Photo Prompt #7: tasty

Challenge #7: Tasty

Untitled

I am not really obsess with food even though it's Ramadan. What I am obsess at the moment is reading novels especially young adult novel with dystopian theme. Currently I am obsess with reading Unravel Me by Tahereh Mafi. It is one tasty and delicious book. I can see why most girls are obsess with the book

Project Life [Week twenty six]

I had such a busy week. I just got a chance to sit down and make my Project Life Page for week 26.

I am still maintaining the same look and feel. I changed a little bit but overall I am a bit busy to hunt for something new. Keeping it real and keeping it simple.

day#06

Oh boy! It's so hot today. I took the day off to go to my kids school. It's an open day to discuss with the teacher about your kids progress. And it's also the day where we were explain about the new evaluation system - PT3. It's totally new system and I kinda like it.
And this is what I look like on the sixth day of Ramadan.

Photo Prompt #5: Ramadan is for

Challenge #5 : Ramadan is for

Untitled

Ramadan is for .. forgiveness. I realised that relationship with people is complicated. Anything that you do can be misinterpret. Some people can be hurt by the simplest thing. So during this special month it is a good idea or a good habit to forgive people regardless they apologise or not. Forgiveness is more for you and your soul. It's not for other people.

#thursday3 [03.07.2104]

Ramadan is here and life starting to feel a little bit hectic and moving way too fast. It felt like only yesterday I was at home celebrating the first of Ramadan and today it's the fifth day. Going to work isn't the best thing right now just because the traffic is so bad. It's so weird, where do all these cars come from?

HERE IS MY PHOTO AND FACTS FOR THE WEEK

Untitled

#1. Today is the fifth day of Ramadan. I am liking this month so far.

#2. Currently still reading The Hit by David Baldacci and started reading Shatter Me by Tahere Mafi

#3. Started to download Summer TV shows like Teen Wolf, Under the Dome, Pretty Little Liars, True Blood. Haven't watch any of them.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Think about it this way…If you take one picture and write down three facts each week — at the end of the year you’ll have more than 50 photos of yourself and 150 facts about what life has been like. It would make such an epic All About Me book — and most of the work is already done."

Follow along each week using the hashtag #thursday3 dan tagged me @hanizeyecandy. I want to see your selfie and read about you

Photo Prompt #4: Purple

Challenge #4 : Purple

Untitled
Today I purposely wear purple to work. I just love how color can make your life happier and brighter. I am loving my Ramadan so far even though the traffic to work and back is so much worst than normal. My secret weapon is either listen to Quran reciter or listen to audible. Currently I am listening to the Hit by David Baldacci.

8 useful apps for Ramadan [ipad version]

Ramadan is here, greeting us with a little bit of El Nino heat and very dry temperature. I am super duper excited to meet Ramadan because no more distraction of food during the day. I can get a lot of things done during the day without any distractions.

Today I would love to share a few apps that I find useful to help me focus, plan and organised my life during the month of Ramadan

8 useful apps for Ramadan

8apps-ramadan

#1. iQuran HD
This is my go to iQuran HD app on my ipad since the begining. I think this is one of the first app I've purchased when I first got my ipad two years ago. If I'm not mistaken  iQuran app is only available on ipad. I used this app daily especially during the month of Ramadan. If I don't have the time to Tadarus with others, I used the downloadable reciter from iQuran as a Tadarus partner. It's available to me 24/7. And I also love the design.

#2. Alarm clock
You need a good and reliable alarm clock this month so that you will not miss your Sahur, which is way early in the morning (pre-dawn period). I really need a good and beautiful alarm clock that comes with annoying sound to wake me up.

#3. Muslim Pro
I just discovered Muslim Pro app last Sunday and I am totally loving it. It is definitely one of must have app during Ramadan. Some of the cool features I am loving are:
-It has a timetable for Ramadan which you can screen capture or print
  - It can detect the local pray time almost accurately. I just need to adjust Maghreb time by +2minutes
  - It also has a build in Quran in the app. I haven't used the build in Quran yet because I recite my Quran verses from iQuran app.
  - It can search for a near Mosques or for halal food near you
  - It has asma al-husna build in the app which you can use
  - and the cool thing is it has a greeting cards build in.

#4. iPeriod [Useful for woman]
If you have been using iPeriod tracker app for awhile then it is going to be super duper useful during Ramadan. This app can calculate your estimate next period due date so you can plan ahead

#5. DayOne app
I have mention a lot about DayOne app and I still think it's a useful app especially during this holy month where you can use it to capture things that happened in Ramadan, your thoughts, your feelings and your life in general on the go. It can also be use to capture the food that you are eating during this month as a way to take stock of what you have been eating.

