Fun at Ikea

It has been more than two years since my last visit to Ikea. I really miss this place. I've always felt inspire and happy every time I went to Ikea.
So this morning, I woke up early and drag my kids with me. I just want to avoid the weekend traffic to Ikea and I want to have the nearest parking spot I can get. I really hate looking for parking.
I originally plan to stay here for two hours but I ended up being there for more than four hours. My son had to drag me out cause I just can't stop. There are always things I find that can really help me organizing my life better.

This cute pink sofa really makes my heart skip a beat. Amazingly pretty!

Love these wall treatment.

And thsi red sofa..

My youngest also enjoy his time with us...

This is him having fun with all the cute soft toys.

One Little Word: 2013

Last year I was feeling a little bit unbalance. My life chaos and I felt so unhappy about a lot of things. So I dedicated my 2012 with finding balance, finding my center. So I choose Balance as my one little word for that year.

This year I am determine to learn more. I found out that the more I educate myself about certain things, the more confident I am. I really need to stop focusing on the bad things and start focusing more about the lesson learned.

One thing I realized was, I missed school. I missed learning something new. I missed having an assignments. I missed to quest of discovering something new. I missed taking notes. I missed books. So I am going to dedicate this year about learning. I want to set a good example to my kids that you never really stop learning even though you are not in school.

I want to learn :

  • the art of getting things done
  • how to manage projects more effectively and make it fun
  • at least three new tools or apps that can help me manage my life better
  • to love Allah more than anything else
  • to make better to do lists
  • more on Adobe Photoshop CS skills especially when it comes to brushes and extraction
  • the art of thinking creatively
  • the art of saying no without really saying it
  • to manage my emotion and action in a crisis
  • how to continue breastfeeding my baby after going back to work up until 2 years

I discovered that I learn better visually, that means either I have to read something and make notes or I see something in Youtube. It’s amazing how much you can learn from Youtube channels.

I am thinking about joining Ali’s One Little Word workshop but I still feel that $36 is a bit pricy for me ( when I convert to my currency it will be about RM136.80).

January Goals

Hello everyone! Welcome to 2013. Usually every year I make a resolution for the whole year and I ended up not doing most of the things on my list. So this year I am going to make a monthly goals, achievable and something that I can easily do. Converting my big picture goals into smaller tasks.

So here go my lists/goals for January

  • take photos of objects that mean something to me
  • finished making digital scrapbook volume 2 photo book and send for printing. I really love how volume 1 turn out.
  • print selected photos from 2012 and compile them in a Journal style book
  • make at least 10 digital layouts per week
  • choose one little word for 2013. Last year I choose balance as my word for 2012. It wasn’t easy to live a balance life but I really do everything I can to achieve it.
  • Read Chapter 7 and Chapter 8 in Getting Things Done book. This is really an amazing book. I highly recommend it!
  • for this month I intend to go through Tell Its Story ebook. I probably will not share some of the intimated story here but I will definitely share my Art Journal designs.
  • Make at least one or two art journal pages per week

Do you make any specific goals this year?
Do you like making goals?
Share with me, I want to know.

the year is 2013 and the date is January first

I woke up this morning feeling a little bit depress. I just don’t want to get out of bed. But when I saw my baby’s smile and his purple shirt, I just have to proceed with my original plan. I just don’t want to feel sad and depress anymore. It’s a new year and it’s a new beginning.

It wasn’t a great photo shoot but overall I am happy with the results.

Happy New Year everyone! May this year be the best year ever!

Today I …

Some random things about the last day of 2012
  • I am taking a day off from work. Come to think of it I don’t think I ever work on the last day of the year
  • I am still clueless about my goal for 2013
  • I went for my facial and spoil myself a little bit
  • I received a very annoying message that really spoil my 2013 celebration ( some times I just wish I don’t have a phone!)
  • I watched the last two episodes of Haven season 3. I am so looking forward to the next season. I just hope that this TV show doesn’t get cancel
  • I secretly wish that I work at different company or even work at different country
  • I felt anxious when nursing my baby. He bites! Ouch!!
  • I don’t know what I am going to do with all the stuffs that I bought for tomorrow
  • If I got a chance to do all over again, I would change a lot of things, learn from my mistakes , be more presence and not rushing

day 363– day 366 // finished

Today is the last day of 2012 and that means it’s day 366. I just can’t believe that one year ago I decided to jump into Project 365 and today I am at the last day of the year.

day 363 – my last day of going to work for the year 2012

day 364 – my last Saturday of the year. Spending it with my kids. My baby is already 8 months old. I do miss him as an infant and at the same time I really enjoy him at this age. My little explorer.

day 365 – this photo was taken by my son. So creative and I love it.

day 366 – today I woke up early in the morning. Make a cup of warm milk. Sit down on my couch and recite Quran. Such a beautiful morning.

I am happy and excited that I have successfully managed to capture 366 daily photos of my life in 2012. Some days I took lots of photos and some days I took less. One thing is for sure, having an iphone with you all the time really helps with the capturing process. I am still haven’t decided if I want to continue doing this project in 2013. I will probably take a year break and give myself permission to explore other things.

XOXO – have a great, creative and happy new year

Another four

Last Tuesday I decided to challenge myself to make fifteen digital scrapbook layouts before end of the year. I am happy to report that with these four layouts I’ve managed to make at least fifteen layouts that I need for my photo book. In fact I’ve made seventeen layouts in total. I am totally loving this feeling.
