I become a parent, pregnancy book when I was pregnant, workout books when I was obsess with loosing weight, management books when I first became a manager and so forth.

I've tried my very best to be in the loop with new books and new hype. I also got suck into the world of Twilight and all the chick lit out there. But my most favorite genre is always thriller/crime.

When I discovered booktuber sometime in May, I am totally amaze by how much books are out there, stories waiting for me to discover and experience. I am not really into dystopian thing but I will read the one with great storyline or if I've watched the movie first. Make believe world is kinda hard for me to imagine.

Anyway in June and July I went for a shopping spree and I have bought about 24 books all together and in no particular order, here they are..

1. NYPD RED 2 by James Patterson

Photo prompt #20: Macro

Challenge #20: Macro

My attempt at taking macro photos using my macro lens. I haven't use this lens in a really long time. This is a photo of my new pink watch. I love this type of pink, not too light and not too hot.

Note: I just got to mention this. Today we received a horrible news about #MH71. It feel surreal that a commercial flight got shoot down. There's not survivor, I think. Al fatihah to all the Muslims in the flight.

Ignite Me : Book Review

Ignite Me (Shatter Me) by Tahereh Mafi

day 194

What this book is about?
"The heart-stopping conclusion to the New York Times bestselling Shatter Me series, which Ransom Riggs, bestselling author of Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, called “a thrilling, high-stakes saga of self-discovery and forbidden love.”
With Omega Point destroyed, Juliette doesn’t know if the rebels, her friends, or even Adam are alive. But that won’t keep her from trying to take down The Reestablishment once and for all. Now she must rely on Warner, the handsome commander of Sector 45. The one person she never thought she could trust. The same person who saved her life. He promises to help Juliette master her powers and save their dying world . . . but that’s not all he wants with her.
The Shatter Me series is perfect for fans who crave action-packed young adult novels with tantalizing romance like Divergent by Veronica Roth, The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, and Legend by Marie Lu. Tahereh Mafi has created a captivating and original story that combines the best of dystopian and paranormal, and was praised by Publishers Weekly as “a gripping read from an author who’s not afraid to take risks.” Now this final book brings the series to a shocking and satisfying end." excerpt from

What I like about the book?

- the book cover is the first thing that drawn me to the book. It's so amazingly beautiful.
- this is my first dystopian series I have ever read. It feels weird at first but once I got into the story I find it very entertaining.
- I like Ignite Me the best just because I think Juliette grew up so much in this book. I like her positivity and her strength.
- Juliette and Adam relationship reminded me a lot  about my own relationship
- Quotes like these make me love reading the book. It's beautifully written.

“For so many years I lived in constant terror of myself. Doubt had married my fear and moved into my mind, where it built castles and ruled kingdoms and reigned over me, bowing my will to its whispers until I was little more than an acquiescing peon, too terrified to disobey, too terrified to disagree.
I had been shackled, a prisoner in my own mind”

“Adam looks at me, surprised by my reaction.
“It’s not like I want this,” he says. “But I can’t see how we could possibly fight back without getting ourselves killed. I’m trying to be practical.” He runs an agitated hand through his hair. “I took a chance,” he says, lowering his voice. “I tried to fight back, and it got us all massacred. I shouldn’t even be alive right now. But for some crazy reason, I am, and so is James, and God, Juliette, so are you”
This statement made me hate Adam. Being with someone that is so negative about life really can wear you down.

- and the part that I like the most.....
“I take a tight breath. Focus on the brightest star in the sky. “I like the way I feel about myself when I’m with him,” I say quietly. “Warner thinks I’m strong and smart and capable and he actually values my opinion. He makes me feel like his equal—like I can accomplish just as much as he can, and more. And if I do something incredible, he’s not even surprised. He expects it. He doesn’t treat me like I’m some fragile little girl who needs to be protected all the time”
I really like this part. Wish I could find someone who can make me feel this way. It's such a wonderful and strong feeling to have.

- I really recommend this book if you love young adult and dystopian type of book.

#thursday3 [17.07.2014]

I am praying and hoping that this week will fly faster than normal. I just didn't feel like going to work. I am so uninspired and unmotivated. Urghh!! I need to find back my passion for work. I am so looking forward to any new technology that can make me excited and thankful to be in computer business.

So far I feel like I'm in static mode. Nothing from Apple, nothing from Sony, nothing from Microsoft...(nothing new at least). I think we are waiting for the next Steve Job, someone that is crazy enough to think outside the box. Create a market when people don't even know they need the product. Still waiting.....

#1. I am currently doing Mike Donavanik's Extreme Burn: RIPPED workout. It's 30 minutes and it really make me sweat. I am taking a break from T25 this week.

#2. Currently reading NYPD Red 2 by James Patterson and Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver

#3. I have been reading a lot this week compare to writing. I think I've found one word that fit perfectly with write. In order for me to think and write I do need to read a lot. It's like a pair that goes hand in hand.

Think about it this way…If you take one picture and write down three facts each week — at the end of the year you’ll have more than 50 photos of yourself and 150 facts about what life has been like. It would make such an epic All About Me book — and most of the work is already done."

Follow along each week using the hashtag #thursday3 dan tagged me @hanizeyecandy. I want to see your selfie and read about you

Photo prompt #18 : In your hand

Challenge #18: In your hand

Finally I bought myself Jotscript Evernote edition fine point stylus. I found this stylus at Machine, Midvalley. I am so loving how good it feels like writing with this stylus. It's a bit pricy compare to Jotscript Pro. I have been holding this stylus all the time during work. Love love this.

5 useful apps if you love to read

I have rediscovered my passion for reading since May this year. I realise that I need to read more if I have my book with me all the time. And since I carry my phone and my iPad everywhere I go that means I have my book with me all the time.