#6. Evernote
Evernote is also another app that I have been raving about since two years ago. It's a versatile note taking apps that sync with all your devices. You can use this app to jot down your to do lists and goals you want to achieve this month. You can write down your groceries lists in here and you can also plan your blog content right in your Evernote.
It's great place for you to plan and schedule your life a head of time because when Ramadan comes, things will move so much quicker just because there are so many things you have to do and can do only during Ramadan.

#7. iBook
If you are taking a break from reciting Quran, you can use iBook to catch up on your reading. I have lots of ebook on my shelf waiting to be read. I usually limit my online surfing during this month. I like to get unplugged as much as possible so that I don't get distracted. iBook is the best way to read book and not get connected

#8. Quran Majeed
Another Quran app that I like to have in my collection. I like that you can adjust the font and the size of the surahs. I usually used Quran Majeed to recite long surahs or verses during Terawikh prayer. It's a fun way to memorise stuffs without getting stress out

Do you have any other apps that you used
everyday during the month of Ramadan

Photo Prompt #3: Sweet

Today I was shocked by the news of one of my colleague passed away yesterday due to heart attack. He is 34 years old. I am reminded again of how precious and how short life is. It's a reminder for me to capture life little details and document my normal life because if you don't do it, no one else will.

Challenge #3 : Sweet

Today's challenge is sweet. Nothing say more about Ramadan other than dates. You can get all kinds of dates during Ramadan. The kind with chocolates in them, the kind with nuts in them and the kind that still have steams. So far my favorite is still Maryami dates. -------------------------------------------------------------

Photo Prompt #2: In front of me

I am happy to celebrate second of Ramadan at home. I am taking the day off just because. It turn out I needed the time out because I was so sick yesterday and I didn't get the chance to really enjoy my fasting. Today I am feeling so much better and I got a lot done in a day including folding these laundry.

June Favorites

JUNE FAVORITES

  • This month I celebrate my 43 years old birthday. I have mixed feelings about this. Growing older and hopefully wiser is something to look forward to but at the same time your body is changing and it's not forgiving as it used to
  • I am exited to celebrate Ramadan at the end of June and I made another #ramadandaily photo prompt. This year I am going to print out the photos and put them in my project life mini album .
  • I rediscovered the joy of reading again and I made this book wish lists for June. I got some of them in hardcopy and some of them in ebook version
  • I've finished reading two books this month and I am proud of myself. Last year I can't even finished reading one book in a year. This is definitely a big accomplishment for me.
  • And I also finished The Target in June. I started the book at the end of May
  • My Project Life 2014 and Project 365 are going strong. Finally I found a solution that is simple and straight to the point.

I hope you had an amazing June and discover many new favorites. I am looking forward to a beautiful July, True Blood, Pretty Little Liars and more photos for Project Life 2014.

day 177

day 178 - The second day at the workshop. Wow! It was so damn cold!
day 178

day 179 - I spend the day with my kids. We went to Kinokuniya and I spend a significant amount of money on books again. I just can't stop. Hopefully this Ramadan I will stop buying and spend my time on reading.
day 179

day 180 - This little boy is getting smarter each day. I am so enjoying his rapid development and his vocabs. I know I am not as young to entertain him, nevertheless he loves to play with me.

These are my life in photos for week twenty six.  So many things happened and if I don't take the time to document them I might miss a lot. I still believe when you took the time to document the every day and the good things that happened in your life, you will be more grateful. Just saying.

Do you join Project 365 this year?
If you do linked up in the comment, I would love to
see your work and a glimpse of your life in 2014

Photo Prompt #1 : routine

Alhamdulillah, I am so thankful that I am still here to celebrate Ramadan with my family. Hopefully this month will bring us closer to Allah.
The first day of Ramadan is on Sunday. My biggest challenge is wake up my kids early in the morning. Hopefully this year they are old enough to understand the meaning of Ramadan and the benefit of Sahur.

And I am happy to bring back the #ramadandaily photo challenge. This year I planned to post the photo on my blog daily, print them out and slip them into my Project Life Mini album.

Daily photo challenge for Ramadan begins today. To see the lists of this year challenge go here.

Challenge #1 : Routine

day#01

This is something that I would have like to do every chance I get. Even though I am not feeling so good today, reciting the Quran somehow gave me strength.