Today I would love to share a few useful apps that I enjoy dearly and have helped me embrace my passion for reading.

5 useful apps if you love to read

#1. iBook

I really really enjoy reading with iBook. I love that I can have a feeling of flipping through pages. The fact that you can adjust the colour, the brightness and the font is what makes me love my iBook even more. Since I am still learning to improve my English and enriched my vocabulary, it's very useful to me that I can immediately lookup any unfamiliar words right there inside iBook.

#2. Audible

I have never realised how much fun it was listening to a book until I discovered audible earlier this year. At first I was a little bit worried that I can't follow the story by listening to it but I am glad that I was wrong. I totally can understand to story and follow along. It makes reading super duper fun! And what makes it even great is the content from my audible is totally sync with all my devices, including the bookmarks.

#3. Gplayer

It seems impossible for me to purchased every single audiobook on audible. So for some I've downloaded from the internet and I need a player to listen to. I am glad that Gplayer can open the audio files and play them. It's not as amazing as audible but it fit the purpose. I can listen to it during my long commute to work and back from work and it has bookmark features. Oh by the way Gplayer is also a video / avi player.

#4. Goodreads

Everybody who loves to read use Goodreads. It's an online community for people who loves books and loves to read. It's like Facebook for readers. A lot of book recommendations and ratings from readers all over the world. You can also follow your fellow readers and see what they are reading and what books they recommend. Goodreads also recommend books to you. I haven't hang out as much as I would have like but I think author also hang out there too.

#5. Pocket

If you browse internet and loves to read blogs and interesting websites and you don't want to loose them, you can use Pocket to keep all of the interesting reads you find in one place. Pocket lets you save great content wherever you find it. After you’re done reading, send the articles and videos you love to another friend’s Pocket, or share to Facebook, Twitter, Evernote, or Email. Pocket is also available on iPhone, iPad and computer, that means you'll have all your interesting content across your devices and it's available to you any time any where. It's so cool.

Do you read books on your mobile devices?
If you do , what other apps do you recommend?

Challenge #17: Around your home

Since today is a public holiday, we spend most of the day at home, enjoying books, ebooks, audible and iPad mini. I am totally loving my lazy days. So nice to be around my kids. Sometimes I just wonder if I have been working for too long. Maybe I needed a long long break from my norm. Hemmmm....

Project Life Photo book on sale (56% off)

Ever since I started doing Digital Project Life 2014 in January, it was always my intention to print them out on photo book. When I saw that Photobook Malaysia is having a July sale (56% to be exact) and I already reached half of the year. So without wasting any time,  I decided to to make a photo book volume 1. All of the twenty seven weeks page layouts took me about 56 pages.

Since I have already made the project life pages, designing a photo book with the photo book designer was a breeze. It took me less than one hour to arrange all my pages and make a cover photo.

Project-Life Cover Vol1I order one 11 x 11 inch photo book , image wrapped hardcover . This specification is one of my favorite. It fits perfectly on my bookshelf. The price was RM420 but I only paid RM188 plus shipping. I hope I will receive the photo book before my Eid holiday. Can’t wait!

Note: Germany win World Cup 2014 on South America soil. I think it’s 1 – 0. Agentina win second place. I am not into football or anything but I just have to mention it.

While everybody is watching the final game, our brothers and sisters at Gaza are having a horrifying reality. Blood everywhere and people are dying. i just don’t get war. Why people fight and why we have to kill one another? Aren’t we civilize enough to sit down and talk about our differences? It’s so weird.

And locally people are dying too. Almost every day there are people died unnecessarily – father killed his son about the stupidest thing, husband killed his one week bride out of jealously, kid fall down the stairs at shopping mall and died.. and many more. What is happening to this world???

Photo Prompt #15: Kid

Challenge #15 : Kid

He is just being a kid. Playing with his toy. I caught him sitting on my chair and playing with his toy. It's already 5pm and we are feeling very tired due to the heat outside. For him, it's just another day with mom and his beloved siblings. Enjoying himself immensely.

Project 365 [Week twenty eight]

Another crazy and chaotic week done. I am so looking forward to week. I just felt so unmotivated and uninspired related to work. I desperately want for things to change, I desperately dream of having one IT Department that will handle all government IT needs. I just need things to be different all over. The world is changing but somehow the rules doesn't change with it. Anyway that is a whole different discussion for different time.
Regardless of how uninspired I was, I did managed to capture a few photos daily for my Project 365 for 2014.

day 188 - I took this photo for my #ramadandaily challenge. It was to take photo of 5 things. I group together 5 of my favourite things this month and it include my new SD card connector for iPad.

day 188

day 189 - Second day of the week and we are gather together discussing about upcoming monthly assembly and the gimmick that we want to do to launch our new portal design.

day 189

day 190 - My most important tools that I bring with me to meetings or discussions. I like having a hardcopy notebook to write down or even doodling on. It's just a great way to express myself creatively.

day 190

day 191 - Fourth day, meeting again discussing about our upcoming monthly assembly. The less than two hours event took weeks of planning and discussing. Hemmm

day 191

day 192 - I totally love Friday. I think I've lost a significant amount of weight and I can wear this orange Shirt loosely.
day 192

day 193 - My little boy playing and posing for me at the same time. I am having a hard time making or rather asking him to look at the camera.

day 193

day 194 - Ahh... Ignite Me by Tahereh Mafi, the third book of the series which I am currently reading. I wish they made a movie out of this book. I love all things with super power and young love.
day 194

These are my life in photos for week twenty eight.  So many things happened and if I don't take the time to document them I might miss a lot. I still believe when you took the time to document the every day and the good things that happened in your life, you will be more grateful. Just saying.

Do you join Project 365 this year?
If you do linked up in the comment, I would love to
see your work and a glimpse of your life in 2014
